Campbell Co. vs. Mason Co.
Although a non-District game, this contest could factor favorably for CC into 6A tie-breakers down the road (i.e., if Mason continues to win throughout the season and the Camels defeat them next Friday). The Camels are showing signs of what they are capable of on Friday nights. Having CC's Zack Koeninger back vs. Mason will be a huge lift for the Camel D. What are Mason's strengths? Have not seen them play since last year.

Campbell County 38 Conner 14
Congrats Camels on this "must win"! You must still cut out or minimize the miscues (i.e., 4 penalties on the first 6 snaps, blocked punt, blocked XPAs, etc).

Campbell County 38 Conner 14
Clyde.....Were you attempting to build up Conner or put down CC with this comment?

Campbell Co 36 NCC 6 (Frosh)
4-0. Wins against Holy Cross, Newport, Holmes, and NCC. Should make for an exciting match-up next Thursday in Ft. Thomas.

Ryle 13 Campbell County 7
Dropped balls, untimely penalties, and poor kick-off coverage were the Camels' nemisis tonight....not the Raiders. It didn't help the Camels that the Raiders only had 2 penalties whistled against them all night. How about that Camel defensive goal-line stand in Q4 from the 1 yard line? By the way, outstanding turf. The orange end-zones are very cool! Raider's Nation facility is one of the best around.

Campbell Co. 31 Tates Creek 14
I guess that the KY Enquirer sport's reporters don't think so. They didn't even make a prediction on this game in their weekly (Thursday) review. The Camels are playing very passionate (Team) football right now. I was very impressed with the speed of TC's QB. If you don't contain him, you won't catch him. Once he develops confidence in his passing game, he will be unstoppable. One final note, the players for TC were good sportsmen. One of their players (#30 - RB)came over to the Camel bench to check on an injured player post-game. Classy!

Campbell County/Covington Catholic Scrimmage
Both teams have some very talented athletes and explosive offenses. CovCath won the overall Freshman scrimmage.

Campbell County/Covington Catholic Scrimmage
I was merely pointing out that there were 2 elements to this scrimmage. CovCath won Part A and CampCo Part B. Both teams played and hit hard. On a side note, there was a very nice crowd in attendance for both clubs (I guess due in part to the fact that the JV & Freshmen also scrimmaged on a split field). It made for a great atmosphere at a very nice football facility.

Campbell County/Covington Catholic Scrimmage
Guru, you are right (sort of). The Colonels win the 15 offensive play format by a 4-2 score advantage. However, Campbell Co. won the head-to-head scrimmage (4 downs or out) 16-7 in real game simulation. CovCath: 1 TD (1 XP) CampCo: 2 TD (1 XP) and 1 FG

Ashland/Campbell Co. Scrimmage
IMO, I would not say that the Camels dominated. Both offenses started slow out of the gate. The Camels "D" did play very well throughout with very good gang tackling. Zach Koeninger played a monster game (#97 in the scrimmage). The Camel QBs (Eshman and Kramer) got better as the contest heated up. Both had solid performances. Both teams had their fair share of missed blocks, missed tackles, false starts, etc. (the ususal early season kinda stuff). Overall, I believe that both Ashland and CC learned a great deal about their respective teams from this contest.

Ashland/Campbell Co. Scrimmage
Camels won by a count of 3 to 1: Ashland-- 1 Rushing TD (1 Yd) Campbell -- 3 Receiving TDs (C.J. Neyman, Nate Geiman, and Cory Hodge). One other long TD caught by Tony Bishop was called back due to an Illegal Procedure call.

Looks like great weather in Ashland on Saturday! Thanks....

Ashland/Campbell Co. Scrimmage
Looking forward to a return visit to Putnam Stadium. As I recall from 2 years ago, this was a beautiful, older complex with great views of the natural turf (which was also in perfect condition). The Camels (numbering about 70-75 on the Varsity Roster) have a great deal of talent on both sides of the ball but they need reps to get in-sync (like most schools this time of year). Good size and solid Team speed are assets. Excellent coaching staff led by Head Coach Troy Styer. Should be fun! What's the current forecast for Saturday?

