Covington Catholic 29 Highlands 27
That Watterson game was a throw out game just like last year, horrible timing, guys are very tired and banged up after their September stretch. Thankfully that one seems to be behind them

I think that's good enough :thumb:

Covington Catholic 29 Highlands 27
Agreed and that's still with a tender ankle, if you noticed he had on a black ankle brace that he's been wearing since his severe sprain versus Watterson

Covington Catholic 29 Highlands 27
That was absolutely comical, they called Brent Buckely: Brandon Brown for 2 quarters, they called Shane Popham one of the better kickers in Northern Ky ? At one point the play goes to the 43 and he calls a run to the 30? How about the ball on the 52 !!!!!! He called the wrong down approximately 5 times !!!! Wow anybody that has a brain, watches football and can form sentances could do better

Covington Catholic 29 Highlands 27
Your kidding right Colonel Fan, I guess if you go 9-0 versus Little Sisters of the poor your supposed to be rated higher than the two teams with the toughest schedules in the state

Covington Catholic 29 Highlands 27
Unbelievable, the monkey is off the back The shame is they are the two best teams in the state in AAA and they have to play each other again in 2 weeks

Covington Catholic at Highlands Predictions
Give some of what your drinking !!!! I hope I'm wrong but I see another tight HHS vs. CCH and Highlands finding a way to win as usual HHS 21 CCH 17

Hardest Hitters you've seen or played against?
Hardest I've see this year is Sam Flynn from CCH and the Left Outside Linebacker from St. X Cincy, can't remember his name but layed a few CCH boys out. Flynn delivers a handfull of big hits every game

Who has the best O-Line in NKY?
You must be watching different games than me, I believe the O Line for CCH is there weekest link and will be their achilles heal versus Highlands. If mediocre(yes I said mediocre) teams like Dixie, Beechwood, and NewCath were in CCH's backfield all night what's a faster, atheletic, big team like Highlands going to do to CCH's O line. Bleser has had little if any time, hurried and sacked numerous times in virtually all games. I think the O Lines weekness has been masked a bit by a great receiving corp and two very good running backs in Brown and Buckley.

Zach Kiernan has Verballed to Louisville
Very cool, congrats Zach He has been a man-child size wise for a long time, once he focuses on one sport he'll be a stud. He's just always played baseball, basketball, football, etc and you see guys all the time who decide to put all their focus into one spot and make tremendous leaps forward(I'm sure that's what UofL has in mind)

South Oldham at CovCath Predictions
Cov Cath looks slow out of the by week and allot of injured guys coming back for first game. They wear them down late and win 24-10

nothing torn, just a seperation of the shoulder. Originally they thought he tore ligaments or whatever the heck is in your shoulder but original thoughts were wrong

Comparing Highlands and CovCath
Believe it or not this years Senior class at CCH beat the Bluebirds by 30 or more freshmen year. Now were talking about how Highlands is clearly better and will definitely win the 1st contest. What happened between freshmen year and now ? The only thing I can conclude is the coaching and the program. Highland's kid seem to dramatically improve as they move allong, not sure this can be said at CCH. If Bleser does not cut down on mistakes and start clicking with his receivers the offense will struggle dramatically against a quick Highlands D. Throw that in with the fact that at present Brent Buckley and Brandon Brown are sidelined with injuries and it could be a long game if played today. The Colonels have to get there guys healthy in the next few weeks(Furnish, Buckley, Brown, Wise, VanSant), they are just not very deap past their top 20 or so guys and if 4 or 5 of those are hurt or hobbled there in trouble.

Does'nt look like it, Brent Buckley should be back after the bye week and will be your starter with Brown(as long as he's OK) as your backup

Agreed 100%

After Brandon was hurt they taped him up and he said he wanted to go back in the game. They asked him to do certain things(running down the sidelines, stopping on a spot and turning, etc. etc.) unfornately he did them all and went back in the game. He returned a 40 yard kickoff and intercepted a pass playing on what is either a severely sprained, broken, or torn ligaments in his ankle. He will see Colisimo on Monday, good look Brandon we'll all hope for the best.

Agreed, can't GIVE them 28 points on turnovers and a couple bad injuries with Brandon Brown and Kyle Furnish going down. That's 2/3 of the Defensive backfield down with bad ankle sprains, they fear Brandon's may be broken yet he continued to play the rest of the game. I've said it the last two years really a Stupid, Stupid game to play right after St. Xavier. as you said a meaningless game

Bishop Watterson (OH) at Covington Catholic Predictions
Cov Cath 21 Watterson 14 CCH had multiple injuries, looked like they had a long bus ride and just plain looked flat last year. They got smoked in every aspect 0f the game against a much lesser team than Moeller or St. X who they had just played. New year, no let down and this time Waterson get's beat after the long bus ride

Beechwood at NCC (Sat) predictions
Tough one, I watched them both play CCH and while both had trouble moving the ball NewCath's D Line seemed to dominant CCH's O line even in defeat. I think NewCath is much more physical but Beechwood seems to have more speed (Bankamper, Kyotious(however you spell that) so ........ Beechwood 21 NewCath 17

NKY Mid-Season in Review
Mexitucky you nailed it on all accounts, my only change might be Biggest pleasant surprise would be Brandon Brown of CCH. DB and special teams player get's inserted into the starting lineup after Buckley goes down mid-way through the Dixie game and the smallest guy on the field responds by running for over 350 yards, caught passes for around 100 and scored 6 touchdowns in the last three games(Dixie, NewCath, and Beechwood) and has been the star of the game against Dixie and Beechwood !!!!

CovCath @ Cincy St. Xavier Predictions
Perfectly stated on the schedule I hope your right on the score but I'm not holding my breath
-
CovCath @ Cincy St. Xavier Predictions
I hope your right, there would'nt be anybody happier than me to see it but I just don't see it happening. Defense keeps them in the game till 3rd or 4th quarter(just like Elder) until the depth, size and speed takeover and St. X wins 28-7. Offense just has not clicked well enough to take on one of the top 5 teams in the nation dressing 60 kids versus the 130 Varsity kids that X show up with.
