Trinity will not win the title in 08. They will be a good team that turns in a good playoff run but will come up short. Sorry to say but the run has come to an end. T comes back hard and fast in 09.

I think some people on this board should look at all the D1 teams in the country and then tell me Tim is to small to play at that level. He might not make it to the big time programs but he can play at a small D1 school. I have seen it.

They have the talent but after that I am not sure they have the rest of what it takes. I would like to see Dunbar become a top tier team it would be good for 6A.

Trinity has won some very close games in the playoffs over the last five years that had they gone the other way and I am talking some last second wins against public programs I do not think we would be having this discussion. Those years are 2002, 2005 and 2006. It is an easy analysis to do, that is three of the last six titles. I have said this for a long time that when someone besides Bob R stays at a now 6A school long enough to build a program that is a good coach with a good staff we will see more parity. I will submit 96-00 as examples of this. Trinity lost to four public programs in the playoffs during that time span. Numbers do not play as big of a role in this as some would think. I will not say it doesn't help but it is not the major factor to great success.

JR If my comment was hurtful toward you I am sorry, my comment was directed at those individuals from your side of the fence that feel it is important to make comments about gifts from Santa. I will follow your lead and refrane from such trivial comments all the best to you and yours. On a side note your son played a great game good luck to him in his future.

As long as Bob has the shot at beating the next greatest team at X he has something too stick around for. Or better yet he likes all the gifts MG keeps giving him and the Trinity team so why leave. enjoy the off season.

I really do not find fault with the call on 4 and 1 to run the ball. Trinity had not stopped the running game all night and really it was a higher percentage play in my book then the kick. easy to second guess at this stage but for me not a bad call on the part of X. It could be said that T had some bone head calls as well. Up 21-14 after the recovery by T we go for the endzone which I like but then make some not so good calls to at least be in FG range. The call before half to not sit on the ball could also come in to question. Having said all of this the game played out as it was going to given the calls made and how the plays were exacuted. Both coaches made good and bad calls as did the officials. The kids on both sides played a game for the ages. I am sorry that the kids at X had to lose the game they played so very well but at the same time I am just as happy for my boys at T. Great season for a lot of schools this year our first in the new format. I look forward to the new season and all the hipe it will bring. Happy holidays and a Merry Christmas to all.

What about Coverdale at T no one said it was presently a head coach might be someone that has been a head coach and has good friends in Ohio JMHO.

In the end we are all blessed to be apart of something so special as these two schools. What they have become and what this game of football has taught so many of us both past and present. My hope is that we get a game for the ages one that will surpass so many of the great games that have come before. To all the players on both teams lay it all on the line leave nothing in the tank and no matter the final score always remember you are forever a Rock or a Tiger.

1. Dropped passes. Prone to a couple a game although Have decreased lately. 2. Our offense has been sluggish at times and been bailed out by a big pass play or two that Trinity does not give up very often. 3. Still not a good 3rd and long team. 4. Defense has not played a complete game all year, several blowouts. How will we respond to a couple or more Trinity scores???? 5. Play calling was questionable in 2005 State Game, we stopped running the ball once Curley went down....Must establish the run early and often. 6. Jumping offsides when Trinity mimicks the snap count, ie 2005 and called for against Boone Trinity is well coached and will use our speed against us with Phillips' screens and draws; all he needs is a very small window and he is gone. I refuse to take the bait your guys are offering. I feel we were a couple scores better in 2005 and look what happened....This game will be a battle. Go Tigers We gave up number two twice in the sept meeting and BC who is not known for it's passing game burned us for almost two quarters. Sorry you need to delete that one.

I will give one that has been consistant all year and is seen to be true on film with study. Z for X does not throw the ball to his left well at all!!!! so how is that for a weakness, we should force all plays to his running left.

CR you are correct I don't even think we should show up. I just don't see how we can beat the best D X has by some accounts ever had. We have never scored more than 28pts on X and have not seen that many since 2000 during Bob's first year. The Trinity D has not stopped the run all year when we are playing a balanced team this is going to be a major problem in this game. Hety it is like MG said to his LB's before the regular season game " Their Two are better then our Three". He must have been right as we got beat. :scared:

Very good points. Unless we go on the attack on D ( pressure from different gaps) and make the OL from X think this is going to be as long a night as was in Sept. We will not score more than 20 pts in this game maybe not even that many. The D is going to have to make some big stops in this game. My heart says T but the logic just keeps pointing to X. BC came with a great game plan on O last night, Trinity D was reeling for almost two quarters. The QB for BC was the best we have played against in the post season. I would love to see BC continue with this style of balanced attack. T has much work to do this week on the D side to stop X as what BC did offensively last night was exactly what expect X to do next week. Major problem is X has a much better defense thenBC andwe will not score 50 plus points.

Yes I am in Rome now wih our water supply waiting for the Holy Fathers blessing to assure a victory Friday.

X will win big this week. I have not seen a team yet that can play with the X D front line. IMHO, that is the key to beating X and they have some studs up front with a very very good coach in Bill Glaser which with his return interstingly enough so too is the return to dominate D by the X-men. Good luck to both teams.

I have stated many times in other post that in the late 80's and early 90's that Boone was a great team that only needed to throw the football a little just to keep Trinity and X honest and we would be talking a lot differently today as I really think Boone should have won several titles but the game plans were not good enough to match the talent they had at the time. Trinity is playing on a totally different level on the offensive side of the ball since Betty came to town I just do not see BC staying in this game long provided the Rocks play as hard as they have the the past three weeks. This is not intended to disrepect the Rebels they are a good football team with a winning tradition but they are still playing the same style of power football and they do not have the same caliber player the program once had and they did not win then so I just don't see it happening this year. Rocks win.

High profile programs never get to be a true underdog.

One last point I would like to make about this game. Victory is won in the line of scrimage. If HC can win that, they win. I do not see that happening as it was the case last year when HC had more speed and the same QB. Jeter and Minefield were in the secondary and did not stop the Dutton twins I do not think that HC has that kind of talent this year. Again HC has to win in the trenches to beat Trinity and only two teams have done that all year and they are both named X.
