  1. Great kid & hard worker. Good Luck in your Sr. season Logan. Should this video series be retitled, "Logan's Run"?
  2. Congrats to the Pioneers. Kuntz (#6) played a masterful game at QB. Sampson (#23) ran the ball with authority. The Neer linebackers did a nice job of containing Durham (something that a lot of teams couldn't figure out this season). Good luck next week in the Regional final. Great job Camels! You had a great season and left us all with a feeling of Camel Pride as you closed out the Grand 'Ol Stadium! Coach Bob Miller would have been proud! Next season begins a new era for the Fighting Camels!
  3. If Camels play their game, play aggressive D, and limit T.O's they will win this contest. BTW uk#1fan, John Calipari just called BGPreps and has asked that you please change your screen name. He indicated that you are hurting his recruiting efforts. Several other BGP screen names are available like "clueless#1fan", "getalife#1fan", "imahomer#1fan", and "iknownothingaboutsports#1fan".
  4. Here's why The Camels win: 1) Previously defeated the Pioneers at SK. 2) Camels host SK and have played tough at home this season (4-2 record). 3) Versus like opponents this season (NCC, Ryle, BC, and Dixie), the Camels were 4-0, SK 3-1. 4) Versus like opponents, the Camels won each game by a wider margin of victory * NCC - CC +26, SK +8 * Ryle - CC +31, SK +20 * Boone - CC +20, SK +18 * Dixie - CC +4, SK -6
  5. A little of both. I have not seen such a lopsided varsity win like last night at Bob Miller Stadium....ever. The Camels are firing on all cylinders and are playing with great confidence. Defense is gang tackling like never before. They are getting after it. The pass Offense has opened up with several new receiving weapons since the last SK game. The Camel running game continues to expand with new options each week. You never know who is going to step up and make a big play next! Should be fun!
  6. Solid win by the Fighting Camels. Now get zoned in on the Pioneers. They're coming to our HOUSE this time!
  7. "Coach Bates, forget the touchdown, I dropped my lunch money and I can't find it. What am I going to do"? ....or "Linda, darling, I love you this much"!:thumb:
  8. But a 4-0 District record and Back-to-Back NKY 6A District Championship (not to mention big win over SK) does.
  9. Out of town traveling and not able to make the game. Was it a single missed XP or were there other missed kicking opportunities? Agree that Mahoney has a booming leg and great accuracy. Has hit FGs of 40+ this season. Kicking of course is all timing and it seems (at times) that his kicks are blocked due to taking too much time to kick. Not criticizing, just an observation.
  10. My vote is for Bull Durham. Aside from great #'s, his leadership on and off the field are unquestioned.
  11. ....Outstanding. Thanks for sharing the visual updates. The deep purple is amazing.
  12. Bob Miller Stadium will be rock'in on Friday night. Last "regular" season game ever played there after 69 years of football. Anyone ever connected with CC Football invited to attend. May be a record crowd. Lots of cool things planned for the evening. Coach Lickert has his program going in the right direction. Youth program in place. High interest among young athletes in playing football. Add in a new multi-million dollar facility and you have a formula for success. Now we need consistency year-in, year-out. Fortunately, CCS has a Superintendent in Glen Miller that came from a winning football tradition at Beechwood. He understands the value of a strong football program to a school system.
  13. As the picture was taken, US #27 was to my back. The baseball field is sandwiched between the new football field and soccer facility (far end of the picture).
  14. BTW...Here is a recent picture (taken on 10/14/12) of the new stadium. It will hold 3,700 fans. Please note that the track has been poured and the synthetic turf is currently being installed. The new vocational/tech center is to the right of the picture.
