Correct about Crews. Incorrect about Conner wanting it more. Intense game. Came down to a call where Crews lowered his shoulder to initiate contact with the Ryle player sliding to a blocking position on the sideline at mid court. Call could have gone either way with the game tied at 55 and 3-4 ticks left.

Tough ending to a tough season at Ryle. Great performance by #20 for Conner. 13-13 from the floor making tough shot after tough shot mostly on acrobatic 1-on-1 moves. "Never seen anything like it" is exactly right. Congrats to Conner and a great team effort comes up short for the Raiders. Two very exciting h.s. bb games in Union 2nite.

HC will have to zone it up and slow it up to have a chance. Both teams deserve to play in the region tourney but such is life. I think it will be a surprisingly close game with the Dawgs pulling away at the end. Good luck to both teams.

Senior night at Ryle and Campbell scores the last 5 points to bring the margin down to ten. Camels had no answer for Nick Nelson in the paint. Good to finish with a win. Who knows what can happen in the tourney?

As Hester continues to play himself back into form, the Pioneers are definitely the team to beat in the 8th. I don't think some people realize that you can't miss a couple of months and step back into your normal game right away. Hester is a great h.s. player and I love watching him play. Good luck to both teams in your respective regions. IMHO, SK has to be a favorite to get to Rupp but it would be nearly impossible for Scott to get there in a much more difficult region.

Nick Nelson was awesome last night. If the Raiders get over 50, they have a chance as they play very good team defense. The district tourney is up for grabs and Ryle hosts this year. I believe that the Raiders won the district with the nice win last nite at Boone and play the Conner/Heritage winner, obviously Conner. Boone ends up with the #2 and St. Henry #3. Who woulda thunk this a month ago? Either Boone or St. Henry does not make it to the region. Congrats to the Raiders.

Rice came off the bench in the first quarter and Holmes would likely have lost last night without him. I'm not sure who the suspended players were to know when they got in. None of them started but Rice came to the rescue early and often and played great.

Great effort by Ryle and Maley was excellent 2nite with probably 20 points. Greg Rice was the key to Holmes' victory. I like the way Ryle played with great intensity for 36 minutes. Congrats to the Dawgs on a hard-fought come from behind victory. Holmes needs DJ badly to get where they want to go.

Ryle won the JV game on a buzzer beater. The score was somewhere in the mid 40s - can't remember the exact score.

CovCath rises to the occasion as they do most all of the time in key 9th region games. Congrats to them on beating a solid HC team. Best wishes to Billy for a speedy recovery and a great future.

He was dressed in sweats and limping on what appeared to be a bad ankle. I have no idea the extent of his injury but he was not walking normally so I guess he'll be out for awhile. Obviously, the Birds need him badly. Tough break for a fine young man.

Highlands ends the game knocking on the Ryle goal. Both teams played a physical brand of ball and took a lot of shots. Very few connected. Simpson did not play and it's hard to adjust with your team quarterback on the sidelines. Oops. Wrong sport. Score is correct, though.

This was my first Raider BB game as they had given me no reason to attend. I was really going to check out St. Henry since they had beaten CovCath and Holmes. I figured it would be a blowout based on recent scores. It started out very sloppy for Ryle but then they came to life toward the end of the first quarter and played quite well. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I don't think St. Henry was overlooking Ryle. I just think Ryle put a good game together. Needless to say, I'll be back for more. I thought both teams played well and with great intensity. St. Henry will win a lot of games to be sure. Ryle just has to play at this level every night, not just once.

I think the score ended up 62-58 but don't quote me. Hats off to the Raiders on beating a very solid St. Henry club. I was impressed with the play of both teams - aggressive defense and great team play. I'm sure Ryle must have not been playing like this all year. Keep it up, Raiders! Congrats on a big win vs. a good team.

No sense beating a "thread" horse. Congrats to a very fine Mason team.

I thought that Dixie 04 was better than Boone 04. Boone 04 would not have beaten T. A case of playing in a nightmare footing environment cost the quicker Dixie team a shot at the title that year IMO.

Play calling was huge in this game - great by T and poor by R. And, 4 first quarter IFS that went the other way would have changed the score drastically. IF the first offensive play that fooled T is caught and goes for 6, you have a completely different ball game due to the momentum and field position factor (a crucial drop on a perfectly thrown ball). IF R recovers the muffed punt and IF they do not make two critical short-field turnovers, you have a completely different game. Many times during the game, Ryle made 2-3 excellent defensive stops in a row with some nice TFL's and then Petrino makes an outstanding play on 3rd or 4th and long to save the day. IFS don't get it done, that's why T is tops in the state. Congrats to them.

WOW! That is very good to hear. Thanks for sharing that. It was a privilege to have my son in that program for a few years. He heard time and again about personal responsibility and no excuses. They do a lot of neat team-building and leadership training stuff in addition to all of the time in the weight room. I am proud to be a Raider alumni dad and will always support this staff and program. Go Raiders forever! You make me proud!

I thought the biggest difference was play calling. T was superb in mixing up plays whereas the Raiders need to learn. Our only great play call was play #1 and we did not execute. Hopefully, play calling will change in the future so that Ryle is not so predictable. I'll still support them and cheer them on 'cause those are some great kids who work their tails off. Enough post-mortem. Again, Congrats to both teams on great seasons.

So true. Can't make mistakes against a great team. That first offensive play after a 3 and out would not have made the difference in the eventual outcome, but could have made the game a lot more interesting. Congrats to the Rocks, you deserved it. Congrats to the Raiders. You played with great effort and class. It's gonna be hard as you have to move on to a new season of life but the future is bright for these young men. Thanks, Raider coaches, you do so much for these young men that people do not know about. Good luck and best wishes all seniors from both teams.

Here's the way that I see it. Players on both teams believe they will win the game - that is more important than what us dads and fans think. Diehard T fans are still envisioning the Ryle team that invaded Rockland in 2004. Diehard Ryle fans know how much better this team is than we were 2 years ago. It WILL be a hard-hitting, intense, football game, risky5. Go RAIDERS!