Let's hear some more about Highlands football please...
"Next, on BLUEBIRDPreps.com, posters will discuss the following provocative topics going on in Caketown"..... 1) What is the proper cooking temperature for hot dogs at the concession stand? 2) Should the school be moved for grandstand expansion? 3) How are cannon balls made? 4) Guess Your Best? How many blades of artificial turf are on the Highlands field? "All this and much, much more on BLUEBIRDPreps.com"..... Highlands goes undefeated and wins yet another State Title. Good Luck!

Brossart Hires New Head Football Coach
Congrats to Coach Reinhart and the Brossart Mustangs. Smart move recruiting a dentist for his first coaching hire. He'll be good with the drill(s). It wasn't too long ago that the Camels endured a similar situation to Brossart's. Good things do happen to those who wait. All the best on a successful season and program!

Best Linebackers this year in NKY?
Joe Sauerbeck -- He'll be a solid contributor to the Camels this season. Great kid. ....and there's yet one more Sauerbeck behind Joe.

Who said it?
We also "read" a great deal about them. I was thinking that their own sports website might be in order: BluebirdPreps.com Now I'm not suggesting Guru that they take their business elsewhere. It just seems (and sounds like) a good fit for such a storied program.

Your High School's Football Web Site
Great idea on the post...... Campbell County's site is: http://www.campbellcountyfootball.com The site contains mostly 2007 information but is under construction for 2008 by the crack staff (Dave S). Dave does a nice job maintaining the site.

Campbell County's football field.... Wow!
What kind of absurd statement is this? As a former Red Devil player and coach, I'm embarrassed by your remarks. You should re-evaluate the "real" reason why you are coaching youth athletics. Is it to produce Stars? It should be to develop young men into fundementally sound football players that have a passion for the game that we have grown to love. Both the Red Devil program and CCYFL provide viable options for "kids" that want to play football. They are co-existing and both will continue to flourish. Your continued efforts to bash the CCYFL and the field they play on will not get you elected to the Board.

Campbell County's football field.... Wow!
Your comments are mostly unfounded however I do agree that field maintenance is costly (for any non-synthetic turf). Fungus problems? Not aware of this issue or any games that were cancelled. What games were cancelled? This field is used far more than 25 times per year. On average, the varsity, JV, freshmen, and middle school will play 18-20 games in total. Throw in the Jr. Football League @ 6 games per week x 8 weeks = 48 more games. Finally, the CC Band hosts the annual marching band festival with 20 or more bands stomping on the field and you get a surface that is maximized on usage. We can agree that the Red Devil $ figure to use the field is out of line IMO. Oh, and her name is Sharon Alexander.

Campbell County's football field.... Wow!
You say "lets" as if we are all agreeing with you! What a ridiculous, misinformed, and unfair statement. What rock have you been hiding under for the past 4 or 5 years? Concerning the field, this will be Year #3 I believe for the bermuda turf. It is way to early to evaluate the condition of this field. The CC grounds crew will take great pride in getting the field ready for the start of the season. The condition of the field last year was the best it's been in the past 20+ years. The crumb rubber has provided a softer landing base and IMO has cut down on player injuries. As I recall, there is 20,000 lbs. of this product on the playing surface.

Austin Studer - EKU
Great decision by Austin. He was fun to watch last season making catches that left defenders scratching their heads (uh...helmets). Look for the Bishop kid to be next in a line of great CC receivers (in '08).

Campbell Co 45 Brossart 36 (37th Dist. Chamionship)
Congratulations to the Lady Camels and Coach Cravens on their District Championship victory last evening. You didn't quit even though your opponent seemed to have you "on the ropes" early in the 4th Quarter. Your hustle, Defense, and Camel Pride carried you through. I was very impressed with the rebounding of Brianna Peters and the foul shooting of Kristin White late in the game. Great choice of Brianna Peters for Tourney MVP. She was the margin of difference in both the Scott and Brossart games IMO (any only a Sophomore). The Lady 'Stangs are also to be congratulated on the way they played and approach the game. They are not very big but they are quick, shoot well, and have very good ball movement on offense. Good Luck to both Teams in the Regional Tournament!:thumb:
