Ok Guys lets get it started. It's tourney time! Who's going to win this one? My prediction Holmes by 10.:ylsuper:

Yes Cov Holmes should win, and maybe even by more than the ten you are predicting, but..... I would be concerned that if Cov Holy Cross makes a close game of it, or something goes wrong on the Holmes side, will the dark side of Holmes reveal it's ugly head?

Oral32 can you say, that when the going gets tough, or things just don't go the right way, that won't revert to their old ways? ....... Is Holmes still just a time bomb ready to explode?

It's possible and only time will tell. I truly believe they feel they have something to prove and this is their last chance.

TOG, I don't expect any time bomb to explode on the Holmes side. This bunch finally realizes this is their last chance to prove themselves and having DJ on the court will really help them keep their emotions in check.

As far as the game is concerned, I'm gonna say Holmes by 10 +. Too much talent and they are really on a roll right now.

I think Holy Cross would have to get red hot from outside (which they can do), and Holmes would have to be off some; for the Indians to prevail. Unfortunately for them, Holmes most impressive late season performance was their last vs. E-town. I was wondering before that about their offense, but they look primed to make a run in the 9th region tourney--Looks like it will come down to CCH and Holmes--What a shock????

Why did you have to go there??? These are pretty ugly thoughts than can do nothing but potentially manifest the ugliness of that which no one should care to ponder or want to see, but only to perhaps provoke what you are implying to be that doesn't need to be created by suggestion. If any ugly head has been reared it is contained in these irresponsible and cutting words. I'd expect an Oldguy to be wiser than that. I'd like to believe that a team that's driven and focued are bigger than what you suggest. Predictions of a game are one thing. Creating controversy is a whole different game. Save these thoughts for your Current Affair blogs along with your thoughts of what a bimbo Anna Nicole Smith was.

Speaking of the game. Unless Holy Cross pulls their traditional tournament 'hold the ball for eternity' strategy, then I think that the Bulldogs run away with this one. It could be quite similar to when they played the Indians in the 2005 35th District first round and put on a clinic. I don't think HC has the bench that Holmes has so running with them could be suicidal. If Ryan and Sorrell get amazingly hot and Eifert can control the paint they can make it interesting but I think there's too much business at hand for the Indians to take care of.

Holmes 62

Holy Cross 48

HC will have to zone it up and slow it up to have a chance. Both teams deserve to play in the region tourney but such is life. I think it will be a surprisingly close game with the Dawgs pulling away at the end. Good luck to both teams.

That being the case, why wouldn't the Indians use the 'hold the ball for eternity' strategy? I think they will and this game will be very close. Holmes by 5.