  15. This Friday, 10/19 marks the final "Regular Season" game ever played at Bob Miller Stadium (vs. Boone Co @ 7:00 PM). Anyone ever connected with Campbell County Football (players, coaches, cheerleaders, Band of Pride, etc) is invited to come and participate in a ceremony closing out one of the best game viewing venues in NKY (except for the wooden light poles). The first game ever played in this stadium occurred in 1944 (69 years ago). Some of the original cast of players will be in attendance. All are invited to come and celebrate with us!! Of course the new stadium at the high school is under construction and will be ready for the 2013 season.:thumb:
  16. Down 3 points (32-29), ball on Camels own 5 following a great punt by Dixie, 2:29 to play, driving rain with wind blowing in their face. Durham tosses a sideline route to #83 Zabonick. Good coverage by Dixie defender but Zabonick will not be denied a 95 yard catch & run this night! What a spectacular play for the CARDIAC CAMELS!! Congrats to Coach Lickert and the Fighting Camels. Could have very easily rolled over and played dead at Half down 24-6.
  17. I agree that the officiating was suspect at best (and remember they were short-handed). However, your claim that "90% of the tackles that CC made, the defender came in with his helmet" shows even greater bias than the officials you complain about.
  18. Congrats to the Jags. One of the quickest teams that I've seen play at Bob Miller Stadium in quite some time. Lightening struck long before the game delay.......#8 Morgan was an electric player! His catch in the left corner of the end zone was amazing. Reminded me of those acrobatic catches by Camel Alum Brandon Griffin from just a few years back. A slow Q1, a dropped Pick 6 on the goal line by the Camels, fumble/turnover in Q4.....the Camels had their chances but didn't capitalize. Coach Lickert is doing a great job and is getting his guys ready for 6A. You gotta give credit though to Coach Borchers and Cooper!
  19. I believe that CC beat NCC just a few years back at Newport Stadium. With the exception of 1 or 2 games, this has been an exciting annual contest. I hear that this contract will not be renewed in 2013. Is that correct?
  20. 175 posts into this thread and there is still those that believe Coach Lickert is a candidate for this job? Why would he leave CC after such a promising Year #1? Why would he be attracted to Dixie (a team that his club defeated handily in 2011)? At CC, Coach Lickert has: 1) built a loyal following of fans & supporters. 2) 60-70 kids in the weight room 4 days a week. The players are hungry! 3) administration support. 4) a strong group of returning players including the 6A POTY in No KY (QB - Tyler Duram). 5) an incoming 2012 class of Freshmen that won the No. KY Large (Middle) School Championship over CovCath. 5) a vibrant and growing youth league program (over 200 players). 6) a state-of-the-art football facility under construction (similar in look to Ryle HS). 7) built synergy with his solid coaching staff. 8) momentum going into 2012 as the returning 6A NKY District Champions! IMO, there is only one other school in NKY that he would even consider (and we all know where that is)!!
  21. Since the Camel's season is finished, I took the opportunity to catch this game. I was totally amazed at the speed with which the Birds play the game. It's like watching game film in fast-forward! Congrats to the Colonels on a great season and Good Luck to the Birds as they continue their play-off run!
  22. Spot on lawildcat! A few years back when the Camels were in the playoffs, a group of parents went up & down US 27 and asked local businesses to support the Team with a Good Luck message. The majority of businesses were supportive. One gift shop said, "If we put a message for the Camels on our sign, it will make the Brossart people mad". Needless to say, that gift shop went out of business (i'm certain due in part to that type of attitude). BTW, it was located directly across the street from the CC Middle School. I do have to give some props to the All-Seasons Car Wash on US #27 (across from the Speedway). That business supported the Camels all season long with good luck messages. I remember that before their first win against Simon Kenton, the car wash sign read "CC vs. SK"....Find A Way (and they did).
  23. Good Luck to the Lafayette Generals as they advance in the playoffs. I was impressed with the good sportsmanship that I witnessed following the game by #5 Bubba Johnson. I watched as he approached several Camel Seniors (playing at Bob Miller Stadium for the last time) long after the game had concluded and gave them a hug or handshake. Classy player!
  24. Optimism is very high in the County for next season! Congratulations to Coach Lickert on a great season. Your passion for our kids and CC Camel football is unparalled!
