  1. Casen "The Rock" Shrock pictured in pre-game with the CC Cheerleaders. Awesome kid and family!:thumb:
  2. Way to go BC and Coach Siple!
  3. To answer your thread question: NO. We'll send a limo to pick Coach Marksberry up. If Dixie gives us Tom Spritzky to, Coach Lickert will go from an All-Star coaching staff to HOF staff!! Jeff Marksberry is a quality man & coach that loves his kids and program. Sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone!
  4. Now that's something that we can agree on fastball 21: No sour grapes but plenty of whine! There's also an old cliche about losing with dignity. Get over it......
  5. :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa31 years is a long time to wait! (no apologies here)
  6. CC Fighting Camels.......Perhaps the Cinderella season in KY HS Football this year? BTW....Hats off to the Ryle. I cannot remember the last time that the Camels defeated the Raiders.
  7. 0 - 5 start, then Bye week, then 3 - 0 in 6A. This is a different team than in the first half of the season! Congrats to the Camels - NKY 6A District Champions! The Camel fans were out in full force tonight. In my estimation, there were more Camel fans than Ryle! A truly amazing high school game for the Camels following 4 turnovers (at least 2 in the Red Zone) in the 1st Half. Coach Lickert and his outstanding staff really have these guys believing in themselves.
  8. Congrats to the Rebels on a great come-from-behind win. They could have rolled over but they took charge in the 2nd half on the back of the RB (#26) Floyd. He is a workhorse with lightning speed. The Camels were a tale of two halves. Unbreatable in the first. Didn't finish in the second. I thought the turning point was the strip of the ball from Camel QB Spicer as they were driving and recovered by the Rebels. Not his fault as he never saw it coming. Preston Spicer threw good passes throughout the contest. He had a few tosses on the money that should have been caught. The Camels are much better than their record indicates and they continue improving each week!
  9. #9 Juan Arguelles is his name. He did miss a PAT last night. However, before that kick, he hit something like 16 PATS in a row. 1 second remaining in the half and he hits the 41 yarder as time expires (off of a dirt patch). I agree Guru......that was impressive.
  10. Great win for the Fighting Camels. Congratulations to Coach Lickert, his coaching staff, and the Camel players!
  11. With an extra week's rest under their belt, the Camels pull this one out if they take care of the ball.
  12. Congratulations to Coach Miller and the young Camels. Nice win!!
  13. "Put me in coach, I can still play.....ah shucks, just a pipe dream".
  14. "I'm a lean, mean, pipe'in machine"!
  15. "Simon says hands on hips"...good. "Now, Simon says suck in gut......Simon says suck in gut" "Simon says hands on hips".
  16. "Little brother, how am I gonna win this game if you can't make the calls in my favor"?
  17. Show patience with your new head coach, staff, and young team and support them 100%. It's that simple. If allowed to show his net worth, Coach Lickert will produce a winner.
  18. The Camels are truly in a rebuilding mode. A young team, new head coach, almost an entirely new coaching staff, new offensive & defensive philosophies. Why all of the finger pointing? These are quality young men being coached by a quality coaching staff. Coach Lickert was asked to take the reigns of the Camels (following a review of nearly 50 applicants) because he is a proven winner. This is now HIS program. Give the guy a break!! I truly hope that TRUE Camel fans will continue to rally round their new coach. Coach Lickert has a passion for winning that is unparalled. His track records proves it. But more importantly, his passion for his young players is even greater. I have observed Coach Lickert and the positive influence he is having on his young team. I have not heard ONE negative comment come from a player's mouth about their new head coach and his staff. He will teach them how to win. However, I was APPALLED last evening (at the Cooper game) as a few narrowed minded (so-called) Camel fans (parents) played armchair QB from the stands and questioned nearly every play on the field. They yelled embarrassing comments down to the Camel sideline which only helped tear down a team that is clearly trying to find itself. Of course this always comes from a parent who is upset about his/her son's playing time! I challenge TRUE Camel fans to get behind their team at a time when the players and coaches need them most. Support the players and coaches with positive, uplifting words of encouragement. Not the kind of negativity that I'm reading on BGP's and hearing at the games. There are many great things going on in the county. In due time, all of the naysayers will be eating their words. Stay the course Coach Lickert. You are doing a GREAT JOB!!
  19. This game is still on last I heard (at about 12:30 pm from the CCMS AD).
  20. Can BGP's outlaw this title? Closing the Book on any Team (especially this early in the season) is like saying "I don't believe in these kids". SK has a solid program and they will be fine. Perhaps your time would be better spent reading one!
  21. Congrats to Coach Siple and da' Bears! Class coach with loads of experience & knowledge of the game.
  22. Poor Lickert? Following last week vs. CCH, I'm quite certain that Coach Lickert was encouraged by his team's output vs. Milford. However, to lose in the final 4 seconds of the game on the last offensive play is a tough pill to swallow. Positives: 1) Running game much improved in Week 2. Popp, Durham, and Walsh were a triple-threat and will continue to improve. 2) Passing game stepped up. Zabonick, Moore, and company emerging as strong young receivers. Walsh good QB accuracy overall and will continue improving each week. 3) Punt, kick-off, and return teams looked good. Goins had one punt of 65+ yards. 4) Run defense improved over Week 1. Areas to improve: 1) Kick scoring. 2 of 4 on XPA and 1 missed short range FG. As we saw with CCH last week, a strong kicking game is a powerful weapon. Grant Mahoney is a good kicker and he will continue improving. 2) Secondary coverage. Arm tackles, players falling down in coverage, lack of aggressive man-on-man coverage have hurt the Camels. Although improved over Week 1, still a major concern area IMO. Poor Lickert? No way!! He is slowly building a strong, unified foundation in Alexandria. Remember, this is a young team that believes in what Lickert's fine coaching staff is selling. Camel fans are 100% behind their young coach & team! I'm quite certain that he wants no sympathy and has planty to build on.
  23. #6 Bir (CCH) and #18 Durham (CC) were the players of the game. However, CCH's Talkers is perhaps the best leg that I have ever witnessed at Bob Miller Stadium. A kicker like that is a very valuable weapon. If he kicked off from the 25, I feel confident that he would still reach the end zone. What a performance! Good luck to the Colonels. I agree with one of the posters. They will give Dale some heartburn this year. As far as the Camels go, Coach Lickert has done a great job thus far. In a relative short time period as the head coach, he has instilled a love for football in his Team. We are lucky to have a coach that loves the game of football....but more importantly, loves & respects his kids even more! He has assembled a first class staff of coaches IMO!
  24. I agree that the Camels did well under Coach Bailey. He did a nice job for the Camels.
  25. I understand that Coach Lickert has the team working very hard in preparation for the coming season. I have been impressed with the coaching staff that he has assembled thus far (Roy Lucas Jr., Jeff McCarthy, etc). Very experienced staff with strong values and balance. I really like that Miller will be handling the Freshman class again. He brings a certain level of excitement and intensity to the incoming class. Should make for an interesting inaugural season for the new varsity head coach. There is a great deal of excitement about the 2011 Camels in Alexandria! :thumb:
