Best WR's in the Mountains?

Featured Replies

Who are the best recievers in the mountains so far this year?

I would easily take John Cole from Somerset over anyone.

Madon from Corbin, #21 from williamsburg

Shawn Childress, Rockcastle County.

I think few would argue with Cole.

It would be hard for anyone to argue against John Cole. If they think they can, I would like to hear their argument.

No argument here.

Shanta Zachary is emerging as a real factor in Bell County's new offense. He has made several "highlight" reel type catches in clutch situations. Started as a freshman when Whittaker left team last year. Only a Sophomore!

#21 cornett from north laurel has stepped up big time this year making 2 clutch td catches against crosstown rival south laurel, with the 2nd one being in double coverage.

Isnt Somerset 0-4? The team performance would be your only argument i would think.

They're 1-4 (1-0 district). John Cole has 36 catches for 807 yards and 11 touchdowns and leads the entire state with 161.4 receiving yards per game. I think the fact that he has done this against a schedule in which Somerset's opponents have a record of 17-6 and an average Lit Rating of 85.8 just makes it more impressive.

I felt like Shawnta was the MVP of the Corbin game. He made some sensational plays in that ball game. Hes successful no matter what sport he plays.

#20 from Corbin is a great WR too. Is that the Madon kid Ive heard mentioned?

No doubt Somerset has played tough teams and have come up short on most cases but still this forum is about the best reciever in the mountains. Not the best team record.

Tommy Taylor of Johnson Central is a dangerous one, has good speed and quite the height advantage on most DB's.
