This Friday, 10/19 marks the final "Regular Season" game ever played at Bob Miller Stadium (vs. Boone Co @ 7:00 PM). Anyone ever connected with Campbell County Football (players, coaches, cheerleaders, Band of Pride, etc) is invited to come and participate in a ceremony closing out one of the best game viewing venues in NKY (except for the wooden light poles).

The first game ever played in this stadium occurred in 1944 (69 years ago). Some of the original cast of players will be in attendance. All are invited to come and celebrate with us!!

Of course the new stadium at the high school is under construction and will be ready for the 2013 season.:thumb:

BTW...Here is a recent picture (taken on 10/14/12) of the new stadium. It will hold 3,700 fans. Please note that the track has been poured and the synthetic turf is currently being installed. The new vocational/tech center is to the right of the picture.

I think I like the character of the current stadium more than the sterile look of the new one. I'm sure there's some advantages to the new construction but it will probably never have the feel of the old one once it's gone

Years ago my daughter played soccer there. Is the football field where the old soccer field was? Is baseball off to the right of the pic?

I believe this is taken from near 27 and the Baseball field is behind and to the left. The Soccer field that is to the right of the baseball field is still there. I don't believe there was anything being played here, it was rolling hills and possible a pond before it was excavated.

The new field is coming along. While it may look sterile now, when Turf and track is all done and has the logos on it, it should look pretty good. It will never match the character of the old one. Probably the best in NKY. I also like Dayton for character

As the picture was taken, US #27 was to my back. The baseball field is sandwiched between the new football field and soccer facility (far end of the picture).

It is one of my favorite places to watch a game.

This years Campbell Co./NewCath game was the 1st time I had ever been to this stadium. I would agree great place to watch a game, however I take Bellevue's stadium over all of them. JMO

I played at Campbell, Newport, Bellvue and Dayton when I was at Lloyd many a moon ago. I liked them all and as a former scout I loved to watch games from these venue's and they will be missed. I wish Campbell County the best in the future and this will also be a nice place. As for Bob Miller he was a Head Football Coach at Campbell County in the late 60's when I played and I think was AD later down the road. I really liked him and got along with him. JD

Great stadium that should be remembered with all its history. In their glory days under Coach Miller, he used to have em wear "Beat Highlands" stickers on their helments back when that was the big game to see who went to the playoffs. This was back in the late 60's and early 70's mind you, well before the internet wars. Gotta love the memory.

Who was Bob Miller?

He also stepped up and coached Newport in '94 when their coach bailed on them a couple of weeks before doubles. He was in his 70's at the time. I don't believe that they won the game, but it showed how much he cared about young people that he would coach, what I believe was, his last season in a no win situation. He helped cultivate the group that started Newport's "mini" renaisance in the late 90s.
