CCH 68 Holy Cross 55

Featured Replies

Good win for the Colonels. It essentially puts them in the 9th region tourney.

The win, though, is tempered by the ACL tear suffered by Billy Schult of CCH. Tough way to end the high school career for a fine young man who is a credit to the CCH community.

cch by 16. we'll all be laughing about this tomorrow.

3 points off. Michael Grimes had 25 points.

Beat me to it 81, very disappointing for Billy and the team, not the way you want it to end.

Michael did very well. When Schult went down and if Noll was not in, Eifert had no one he could guard man-to-man. They tried sticking him on Michael but Michael as too quick.

One more: Hats off to JD Schmerge. He hardly played against Holmes and didn't get in until late in the 2nd qtr. He did a lot of little things that contributed to a good CCH run in the 3rd qtr.

His play plus the play of the best on-the-ball defender in the 9th (2 years running), Brandon Brown, had a big impact in the 2nd half.

Great kid, great student, kind of kid that no matter what he does later in life you know he will succeed. Just what any Father would want in a son, and what you would except of a CovCath student atheltic.... Good luck Bill, be that coach on the bench to the Juniors and Luke......

Giwa was very good. He's gotten stronger since last year and did a nice job taking the ball to the rim.

If I'm Coach Goetz, I open up the post and let Sullivan take his man. He's a mismatch problem.

CCH did a nice job on Sorrell. I'm guessing he had 10 pts with 5 coming in the last 3 minutes of the game.

Eifert gave HC a strong first half.

Didn't Scruggs start last year?

CovCath rises to the occasion as they do most all of the time in key 9th region games. Congrats to them on beating a solid HC team. Best wishes to Billy for a speedy recovery and a great future.

Sorrell had 15. I think Scruggs is hurting.

Sorrell had 15.

That's surprising. It was a "quiet" 15. The only thing he's missing right now is quickness/footspeed. He's got nice moves and can get to the foul line well.

How many did Eifert have???

HC was hot not only from the floor but at the free throw line in the first half, but not in the second half HC just looked tired especially in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. BB did a great job on the HC point guard, and Brown, is just the best defender in the ninth and he showed it tonight. This was a Michael Grimes coming out party....Great game by Michael. The young Colonels looked good tonight especially JD....Great game young man.......

I'll guess 12 or 14. I think he had 8 at halftime.
