Crews from Conner was 11 from the floor including 2-2 from deep and 5-5 from the FT line including the 56th and 57th point. Never seen anything like it...

Tough ending to a tough season at Ryle. Great performance by #20 for Conner. 13-13 from the floor making tough shot after tough shot mostly on acrobatic 1-on-1 moves. "Never seen anything like it" is exactly right. Congrats to Conner and a great team effort comes up short for the Raiders. Two very exciting h.s. bb games in Union 2nite.

I shorted him 2 and typed it like a moron. 11-11 from 2, 2-2 from 3 and 5-5 from the line. 18-18 overall and 33 points. I was afraid I might have jinxed him when I mention he was 1 out from the perfect game after the time out before he went to the line for the lead. Just flat out unreal...

I bet you say this with tongue firmly in cheek. Surely, you remember at least one other time when a player had a perfect line in tournament play, including the game winning points. :D

The kid has had an incredible second half of the season. His scoring kind of came out of nowhere, though it's necessary with this club. :thumb:

I know I'm a homer but I'll continue to say it. Jimmy (and you can call him that when you're 9 years older than he is) Hicks can coach. His teams are always ready by tourney time.

Must be all of that Bill Warfield influence.

From the information i was told this morning Crews had the game of his life, and Conner wanted it more.

Correct about Crews. Incorrect about Conner wanting it more. Intense game. Came down to a call where Crews lowered his shoulder to initiate contact with the Ryle player sliding to a blocking position on the sideline at mid court. Call could have gone either way with the game tied at 55 and 3-4 ticks left.

He can coach, I agree with you about that. To bad he left Ryle when he did, he has turned out to be really good over there at Conner.

Truthfully I feel that Jim Hicks might be one of the top 3 coaches in the region and when it comes to game planning he is #1. If he is given 1 team to focus on for a tourny more than often his team gets the job done.
