  1. Any stats ? Did'nt have any info yet and was wondering who played well and who did'nt for the Colonels
  2. Rather ironic since everyone of your previous posts in this thread were insulting !!!!!! or atleast making an attempt to be inflamatory
  3. No doubt, soph. year that kid could just flat out shoot and last year it seems like he was forgotten about, plus all of the off the court issues with this team. Glad to see him land on his feet.
  4. Not sure what your getting at, just read the link from Jody Demling for the second time and I get how they are selected, I also get how BGP is done. Two completely different ideas but both net two good polls and with the same core of players being on both. Trinity through the coaches votes had 33% of the starters on offense and CCH through the nominations and BGP selection had 14% of the total 36. What's your point on the CJ comment ?
  5. Brandon played quite a bit ( around 10 to 12 minutes) and had a few points and assists. Hopefully the ankle hold up, apparantly so far so good as he had no complaints afterward.
  6. Congrats to all who made the team, I was going to respond to some of the negative sentiment on N. KY but the Guru took care of that for me. His most valid point: If you want a kid on the team NOMINATE HIM !!!!!! I nominated 3 kids who all made it, and I'm sure they received countless other nominations also. Don't come in after the fact after you have'nt nominated them, have'nt seen them play and make comments. This years CCH team had an extraordinary 7 or 8 players who would have been stars NO MATTER WHO THEY PLAYED FOR. As the Guru mentioned you have to look at each guy on an individual basis not an overall number, they were all certainly deserving.
  7. Correct, I forgot about the last two. When they're both below 50 it does'nt matter much CCH REALLY neads Billy down low, someone to do the dirty work of defense, rebounding, all the little things Billy does Also seemed to have no flow to the offense and Coach L seems to have 4 or 5 guys running the point at times. I hope someone fits into the role whether it's Bondick, Kurt, Rolle, TJ or Brown when he's back. They look lost out there right now.
  8. This game was painful to watch from start to finish. Both teams had to shoot around 20% and I believe NCC went around 2 for 14 from the free throw line !!!!!!!! At one point they missed 10 straight. This was like watching a 3rd grade girls game, except I don't want to insult the girls. Side note Kiernan went down in the third with a knee or ankle injury. Sure hope he's ok young man has a bright future at UL
  9. 1700 YARDS AND 115 TACKLES !!!! MAN WHAT A SEASON, HE AND GRAY WILLED THAT TEAM TO THE FINALS CONGRATS TO ALL
  10. Was seen by the doctors the other day and still has a Grade 1 to 2 sprained ankle that never healed from football. Will be out another couple weeks
  11. BB seems to be having lingering ankle issues from football That would severely hamper his ability to start and stop and cut on offense and especially on D. Good to see Bo back in getting time The big men and a return of Billy are a must for this team to have a chance at the region
  12. that's about right, certainly not to the top two spots but top 4 or 5 is legit
  13. I'm half way with you, my guess is SK moves up but everyone knows that CCH was without 2 or 3 starters and don't see St. Henry making that big of a jump
  14. Billy was expected to be out 4 to 5 weeks and that was 2 weeks ago when the injury occured. Look for him back around the Holiday tournament time or shortly after as long as all goes well Good luck Billy we need you !!!!!
