Red Colonels and Raiders: Get ready to see each other two straight weeks. Why? Ryle expects to beat Scott and Dixie, thus ending at 6-1 and tied with Boone and possibly Campbell. It is likely that Boone will beat Holmes and Conner and Campbell will defeat Holmes, so let's see what happens depending on the Dixie/Campbell game. If Dixie beats Campbell and loses to Ryle, Dixie and Campbell tie at 5-2 and Dixie gets the #3 seed. If Campbell beats Dixie and Ryle beats Dixie, Ryle gets the #1 seed in a 3-way tiebreaker with Campbell and Boone and Dixie gets the #4 seed. Consequently, Dixie back at Ryle in week 11 and Boone at Campbell. Dixie expects to beat Campbell and Ryle, thus ending at 6-1 and tied with Boone Co. (assuming Boone beats Holmes and Conner). Dixie gets #2 seed. Both Campbell and Ryle end up 5-2 (assuming Campbell beats Holmes and Ryle beats Scott - pretty safe assumptions). Ryle gets the #3 seed. Consequently, Ryle at Dixie and Campbell at Boone in Week 11. So, there is a much greater than 50% chance IMHO that Ryle and Dixie will play in back-to-back weeks. The location for the playoff game will be up for grabs on 10/27. I personally think that the only upset chance of the games involving Boone is Conner over Boone, and that is maybe a 10% chance seeing that Conner upset Boone last year. I see Holmes ending up 2-5 in the district. Go Raiders! See you Red Colonels in weeks 10 and 11.

Good question, LRock. Ryle played without the same intensity on defense vs. Boone that I have seen in all their other games and I can't explain it. I think people were saying X came out that way vs. Trinity and you simply can't explain why that happens. Ryle will be fine.

I agree. Ryle's coaches must continue to mix up pass and run and the players must play with fire each week. The Raiders have the tools for success.

Holmes can only get in themselves if they beat both Boone and Campbell and that would put them 4-3. They would also need Conner to beat Boone or Dixie to beat Campbell in order to tie with one of those teams at 4-3. Then, they would win a 2-way or 3-way tie-breaker with Campbell and/or Boone. Bottom line, Holmes still needs help even if they win both games. If Holmes beats Boone only, that really helps Dixie and Ryle the most since Boone beat both of them. If Holmes beats Campbell only, that helps Boone the most at this time. With Campbell's victory over Boone Friday, no team controls their own destiny for #1 seed: 1)Boone - can win out but they are a #3 seed if Campbell and Ryle both win out. 2)Campbell - can win out but they are a #2 seed if Boone and Ryle both win out or if just Ryle wins out regardless of what Boone does. 3)Dixie - can win out but they are a #2 seed if Boone wins out. 4)Ryle - can win out but they are a #2 seed if Dixie beats Campbell and Boone wins out. As to S32, he just tries to generate bulletin board material from comments he has made in the past. So, hopefully no Raider fans will be so stupid as to give Dixie any motivational material and no Ryle players will be so naive as to think they can just show up and beat Dixie. Dixie/Ryle will be a great game and the best team that night will win.

I think everyone except the most diehard Holmes fans would agree that the 4 teams have probably been decided. I just do not give Holmes any chance to beat both Boone and Campbell. Holmes now must win both games to have a chance to enter since they are two games behind the leaders with two games to play. And, the Dawgs could win both and still not get in. There could still be a 4-way tie at 5-2. Obviously, I'm rooting for Ryle-1 and Campbell must beat Dixie barring a major upset by Holmes or Conner over Boone (just don't see it) in order for us to grab the top slot with victories over Scott and Dixie. If Ryle beats Dixie, that would almost certainly mean a same site rematch between Dixie and Ryle at Ryle in playoff week 1. Here's an interesting Camel fact ASSUMING they beat Holmes and Boone wins out: Campbell will host a playoff game if they beat Dixie (and Holmes) regardless of what anyone else does. Campbell is #4 seed if they lose to Dixie (and beat Holmes) regardless of what anyone else does. So, CC must beat Dixie to have any chance of hosting a playoff game. Campbell/Dixie and Ryle/Dixie will be two great games. I really don't expect much excitement in any of the other 4A games during the final two weeks.

Elbert was impressive, they have some good receivers, Bishop is a load. Just did not seem eager to play as a team considering their season was on the line and Senior Nite. Ryle became a much better team by mixing in passing and running from the beginning until the game was in control at 33-0 early in the 2nd quarter. Then, they went back to old style ball to run the clock and not show anything. Good coaching IMO and a great adjustment in game plans. I like Ryle's chances with a commitment to the forward pass from the outset. The Raiders have some impressive athletes with very good hands and speed. And, they played with aggression on D like every game except one. Congrats Raiders.

