  1. If your thinking Yeagle the is NO WAY he ever gets hired at CCH, I'll leave the comments out as I don't care to get banned.
  2. By the way all you need to do is look at enrollment at Catholic schools in Northern Ky to understand that the tuition is not a barrier. CCH is at it's highest in decades, while Brossart, NCC, St. Henry, Holy Cross, etc. etc all have full schools that continue to grow with great academics and atheletics
  3. Very hypothetical question, and of course the hypothetical answer could be YES as the school has the abilities to do what other schools cannot. That being said Highlands is going nowhere, they have been a power for generations and I see no end to that. I think the question should be with the right coach will anyone ever get close to CCH and HHS again. These last few years it's been embarrasing the product put on the field by some big schools drawing from some nice areas with great peewee systems ( see Dixie, Boone, etc.) and until Ryle stepped up late this year the gap between those two schools and everyone else just gets bigger and bigger an bigger ............
  4. CCH is at it's largest enrollment in years and years, apparantly the $'s are not hurting enrollment at this point
  5. First great job by a bunch of hard working Bulldogs and their coach, their fans and parents should be very proud of the way they've played and carried themselves. The last two years with all the problems they've had these guys could have folded up tent and gone home but they've done the opposite. As far as Holmes being the favorite when all the regulars come back that's a bit of a stretch, they were beaten by CCH without Billy Schult, by St. Henry, by Simon Kenton not to mention another couple games all at full squad before the suspensions. That being said CCH does not look particularly good right now but is finding ways to win their games which is impressive. Not sure why Coach L had B Brown, Billy Schult and Luke Maile all on the bench the last few minutes of the game when those 3 looked awfully good in the final minutes of the Highlands game just a week ago, and you have a player that had barely played at any time in the game in one of their places ? Good luck to the Dawgs the rest of the way, oh and I agree let the kids who are working their tail off and keeping there nose clean keep playing. You add Duran to the mix and they could be awfully tough to beat. There's been enough drama the last few years these kids just give you effort and heart
  6. Agreed Sir Mix Alot, this team has been loads of talent, loads of hype and loads of problems and dissapointments for 3 years now. They show up with that attitude and they'll get shown the door early
  7. No question, unfortunately we are no match for the Boone county system in regards to either. That being said some guys don't look at those things if it's their alma mater, don't have any idea how close Mike still is to CCH
  8. No complaints about the state championship although as much talent this team had I believe that numerous coaches would have brought home the trophy. I believe he won despite himself many times until the last two games when he coached very very well. I guess it's just a disappointment for the program and the kids, starting over for them with all new assistants, new head coach, new program is a pain in the rear for all. School has to hire a new head coach and new teacher to fill his spot. Just allot of hastles for a guy that was here for a year and a half(two seasons). I also think if this WAS the Elder job my thoughts and comments would be different as you could'nt pass that up, but Bacon......
  9. Hautman is a LaSalle and Notre Dame grad, I'm 99.9% sure that he is a Bacon grad and that had to be the big pull. What you might be thinking of is they were both on LaSalle's staff together before he went to McNick.
  10. Also, I hope this teaches the administration a little lesson on hiring this time around. I know it's always difficult to tell about people and you have no idea what someone might say in an interview but you could see this from the time he walked in the door. Maybe they should have listened to Coach Ray who was Rhodenberg's ONLY dissenting vote during the search.
  11. unfortunately this looked like this from the beginning, shame for the school and kids who have to do this all over again Bad move as far as career wise, maybe just wanted to be at his alma mater and where his kid was going but what a step backwards
  12. CCH 58 Holmes 44 (Austin Hill might have 30 of them)
  13. BTW B Brown offered today by Brown University in the Ivy League while on his trip to Providence for his official visit I believe would be completely appropriate with his last name !!!!!
  14. Going to be a very interesting year next year and specifically early. Lot's of new names as 19 out of the 24 starters graduated( I'm including K and P for those wondering about my math). Buckley will be the star of the show and look for great things from Pat VanSant who will have to go both ways, VonLehman and Bruggeman at LB, Furnish at either Safety or QB if they go that way. Could take a few BIG lumps early with the VERY tough schedule including Elder, LaSalle and Louisville St. X.
  15. BTW no Brandon Brown tonight as he is out of town for an official visit for football. No problem for CCH as they will win by double digits
  16. Blowout, Holmes is crumbling Holy Cross 57 Holmes 40
  17. Uh, I was there and no doubt last night he was the best player on the floor. The 1st half was absolutely unstoppable. CCH defense revolved around stopping him and they could'nt do it no matter who they put in. I was 2 rows behind the bench and Coach L was getting so steamed at one point I saw him scream at BB "Do you think you can stop him" "Well then get in there" In the second half he looked tired and it looked like CCH was trying to deny him the ball more than stop him when he had it. Simple concept if he does'nt have the ball he can't score unfortunately as we all know sometimes that's easier said than done
  18. It was a desperation shot, whoever got the ball on the inbounds had to take the shot A little ugly from the stands but what a 4th quarter by CCH to come back from 7 down at one point to go 7 up and then Highlands comes back to 1 !!!!! It was a typical CCH vs. HHS anything, down to the wire , loud loud fans on both sides and a great game. I think it was about 85 degrees in the place by the end !!!! As mentioned Brandon Brown's defensive spark plus changing the D to a full court late in the 3rd and the entire 4th was the key. As usual Coach L played a ton of guys early(maybe too many changes but we won't get into that) but the same 6 or 7 played the last 8 or 9 minutes with the best lineup seeming to be: Schult, Brown, Bovard, TJ and Maile, good defense, good ball handlers and free throw shooters.
  19. Looks like the Christmas walk season is over
  20. CCH by 12 While last year's score was completely exagerated (CCH's best game of the year and undoubtely PB's worst) I can't see them making up that much ground
  21. Hope that knee is good as this game is winnable without Billy Good luck Billy as stated by many on here we need you in the lineup !!!!!