  15. Well I was going to keep my mouth shut on NKYBoy but now Tiger1 had to go and stick his foot in his mouth. You should'nt make comments on things you have no idea of which you are speaking. Brandon is your typical quiet, hard working, smaller guy that never get's his due. From the time he started playing basketball Brandon was the smallest guy on the court and 5432 was dead on Brandon as he DOMINATED grade school basketball. He played on Blessed Sacrament teams that beat very good competition(including Billy Schult and Todd Jacobs led St. Pius) and would score virtually all of his teams points. BB would often have 30 and 40 point games in grade school. Brandon also played for the Rockets and the Tar Heels in AAU and started in front of point guards that now start for Holy Cross, NewCath, and Brossart and was often the leading scorer with players that now start for 4 or 5 local teams. Brandon's AAU team won the state one year with him going toe to toe and beating Duran Jefferson's squad. Ask the football coaches if they underestimated Brandon. He was a grade school stud in football and won the Mr. Spartan award his 8th grade year and set numerous records at RB, yet when he got to CCH the little guy got switched to defense and never went back till this past spring when he went to the coaches and asked to play RB. Sharing the duties he went on this year to have over 1000 yards rushing, numerous huge punt and kickoff returns, 4 interceptions and played great cover corner, played virtually every play of every game and allot believe was the heart and sole of the team. Not the biggest star for sure but probably the MVP of the state champ squad. So how does that relate to basketball well it looks to be the same issue, small, quiet hard working guy that as soon as he got to CCH they took him out of the offense. He was just a little 5-6 point guard freshmen year, who oh by the way started at point and led his team to win the region freshmen title and then the region JV title as a sophomore. So the point is don't underestimate the kid, if given the chance just like football Brandon will most certainly rise to the occasion. Next time Tiger1 get your facts right before you guess
  16. My vote would go to Yeagle, not being familiar with some of the names I can only go off of my local Northern Ky knowledge. This guy was amazing winning 8 state titles in 13 or 14 seasons and what I believe may be even more impressive is his record against my Colonels. I believe in one stretch Yeagle's Beechie's beat CovCath 8 or 9 out of 10 years !!!!!!! We had good football teams that won state championships during that stretch but Yeagle's school that had about 1/3 the boys enrollment owned the Colonels
  17. Rather lackluster against a A foe, it's obvious that we have become a BIG game for St. Henry and Faust's boys come to play
  18. Congrats to St. H and especially coach Faust, I am beyond impressed everytime I watch one of his teams. If you were at the game 2 years ago when they beat a VERY good CCH team with much less talent it was obvious his ability. His teams do not make big mistakes, they are extremely fundemental: good passing, don't turn it over, rebound well, etc. etc. While as a CCH fan I don't like to see our boys lose it could'nt be by a better coach and kids when it's St. Henry. Good luck the rest of the year
  19. Cov Cath slips by another one without their Seniors 63-56
  20. Schools tend to make room for a teacher when they are head football coaches and teachers tend to move schools when they could become a head football coach. That being said I have no reason to believe that he would be a candidate other than the fact that the players, parents and staff are very impressed by him. He may however have no aspirations to be a head coach and as you said be fine with moving with Rhodenberg.
  21. Congrats to Ryle, I'm really impressed the way they pulled the AAAA in Northern Ky up this year as I believe it has been very week the last few. The school is still very young but is growing in size, alumni, and obviously achievement in all sports year after year. With the $'s now living in Union and Richwood I believe the expectations are there that these people expect to succeed and will
  22. As you mentioned they will be much better off once Brown and Bovard return, but with having a good group of guards already they REALLY need Billy back inside. They'll be fine by the new year !!!!
  23. If his Defensive Coordinator wanted the job I think it would be his. Coach Hautmann( don't know if I spelled that one correctly) has huge respect from the parents, players and administration.
  24. HS, Agreed on all your comments, also anytime a Cincy guy comes over here I think that you'll hear his name come up everytime there are job openings. It's now happened at the end of this year as it did last year. But as you mentioned unless Bacon and Purcell are combining why would he go back to the GCL North, which is a fine league but where he came from and anyone would have to say a step backwards. In the same vein as you mentioned in an earlier post that IF he had the chance to go to Elder, or Moeller or LaSalle he would jump in a heart beat. How could you begrudge a guy from taking a position in one of the top leagues in the COUNTRY. So that being said IF the Elder coach is leaving(which this is total speculation at this point) and you were John Rhodenberg and are from Cincy, coached at LaSalle and McNick and just won the state championship at CCH heck yeah I'd interview and go after that job !!!!!!! So for everyone else over in Ft. Thomas and around town I'd quite speculating until you here something of validity other than internet chatter and someone's brother's little sister at a Christmas party told you he was leaving.
