  4. Mason Co coach has ties to Paris, coached there several years back. Other than that I have no idea.
  5. Looks like Harmon from Lafayette is coming home.
  6. I think theres a coach around the Ohio river area thats originally from Central Ky. area that would make a great hire.
  7. I have always liked Joe, and Coach Wiloughby was the offensive line coach at Bourbon when I played their. I have a great amount of respect for both of them.
  8. excellent. I'm can't remember for sure but that might be how I got my start 10 years ago. Its easy to sit in the stands and have opinions or watch it in slow motion from one of 10 different angles and make the call.
  9.:laugh: Now your turning this into a private issue. ha ha And I totally agree with you.

  11. It depends on whether this poor kid was 6'3" 200lb. lighting fast, good level head who could throw a football 60 yards on a string and run the 40 in 4.4 :ylsuper::laugh::ylsuper::laugh::ylsuper::laugh::ylsuper::laugh:
  12. What is your perception of this rule?
  13. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on having a woman officiating football. Did she deserve it? Did she do a good job? Or is title IX making its way into officiating.
  14. I heard during the playoffs that David Hensley from Paul L. Dunbar in Lexington was the front runner.
  15. Thanks for the kind words. We really don't mind a little criticism though, it goes with the job. Most of us would do the "job" for free by the way, but please don't give the KHSAA any ideas. I always read the BGP thread for the games I work before I watch the tape so I know in advance which plays I screwed up. It wouldn't be near as much fun if passionate fans weren't sitting in the stands. I cant agree more. We, or I think I speak for most all officials, don't officiate for the money or the recognition. We do it for the love of the game. We do it because we are competitve. We strive to get it right, to make it fair, and to keep all players as safe as possible. I would like to say thank you to 99% of the players and fans for another great football season. I am already looking foward to our spring clinic where we can begin to dig back into the rules study and see friends in the profession from all over the state. Let me finish by saying that if you are at all interested in football and you share the same love of the game that we do. You might consider becoming a football official. Most all officiating associations are always recruiting new officials. Have a Happy Holidays, and looking foward to a new football season.
  16. Has any body heard anything. Have they narrowed their search?
  17. Does anyone know where the officiating crew was from. I thought they did a good job.
  18. I hear people in the stands question calls just about every Fri. night. Most of the time these people have no idea of the rules. They confuse Sat. and or Sun. rules with High school rules. They act as if each call is an attempt to wrong their son or team. The rule is An ineligible player has illegally touched a foward pass if he bats, muffs or catches a foward pass while he is behind, in or beyond the neutral zone, unless the pass has been touched by the defense. The penalty is 5 yards and loss of down. If it is ruled as accidental such as hitting ineligible in back then there is no foul.
  19. What a ball game. Congradulations to Coach Matney and his wife on the birth of their son. I feel very fornate to have picked this game to watch. There were several nice match ups in the state and this one turned out to be the great game that i thought it would. This is the type of game that makes me love watching Kentucky High School Football.. Great Game and season by both teams. Good luck to J.C. in round 3.
  20. Nice win for the Flyers. Good luck next week. Would like to see you advance on to round 3.
  21. Question 1, yes, there is a untimed down on any accepted penalty at the end of a quarter or half. Question 2, East Jessamine made a first down, the officials signaled the clock to stop with 2.5 seconds to go in the half to reset the chains for a new series. The clock operator did not stop the clock and it ran to 0. So there should have been at least 2 seconds on the board.
  22. did any one see the Woodford County touch down pass in the corner of the end zone. Was it a catch? it looked like he trapped it on the ground to me. What do you think?
