Covington Catholic v. St. Henry Predictions

Recommended Posts

I have no idea what ST H has this year..they are always well coached and dangerous in the underdog roll...don't panic if these Colonels take some bad hits...(not saying this will be one), but I think they are as talented and deep as last year, maybe a little more; they simply look like they're getting used to a new dance partner at this point. With that said, let's say CCH by 13.

Am I correct thinking that St. Henry has won the last 2 years?

CCH won the matchup 66-49 last year. The year before that is when St. Henry ended CCH's streak of what I think was 28 straight 9th region wins. When St. Henry won that night I think it had been something like 704 days since the last CCH region loss.

And now that the history lesson is over... I'll take CCH by double digits, around the 13-16 margin.

Thanks. I couldn't remember, but I did know that St. Henry broke the streak.

This has to do with a few things. Billy Schult being out is a huge benefit for St. Henry because they have troube rebounding. Billy is beast and I'm sure he is upset he's going to miss this one since a lot of his summer ball is played with St. Henry guys.

At times St. Henry will run the floor with 4 guards. This St. Henry team is a little different than most St. Henry teams because they have been running and gunnin. They also press more than usual. Although I don't know if they will be able to press much against the good gaurd play of CCH.

Also this game is at St. Henry and even though the rivalry isn't consistant, Holbrook Hall is a tough place to play because the rims are a little tighter than most gyms in the 9th. Its a tough shooters gym and CCH has shooters.

The most intriguing match up is going to between Lenhof and Jacobs of course. Both players are very good friends and have played with and against each other for a long time. Both have good jump shots and both make their teams much better. Who will get who in foul trouble?

Also lets not forget CCH is missing a starter in Bovard and a potential starter in Brandon Brown. Lots of inexperience for CCH. This would be a game that having Cahill would have paid off.

This has the potential to be a good one

Good Luck CRU!!
