  1. The Polar Bears have just landed a great coach and mentor for their kids. Coach Siple will teach his players how to love, respect, and have fun with the game of football. His football resume is a mile long and his passion for the game is immeasurable. Good Luck Sipes!
  2. Coach Murray met his new team today @ CCHS. I spoke to a few players this evening who were very impressed with his future plans for Lady Camels Basketball. I understand that before Bath County, he served as a varsity assistant @ Clark Co. Looks like another strong hire for Campbell County Athletics.
  3. Oh Pleaseeeeee.........not Gene Keady's twin! I have never seen high school basketball girls yelled at and disrespected more in a game than by this guy! If you love your daughters HC, keep him on the baseball diamond.
  4. Congratulations to both Scott and Campbell County on fine seasons thus far. I gotta say that despite the loss by the Camels, this ranks as perhaps the most entertaining and exciting boy's game that I have ever watched at Campbell County Middle School. The atmosphere, the game, the crowd were electric! Good Luck to both teams at the regional tourney.
  5. Any word on the injury to the BB player's knee (Stadtmiller)? She played well and is a hard worker. I believe that she's just a Freshman?
  6. I hope that your #6 post is your last. To refer to any high school kid in this manner is way out of bounds. Especially given that this is based on second hand information. Very classy!! Where's a moderator when you need one? Stephen Lickert is a Class person and he would never view any player from any school in the manner you describe. Early indicators are that Coach Lickert is progressing very nicely in his new CC role.
  7. The Lady Camels certainly had their chances. 26 -25 @ Half (Boone on top). The 2nd Half started ugly for CC. Three turnovers on consecutive possessions. The difference was Boone' s inside play and the number of turnovers and missed free throws by the Lady Camels. This was a good game for CC as many would have suspected a possible lopsided affair. Not the case at all. They never quit and are playing with a great deal of heart heading down the stretch. BTW - The ability to pass and spot open players is (IMO) one of Syndney Moss' finer qualities. She is fun to watch!
  8. The "lonely guy" in the stands next to #1 (the sound system). Can't read the number but I believe that is "Maytag HS".
  9. Remember that District game well! A few bad calls both ways. Megan made a 40' shot to end the game but the buzzer just sounded before her release. Totally agree that she was an awesome player. Congratulations Megan.
  10. Congrats to the Thoroughbreds on the win and to the Lady Camels on a great season thus far. HC is always a tough place to play. Hopefully the Camels can now focus on improving each and every game in preparation for the District & Region Tournament. I believe that the 15 game win streak was wonderful thing but also a distraction.
  11. This was a great game to watch (win or lose). Congrats to the Camel team and Coach Russell. They are really beginning to gel as a squad. Every player contributed to this win.
  12. I believe that it is "Scut" Farkus if my memory serves me correctly. Good one though........
  13. I wasn't just referring to BGPs. When the announcement was made on NKY.com and other media sources, a "small contingent" immediately jumped on the naysayer bandwagon. I agree with your assessment of Highlands. It really boils down to the bully in the alley (in a good way) that no one can beat (well.....almost no one)! I have a great respect for their program as well.
  14. Great work Lady Camels and Coach Cravens! Keep it going........ The Tibbs player is fun to watch. Strong floor presence and what a great shooting form.
  15. I hope Coach Lickert realizes that if a modern day Knute Rockne was hired, there would still be a "small number" of narrow-minded wannabes complaining that their candidate wasn't chosen. Mark Perry would have been an excellent choice as well. However, Stephen Lickert's enthusiasm for inspiring kids and developing football programs is infectious. This is a great hire for Campbell County! This is now his program arm-chair QB's, please give the guy a chance. He has been an absolute winner at every level and his success will quiet the naysayers if given a fair opportunity. Coach Lickert is a quality person and as a Camel fan, I am embarrassed that he needs to be subjected to the unwarranted negativity generated on BGP's and other blogs. Congratulations Coach Lickert! Here's to many years of success @ CC.
  16. Nothing against Setty (he's a great player) but he seemed to get the benefit of several no calls from the officials when in fact he should have been whistled. Case in point, the Camels Kennedy goes in for a breakaway lay-up late in the game and Setty makes solid contact from behind....no call, no foul.
  17. Please allow me to qualify my attempt at humor above. I was only referring to the crosstown rivalry between Bishop "Brossart" and Campbell County. This was not aimed at Coach Brossart as I have heard that he is a good man and coach.
  18. It sure would make for some great football humor if "Brossart" gained control of the "Camels" program.
  19. Nobody has the job at this point because no candidates have formally interviewed for the position. A screening and hiring process has been established. CC will hire the best, most qualified candidate that will take their football program to the next level.
  20. Perhaps inexperience and lack of depth would be a better choice of words as the Lady Camels Freshman & JV squads sport 3 talented 8th graders.
  21. Great recap and balanced evaluation Mustang. I didn't think that Coach Code was ever going to run out of timeouts. I believe that he used all 5 within a few minute span. Congrats to both squads....what a game!
  22. Totally agree with your thoughts on Spicer. This is the first time that I saw her play. After a slow 1st half, she provided a much needed boost in Q4. Very good ball handler, good instincts, and tough as nails. Congrats to Coach Cravens and the Lady Camels on the crosstown win!
  23. This is an irresponsible post because NO decision has been made. Making such claims and spreading this type of rumor has the potential to limit qualified candidates from applying for the job. There is an interview & hiring process in place and it will play out.
  24. Thanks StickerMann for reminding me why I started this post in the first place! StickerMann: "Back on topic--Congrats to Coach Styer for the job he did stepping into a less than desirable situation and making the best of it!! He's turned the program in the right direction, and hopefully for the Camels, his replacement will continue his work. Best of luck to Coach in his future undertakings, and hopefully he gets to spend some time with his family--Coaching is a time consuming profession."
  25. There...we can all feel better now. This is the officially licensed "handshake" of the Campbell County School's Administration. I have contacted Central Office and they have sanctioned it for use on BGP's.
