The Camels avenge and early season loss to the Mustangs by winning the championship. Great game. Tied after 1 quarter and Campbell down by 2 at halftime. Mustangs came out hot and took a 6 point lead but the Camels fought back. Kristin White and Brianna Peters made critical free throws down the stretch. White was high scorer with 14 points.

Great game for the Camels!! You hung in there and did not give up even when it was not going your way. Great free throw shooting at the end by Peters and White (j.j.). Now keep this intensity and take the next step. Great atmosphere as these neighbors battled for the 37th District Title. Now boys...its up to you tomorrow to make it 2 for 2!! The girls showed you the way.

Congrats to the lady Camels on a very nice win always nice to beat Brossart especially when it is for the District title. Best of luck in the Region.

I would say yes and no. Campbell County lost 53 - 57 in December. They were winning the majority of the game in December and lost it in the 4th quarter. At the sametime I guess you could call it an upset because Brossart was the #1 seed and did not win the tournament.

Mustangs can't take their fifth straight District. Good game and good luck to both teams next week in the regional tournament.

Campbell gets rewarded for winning the district by drawing Bracken Co. who they should beat whereas Brossart plays Mason Co. who they lost to by about 30 points or so earlier this season. Winning the district in this case was monumental. Still see Montgomery and either Mason Co. or Clark Co. in the finals. Looks like Mac will bow out of another regional by getting the worse draw of the tournament for a district winner.

Just wondering why you think Campbell should beat Bracken County when Bracken Co. has beaten them the last two years with this year on their home floor by 12. Just wondering why you thought Campbell should win?

You're right Big Daddy, this really isn't a reward, is it? I spoke to a CC fan who told me that the first game really wasn't that close. Bracken outrebounded the Camels by 20+ and CC never pressed the entire game. When I saw the bears play near the end of the season, there guards had alot of trouble with presses. So their inside people couldn't get the ball. If CC doesn't press and Brackens guards get a free ride up the floor, Bracken could win again.

Congratulations to the Lady Camels and Coach Cravens on their District Championship victory last evening. You didn't quit even though your opponent seemed to have you "on the ropes" early in the 4th Quarter. Your hustle, Defense, and Camel Pride carried you through.

 

I was very impressed with the rebounding of Brianna Peters and the foul shooting of Kristin White late in the game. Great choice of Brianna Peters for Tourney MVP. She was the margin of difference in both the Scott and Brossart games IMO (any only a Sophomore).

 

The Lady 'Stangs are also to be congratulated on the way they played and approach the game. They are not very big but they are quick, shoot well, and have very good ball movement on offense.