Not true. Ryle and Dixie have played at Ryle in alternating years.

It sounds odd, but it may be fortunate for Holmes to be playing at Dixie due to turf at Dixie's new awesome house. Dixie's defense will be a lot better than what Holmes has seen the last two weeks so I do not look for Holmes to break 20. Huge game for both teams. Neither can afford a loss. Loser of this game will fight for a #4 seed IMO, whereas the winner can still vie for a #1 seed. Good luck to both teams.

Would guess that the only chance for a GC score would be GC #1 vs. HHS #2/3/4. HHS selects the amount of points they score.

Ten interesting thoughts that I believe to be facts: 1)Campbell can help Dixie and Ryle by beating Boone but both teams need extra help to get the #1 seed (assuming either would win out - only one can win out). For Dixie, they would also need Boone to lose to Holmes or Conner. For Ryle, they must also have Campbell beat Dixie the following week for it to help them in the playoff seeding if the Raiders win out and Boone wins out (other than the Campbell game). Why? In a 3-way tie with Boone, Campbell and Ryle all at 6-1, Ryle gets the #1 seed because NewCath/Dunbar will win more games than West Jessamine/Bourbon Co. But, in a 2-way tie with Boone and Ryle at 6-1, Boone gets the #1 seed. 2)Dixie and Ryle could meet 2 weeks in a row regardless of who wins the season finale. And, the game could be at Ryle both times. It is most likely that the winner of the season finale would host the rematch unless Dixie loses to Campbell or Holmes. If Boone beats Campbell and Ryle beats SK, there is a strong possibility of a week 10 and 11 rematch because the Rebels would then only have to beat Conner OR Holmes to assure themselves of a #1seed. However, Campbell beating Dixie would most likely move Dixie to a #4 seed. 3)Four teams remain in contention for the #1 seed but only Boone controls their own fate. 4)There could be a 4-way tie at 5-2 for first place with Boone, Campbell, Dixie and Ryle all ending up at 5-2. If that happened, the seeds would be Ryle- 1, Campbell - 2 and then I do not know how they would break the tie between Boone and Dixie unless they went head-to-head and awarded the #3 seed to BC. 5)If Ryle beats SK and Scott, the only way for Dixie to get a #1 seed is to win out and have Boone lose 2 of their last 3 games. 6) Simon Kenton owns all 3-or more way tiebreaker advantages within the district due to wins by Holy Cross/Lloyd/Seneca. 7)Holmes is still very much alive and they control their own fate as far as making the playoffs. They have 3 tough games left but the Dawgs have a chance to slip in at 4-3 because they could win certain tiebreaker scenarios. They must win at least 2 games and have some help and those 2 wins would probably need to be over Campbell and Dixie for them to have a chance to win a 3-way tie at 4-3 with Dixie and Campbell. In a 3-way tie at 4-3 with Holmes, Dixie and Campbell, Dixie is out and Holmes is the #3 seed. 3 Holmes wins and they are in for sure. 8)Four losses equals no chance to advance. So, Scott and Conner are out. SK is playing for survival this weekend, making them a very dangerous opponent for Ryle. 9)The Dixie/Campbell loser will probably not host a 1st round playoff game. 10) SK is the only team left in contention for a playoff berth that could win out and still not make the playoffs. Each team just needs to win, baby. All of this stuff takes care of itself. Good luck to all teams!!

Agreed. People were looking at the 34-7 loss to Ryle and thinking that the Camels were down. Not true. The next two weeks will be very interesting as Campbell hosts Boone and Dixie. I have no doubt they will be well prepared and fired up for action.

SK is on the edge of the cliff and will play their best game of the year IMO. Ryle better not take the field with the same outlook they had vs. BC or SK will be in this game to the end. Sounds like it may be a cold and sloppy night in NKY with no chance for rains to dry out with cold temps expected. Could be an interesting game. I look for Ryle to come out and play well.

There's no excuse here, just replying to a smart...... comment. The football team had nothing to do with the sign, that was a cheerleader thing that evidently helped to motivate Dixie. So what? As far as I can see, you are not a true Raider supporter anyway. You're the first to criticize and doubt the kids and rarely have anything positive to say. You must have sour grapes from the past for some reason.

Since you brought it up, Fern Creek would have kicked Dixie's hind end last year in week one of the playoffs. You just barely beat a Shelby Co. team that Fern Creek drilled. That being said since you decided to be a smart........ Good luck vs. Boone. First time I've rooted for Dixie ever. I actually think the passing game might just decide this baby. I don't see either team pounding the ball on the ground consistently all night long.
