Bobcats1 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 What does everyone think about this week 3 matchup? From what I have heard and read in other papers, Western has alot of talent and speed in their backfield. I will stick with the bobcats in a close one. Breathitt 34 Western 21
ukboys Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I believe the bobcats are steadily improving. I'll say bobcats by two touchdowns.
thepeopleschamp Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I love a couple guys for Breathitt Co., including Beckham Herald, Casey Allen, and that little #25, he's a tough one. However Justin Collins is on another plane, in terms of speed and ability.
MountainThunder Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Western's Justin Collins isn't their only threat. I saw in the paper where they were ranked in the top 5 (#3 I think) in 2A in the state. They are a very fast team and I wouldn't underestimate their team speed, and Collins is the fastest among them. Western 34 Breathitt 28
SLINK Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Western is showing some commitment to the football program. Coach Preston will do a good job and they can be a force in 2A this year and their new class in the years to come.
5wide Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 This is a tough game to make a prediction for. Western is supposed to be good, so I'm going to assume they are. Breathitt is obviously much improved over last year, but I'm still not sure how good they are. I can't predict a score, but I think Western will win this game. But, Breathitt could be better than I give them credit for. If they are, there's a pretty good chance they'll win this game.
bobcatfan4ever Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I have to agree with 5wide. I will be surprised if the bobcats can pull this out as much as I would like to see it, I think they are still a year away from beating a team of this level. I could be wrong and I hope I am. If Western is as good as advertised and the bobcats can pull this out then I would think they have a good chance at pulling out the district and marching deep in the playoffs. I wish them the best of luck and I will be pulling hard for them.
Flash Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Breathitt's made a ton of mistakes the first couple of games, on both sides of the ball. But they have still won in convincing fashion. Now sometimes that means they are a good enough team to overcome mistakes and sometimes it means the other team is just way worse or made more mistakes, At any rate, unless Breathitt limits their turn-overs and plays good run defense, they will lose this one. So I hope they come together and get a win!
DragonNG73 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I would have to say Breathitt over top by 3-7. However, I look forward to playing them for the first time this season!
Sportsfan33 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Didn't Western win big last year? The final score was 61-44. Breathitt scored 44 points on Western's first string defense. Western's defense will have to play better than that against Breathitt this year. Breathitt's offense is a lot better this year than it was last year. Western should win this game, but it should be a close game. The only way Breathitt wins is if their defense plays better than it has so far this year. Hopefully they will and Breathitt pulls off the upset.
oneijoe Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 This may be one of the best games in the state tomorrow... Look for a HIGH scoring affair. Both offenses are high octane. :thumb:
allusedup Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I saw Lou. Western last week at H-burg. They do not have a "high octane" offense. They have some talented players, but I would not consider their O high octane. The QB didn't look like he could fling it 15 yards? I will give Western the nod based on athletism...but Breathitt will be tough! I'll say Western 26 - Breathitt 21.
