Good game for 3 quarters, Jackson actually led at the half , I think. Breathitt pulled away in the 4th. Coach Hall coached a good game with the players he has, but a couple of key guys got in foul trouble early on and they couldn't recover.

You may be right but I think they may be a better team then Perry Central, but I admit I haven't seen PCC play this year yet, just judging by their losses and wins.

Like I have said before, at this point in the season I think it is a 2 team race between JBS & Hazard. After that it is a tight race between PCC, Breathitt & the rest.

I figured that Breathitt would win this game but not by that large of a score. I quit listening to the game when Breathitt went up by 6 in the 3rd, now I am glad I did. Big win for the Bobcats.

Well I think Breathitt can upset anyone in the region really. They had a 14 point lead over hazard in the 3rd at one point.Tonight about midway through the third period Breathitt pulled away. Reason being Steve Banks conditions Breathitt really hard so they can go 4 quarters. That was the down fall of Brian Hall's teams at Breathitt. I believe that was the case tonight to. I will put Travis Smith up against anyone in the Region in a 1-on-1 low post matchup anyday too. Way to go Big Blue

Good game from Breathitt, Jackson City actually looked better than Breathitt for alot of the game, but didn't have the depth to stay up. When Smith and Hollan are clicking they are pretty good.

And the defense that they put on the Davision kid. The Radio kept talking about it and I think they said he was held to 6pts. Defense is what win's Championships. Does anyone disagree with me. And I agree about Coach Bank's having his players in shape. I got to watch them against Hazard and they seemed to be going as strong at the end as they was from the start. As for Brain Hall according to a friend of mine that got to see the game said he was sitting in the 4th quarter and didn't seem to know what to do. And said that is team seemed to not to be in very good shape. Is any of this true. And as far as I see I think the Bobcat's is right there with Hazard and JBS.

Your friend is mistaken I'm afraid. Hall coached the whole game from a standing position. I'd say with two starters fouled out and down 15-20 in the 4th there's probbly not a lot you can do. I do think Breathitt's team is in better condition physically then they were last year but not the preceeding years, just this group of kids. And to me, what makes Breathitt better this year, as opposed to last, is that Smith and Holland are a year older and more developed for one. But last night the Hayes kid who is a senior kept Breathitt in the game in the early going and down the streach it was some younger talented freshmen like Noble that sparked the pull away and wore Jackson City down. Too much depth and too much talent as compared to Jackson City. With all that said, it is still a weak region in the 14th and Breathitt is one of the top 3 teams in a down year. But, it's on it's way back up and next year the 14th will be pretty darn tough.

You say the Hayes kid. That's true with the way he is playing this year. But according to him and rumor's that's been floating around Brain Hall said he wasn't good enough to play last year. And that is ashame. He's a good ballplayer and a great young man. That's ashame to treat a kid like he was treated last year.

Actually, he really wasn't a good enough player to play a lot last year. He's steadily improved. Sounds like you have a problem with Coach Hall and that's fine but most everyone I know cnsiders him a high quality individual and good coach. In fact he would probably have the same record this year at Breathitt that the current coach has and so would any other decent coach. Three years ago when his team was like 15-0 to start the season he never made a big deal out of it, now this team is 7-1 and it's like we've won the region or something. I said it two years ago, this team would struggle last year, win a bunch of games this year and be ready to make a run next year. I still believe that's the case.

1. The defense put on Drew Davidson wasn't nothing special 2 defenders at all times leaving one wing player unguarded for Jackson City. It only worked when Jackson City was in foul trouble and playing with some young players that couldn;t take advantadge of the situation. Try that any other team and Breathitt will be in for a long night.

2. Coach Hall did a good job of coaching an outmatched team and was playing with a very talented Breathitt team till Watkins got in foul trouble.

3. I thought this was of the most home cooking I have seen this year from the refs. Not necessarily the calls but friom the non-calls. Watkins was beat to death and davidson jersey was stretched two sizes after the game

4. Best post player in the region Travis Smith( I love his game ) But completely under utilized

5. The biggest other factor was Hollon starting to hit 3's in the third period.

 

My respect to both coaches for a hard fought game. I hope Breathitt is preparing for the regional tournament and not changing what they do best to become King of the Hill. It could come back to bite you against a good team.

Not in my memory but someone ese may know differently. They could have last year probably but the district draws and they never faced off. But Beathitt has, at least in recent history, beat them by at east twenty each time they've played.
