Ryle 42 Highlands 34

Featured Replies

Highlands ends the game knocking on the Ryle goal. Both teams played a physical brand of ball and took a lot of shots. Very few connected. Simpson did not play and it's hard to adjust with your team quarterback on the sidelines. Oops. Wrong sport. Score is correct, though.

What is Simpson's status?

  • Author

He was dressed in sweats and limping on what appeared to be a bad ankle. I have no idea the extent of his injury but he was not walking normally so I guess he'll be out for awhile. Obviously, the Birds need him badly. Tough break for a fine young man.

How did JV do?

Ryle won the JV game on a buzzer beater. The score was somewhere in the mid 40s - can't remember the exact score.

Tough season for Birds. 1st Mcgraw then Simpson. The only two players with any experience. Any one have any stats or details? Nothing in the Enqirer this morning.

This could be the worst HHS team in a long time.......

I have resorted to the old scrapbook to feel good about HHS basketball. I,m with you RB:cry:

Tough loss for the Birds who was their leading scorer?

It must have been so bad that nobody wanted to call it into the News stations or papers. 34 points total. I think you could have thrown the Freshman out there and they could have jacked up enough shots to score more than 34. The Birds are simply lacking talent in the SR. class and the Jr. class although they have talent do not have the experience. I don't see any sophomores getting any varsity minutes so what do you have next year?

A senior laden team with some dynamite sophomores yearning for playing time. What does Willie do? Tick off the Sr's by letting the sophomores develop or does he play all seniors and let the JV ballers develop hoping for better succes a year later.

Is McGraw out for the season?

Is McGraw out for the season?

Yes and from what I hear he is done for good. Simpson is probably out for longer than a couple games. Not for sure on that but you take those guys out of the lineup and 34 is probably all you can expect. I am still wondering whatever happend to Zach Hurtt? Can anyone close to the program answer this? He started a few games early on and I have not seen his name in the boxscore at all in the last 5-7 games.

Who are the "dynamite" sophomores?

Who are the "dynamite" sophomores?

Was speaking in reference to next year's squad. The sr's next year and the frosh to be soph's next year. The frosh this year have some excellent talent in Grubbs, Kowolonek, Lother,Grote, etc....

Offering the question as to what Willie does next year when he has 8-9 srs on the bench vying for time with the sophs.
