average, I have seen a lot of kids play throughout the years all over the state. I have had a chance to see some really good athletes down here in Lexington. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, this kid impressed me and I will stick with him until I am proved wrong.

Noble is a quality athlete, I just think that the Fugate kid is bigger, more physical and has better ball handling skills at this point. I will go out on a limb and say that by the time his high school career is over he will be playing at the next level, probably division-I

Fugate is one of those kids that impressed me early on. Even when he was not starting for Breathitt, I knew this kid had tons of potential. There are usually only a handful of players that I like to follow from their freshmen season to see how good they will become. Fugate is one of those kids, he has more potential than any kid I have seen in the mountains for awhile. It will be fun to see how he develops over the next few seasons.

I am not for sure if Ritchie, Noble, and Fugate are true freshmen or not? Does anyone know more about them.

Breathitt does have some good freshmen, but I think that Cox is probably a smoother player at this point than any of them. Maybe over the next few years some of them could develop into better players. Noble and Ritchie are talented and will become good players. Channing Fugate, from what I have seen, has the size and physical capability to become the best out of this entire class of freshmen from across the mountains. It will be interesting to see how this freshman class will develop over the next few seasons. I believe that each player mentioned will become solid players.

Breathitt will be a serious contender in 3A next season. With a talented senior quarterback (Colby Fugate) leading the offense they will be poised to make a big run deep into the playoffs. Chris Jackson plays hard on both sides of the ball and will make an impact. Channing Fugate will try and fill the big shoes of Beckham Herald, on both sides of the ball. If they can put together a solid line, this could be one of those special seasons for the Bobcats. Good luck next season!!!

Buckhorn has had some bad luck with some of the better teams in the 14th, but they are still a pretty solid team. I will go with Buckorn by 10.

Good win for the Bobcats. Hollan had a big game and was shooting well after a tough night against Letcher. Breathitt had a hard time pulling away in the first half mainly because of foul trouble on their guards. Fugate pretty much shut the talented Stamper down. Congrats Bobcats.

I'll have to go with Breathitt in this one. They are a steadily improving young team. But, Knott has been playing some good ball of late and could pull an upset if Breathitt is not fully prepared.

I agree with you, I saw this kid play last year in a middle school AAU tournament down here in Lexington. I have been putting his name out there this year because he really impressed me, he is a special talent.

The 14th is extremely wide open. I have saw more than 5 teams that could win on a good night. Some freshmen that didn't see any playing time in the first Hazard/Breathitt game were the difference in this game. Dakota Ritchie played big and Channing Fugate were the difference makers in this game. Hollan and Smith always play big, but the freshmen were the intangible in this big win.

I believe they play Perry Cent. on Jan. 2nd. That is going to be tough game for the Wildcats after a long trip back from Florida. Hopefully they will come back and play with alot of energy against PCC. I like to see the small schools do well.

Glad to see Buckhorn is getting things together. They have alot of talent when they play together.

Breathitt wins in a close one. Breathitt was behind the whole game until the final 2 seconds. Freshman Channing Fugate hits two clutch free throws with 2 seconds left to win game for bobcats. Breathitt had four freshmen on the floor at one point. The Fugate kid drove to the basket with time dwindling trying to win the game and was fouled. He showed a calm nerve to knock down the two free throws. Breathitt has some good freshmen on this team.

Good game from Breathitt, Jackson City actually looked better than Breathitt for alot of the game, but didn't have the depth to stay up. When Smith and Hollan are clicking they are pretty good.

I would like to see Breathitt win, but Buckhorn has a quality team this year. They are probably better than they have shown thus far. Breathitt has talent, but I heard that they lost one of their starting forwards. I believe the starting quarterback, Colby Fugate, quit to get stronger for football, at least that is what I have been told. If this is true, they don't have as much depth at this position, so I will go with Buckhorn by 5.

Breathitt is a talented team, but they just don't have enough talent to compete with a loaded PCC team. Breathitt seems to have some good young talent, I believe a grade schooler name Noble. Leslie is also talented, but PCC is just loaded

I've been living down here in Lexington for years now and I always look forward to this tourney. There is always some quality teams participating. This good competition is really beneficial for these kids.

Good to see a 14th region team competing against a top notch team. Stepp and Cox are talented players. This tough competition early on is what gets a team prepared come tourney time.

I didn't get to make it to the Hazard game, sounded like a good game on the radio. I watched them play Owsley and saw them in a scrimmage or two. I haven't really gotten to see the Fugate kid play much on varsity to see what he is capable of, but he is impressive as a point on JV. Noble does a good job of running the point, but it seems that when I was listening to the Hazard game on the radio he had a little trouble with the press. I remember the announcers saying that he had to call a couple of timeouts late in the game when he was in trouble with the press. It just sounds like that a stronger guard could break the pressure better.

Hazard did throttle them last year, but Breathitt was full of sophomores. With such a young team as they had last year, not many coaches could of had a winning season

I do try to give all of these kids credit. They all play extremely hard and are talented players. The Smith kid is the key to the team and Hollan is a great player. Aaron Combs is a workhouse. I would just like to see Breathitt get the right lineup out there, so they could not just be a good team, but a great team.

I live down here in Lexington and don't get to come back to Breathitt as much as I would like to watch the bobcats. But from watching a few games, The Fugate kid seems to be stronger and a better ball handler. Don't get me wrong, Noble is a talented player. But, the Fugate kid is going to be a big time talent in years to come. I watched both of these kids in an AAU tourney down here in Lexington last year, Noble is good, but the Fugate kid is a special talent.
