  1. 1. Cov Cath- Clearly the top team in AAA with wins over Highlands twice, Johnson Central, LexCath, and Bowling Green. Undefeated in KY 2. Highlands-Watched CCH beat them twice and never felt comfortable, it just seems that with Dale at the helm and their talent they are always dangerous 3. LexCath-CCH learned a little something about how not to manage a clock, and the fact that you don't get into a track meet with a team that thrives on track meets 4. Johnson Central- Very good one dimensional team, when they compliment there running game with a passing game watchout 5. Bowling Green- Honestly was not impressed, but it could have just been a bad night for the purples as they had many turnovers.
  2. Horrible weather and Bad timing, really crappy that U of L controlled the KHSAA enough that they could make teams and kids travel hours to play at 11:30 am and have the marquee game be on a Thursday night.
  3. Dead on Bluesport, this group had an amazing growth over the course of the year
  4. What a dedicated lady, she never misses a detail and is CONSTANTLY working and thinking about CCH Football Emailed her a question the other day and she emailed me back at 4 o'clock in the AM !!!!!! She is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week team mom
  5. Dead on Leatherneck, just like on your side of the Licking, Highlands is a huge success because of those exact reasons
  6. Without being a total Homer, but since I don't know about the grades and personalities of many other local high school kids I thought I'd bring up a few more Colonels that are doing unbelievable in the classroom and on the field. I believe all three of these guys are in the top 10 in their Senior class at CCH and are having tremendous years on the football field. Also very class kids who their school should be very proud of, it kind of makes you realize why CCH might be having such a great year. This class of Seniors is very special Will Geisen LB Pete Sutton TE Shane Popham K
  7. Nice comments 2short, I'm sure Brandon appreciates the accolades because as you say he is very soft spoken and until he starting running the football this year no one outside of CCH seemed to notice him and unfortunately by the looks of the all-star voting some of the coaches still don't seem to get it !!!! These are the type of kids that should be celebrated:ylsuper:
  8. Ryle is beat down like all NKY AAAA teams against X, Trinity or Male 34-7
  9. Seemingly if you ask the Ryle contigent All kidding aside, very good football player, very big and quick
  10. Much the later, Ryle allong with everyone in AAAA is very average. CCH played two of Ryle's closest competitors and smoked Boone County and played horribly against Dixie and still won 28-7. AAAA in NKy has been extremely week the last two years and Ryle was very much the benefit of a week district and a VERY easy run through the playoffs. Don't get me wrong I really hope Ryle plays well but if you look at the scores over the last few years Highlands and CCH have consistently beaten Ryle, Boone, and Dixie very badly. As far as the comment that Ryle has improved dramatically since the scrimmage CCH is light years ahead of 3 months ago. They have their QB and O line playing extroidary allong with the D, RB, WR's and special teams which was not the case in August. They are a very complete team for a AAA school, just ask Johnson Central and Highlands
  11. Once again, obviously a joke by kids, did you ever do anything at 15 or 16 that was a little silly or stupid? Take it for what it was a cheer, that chip on your shoulder is growing
  12. In case I missed something there is a little difference between a grown man that's a coach making a comment versus 15 and 16 year old kids. Besides if you lost your sense of humor in the last week or so that cheer was OBVIOUSLY very tongue in cheek, a joke in other words. Don't take things so personal from a group of high school kids and certainly don't compare the two.
  13. So is this a Eastern Ky inferiority complex or a public/private thing ? It seems like your talking about Eastern mountain schools beating northern powers. But I believe you are dead on in your comments, good schools from anywhere can beat HHS or CCH, but what they have built should'nt be riduculed it should be revered and respected and something to aim at not say well we can't beat them anyway since they have such a HUGE advantage. JC and Rock county are good programs and don't need comments like Matney's that trivialize their progress and trivialize the work and preperation from schools like HHS and CCH that have worked year after year to build these programs
  14. Obviously something said in the heat of the moment and none of us should have ever heard it. Don't agree as other than 4 or 5 parochial schools the state football has been dominated with names like Male, Danville, Highlands, Beechwood, Russell, Pikeville, Bowling Green, Boyle County, Mayfield, Paducha Tighlman, etc. etc. But as long as LexCath, CovCath, Trinity, St. X and NewCath win anything the public schools will have issues. But as the Guru has mentioned numerous times EVERYONE has open enrollment and teams like Highlands and Beechwood have dominated there classes over the last 15 or 20 years. Ask Dale Mueller if he can't compete, looks like he's been doing just fine to me. It comes down to great coaching, longevity as this does not happen over night, a repeatable system, community or school interest in football and a great feeder(grade school) football system. From the looks of it JC is building a powerhouse in the mountains, what has happened down there in three short years is nothing short of amazing but to use this excuse I believe minimizes how far you've come and how much work your kids and coaching staff have done. JC should be congratulated on an unbelievable season, it's a shame where talking about this instead
  15. Anybody seen both Trinity and CovCath play ? I'd be curious as to what kind of game that would be. At the beginning of the season I think Trinity, St. X and Male may have been a good ways ahead of the AAA school, but I'm not sure anymore, CCH has improved immensly in the last month with Bleser and the O line playing tremendous football allong side an already tough D and great running backs, receivers and top flight special teams. I think that would be a fun game
  16. Dead on pretty boy Leave Brown and Kater off 1st and 2nd team ? There were 8 better DB's than Brown this year and 10 better O lineman than Kater ? There were'nt 8 better football players than Brown this season much less at his position. In the playoffs alone he has 3 interceptions, 30 solo tackles, played great cover corner, ran for around 300 yards with 3 touchdowns and plays virtually every play of the game covering the teams best WR with Joe on the sidelines, returns punts, kicks, etc. I know some of the CCH kids and they believe that Kater is one of the best football players they have ever played with and feel he is the best O lineman on the team. Kid just blows up guys every week and by the end of the year was doing it starting both ways !!!!
  17. Hopefully just a sprain and out a few weeks As you said old guy Great kid and hoping to see him back by Christmas !!!!!!
  18. Understand CCH's Billy Shult had a major knee injury in today's scrimmage. This would be a HUGE loss for Cov Cath as Billy is the only returning post man and just absolutely does all the dirty work from rebounds, boxing out, steels, great post D, etc. I hope for Billy and CCH that this is only a sprain and nothing torn as this would be a shame to end his CCH career this way Hope the tests go well Billy, we'll be praying for you
  19. And can you believe this kid was not one of the 10 players nominated by the coaches from Northern Kentucky for the all-state team ? Wow !!!!!
  20. Great game and even better to hear that the JC kid is doing ok, that was a sad and scary way to end the game. Very even game in the 1st half that had us CCH folks scared to death. CCH just wore them down in the second half and JC could not stop either the run or the pass. Nice stadium ,nice fans and great burgers !!!!!
  21. Relax, I get it, it's obvious this it's a silly way of doing things(much like the Major League's picking a player from each team for their All Star game) Just agreeing with the previous quote that it did'nt look like the 24 best players. I know how the voting works, just not agreeing with it. Sorry next time I'll keep my opinions to myself on a message board filled with opinions
  22. Good luck to the Breds and the Raiders We all should be very proud of our NKY boys we have VERY good football in the class sizes we play in.
  23. Could'nt agree with you more, but when the coaching staff of the top team in N. Ky misses the meeting and the nominating it does'nt help the end result. Congrats to the award winners
  24. And I did just that once it was confirmed that he was not there As I said in my past 2 or 3 back it is very very sad that CCH's Head Coach did not show up and he owes his players an apology
