Knights win on the road in district.

Rules question: At the end of the 1st quarter, there was a defensive penalty. Is it correct that there is an untimed down at the end of a quarter? I do know that it is one at the end of the half.

Number 2: At the end of the second quarter, East completed a pass and the clock ran to 0:00 during the play. It appeared to me that the reciver was tackled in bounds but the officials said he was not. They stopped the clock (which already showed 0:00) and gave East Jess. another down. East then spiked the ball(with 0:00 on the clock) and then ran a second play, throwing the ball into the endzone incomplete to end the half. There were no defensive penalties during this strange sequence.

Correction. Score was 44-29. Sorry.

Wow!! Only a two touchdown difference and a couple of two point conversions and East Jessamine may have walked out of the jungle with a win? Was it really that close?

No! It was not that close! Catholic was up 44 - 13 in the 4th. East scored on Catholic's JVs.

Question 1, yes, there is a untimed down on any accepted penalty at the end of a quarter or half.

Question 2, East Jessamine made a first down, the officials signaled the clock to stop with 2.5 seconds to go in the half to reset the chains for a new series. The clock operator did not stop the clock and it ran to 0. So there should have been at least 2 seconds on the board.
