I have heard in the past that it is just a matter of Paris asking to consolidate. Just wondering what would have to happen to get the ball rolling on this happening in the future. Anyone from some other school districts know. Maybe some insight from someone in the Harrodsburg / Mercer County area ?.....?

You have perfectly described a form of defensive pass interference where there doesn't have to be contact. It is called face gaurding. In high school football the defender can not block the receivers vision with out making an attempt at the ball.

He has to much class to do this. Paris has a little bit of speed on the corners, but I do agree Frankfort by 28-7

The missed extra points and the turn over on the punt return which turned into 7 points for the Indians was the difference in this game.

I would be surprised if the cannon is ever fired on school grounds or at a school function again. There is too much liability for the school to be responsible for.

There was an accident at Scott County this year and they retired the cannon.

I believe Bourbon County beat Mercer County in 87. I believe it was the last game of the year. at Mercer. Good game if I remember correctly.

There might be a coach they are interested in up North by the river.

I am not a fan of either team. Just a fan of football. I was standing in the endzone opposite the score board and I would agree that I also believe that the pass interference call was a good call, also think the overturn call on the other pass interference was the right call. I didn't see the late hit call or couldn't see the spot on the first down from the endzone but I thought It was a great game and that the refs did a decent job. Congradulations to both teams on their accomplishments this year. You should both be proud. Good luck

There is no such thing as horse collar in high school. It is a college rule, I suspect that it might filter into high school rules in a year or two. The old saying play or hit to the whistle is false. The whistle does not make the player down. The player is already down by rule. A player is down if any part of his body touches the ground other than his foot or hand, or if he goes out of bounds, or if it is ruled that his forward progress has been stopped.
