Expect Week 11 Ryle-Dixie Rematch

Featured Replies

Red Colonels and Raiders: Get ready to see each other two straight weeks. Why?

Ryle expects to beat Scott and Dixie, thus ending at 6-1 and tied with Boone and possibly Campbell. It is likely that Boone will beat Holmes and Conner and Campbell will defeat Holmes, so let's see what happens depending on the Dixie/Campbell game. If Dixie beats Campbell and loses to Ryle, Dixie and Campbell tie at 5-2 and Dixie gets the #3 seed. If Campbell beats Dixie and Ryle beats Dixie, Ryle gets the #1 seed in a 3-way tiebreaker with Campbell and Boone and Dixie gets the #4 seed. Consequently, Dixie back at Ryle in week 11 and Boone at Campbell.

Dixie expects to beat Campbell and Ryle, thus ending at 6-1 and tied with Boone Co. (assuming Boone beats Holmes and Conner). Dixie gets #2 seed. Both Campbell and Ryle end up 5-2 (assuming Campbell beats Holmes and Ryle beats Scott - pretty safe assumptions). Ryle gets the #3 seed. Consequently, Ryle at Dixie and Campbell at Boone in Week 11.

So, there is a much greater than 50% chance IMHO that Ryle and Dixie will play in back-to-back weeks. The location for the playoff game will be up for grabs on 10/27. I personally think that the only upset chance of the games involving Boone is Conner over Boone, and that is maybe a 10% chance seeing that Conner upset Boone last year. I see Holmes ending up 2-5 in the district.

Go Raiders! See you Red Colonels in weeks 10 and 11.

Actually week 11 is the last week of the regular season. Since teams are given 11 weeks to play 10 games.

IF they meet in the first round of the playoffs it will be in week 12...so they could meet in weeks 11 & 12...not 10 & 11.

Yes, Statman, I should have said Games 10 and 11. You are correct.

Likely to happen, sure. But that's why they play the games of course. I'm not saying I don't like our chances to win the district, but anything can happen on any given Friday night. :thumb:

So if I read this correctly, then Campbell needs some serious help to win the district? Am I correct in reading that they would lose in any multi-way tiebreaker as well as head to head against Ryle?

They lose the head to head of course and also finish 3rd in a 3 way per lowest combined wins.

The only way Campbell wins the district is if they win out and Ryle loses one of its remaining games.

Campbell wins a head-to-head tiebreaker with Boone and we don't know until after tonight's game if they still have a chance to win the district. Campbell comes in second and Boone third in a 3-way tie with Ryle and Boone. So, Boone is in the worst shape in a multi-way tiebreaker the way I understand the tiebreak system. Bottom line, Campbell cannot win the district if Ryle wins out and the Camels win out.

Let's worry about this week first. ;)

If this scenario plays out, I will say that Ryle will win both games.

I think the only way it can't happen is if Dixie looses to Campbell and beats Ryle, Campbell wins out and Boone wins out. That would be Campbell 1 Boone 2 Dixie 3 Ryle 4. Basically any one can get the 1st seed except Dixie, but Dixie could finish anywhere from 2 to out completely of the playoffs. Got to love NKY 4A. Why didn't Conner just run the table and make it easy like the good ole days.

Dixie gets the 1 seed if they win out and Boone loses one of its final two games.

I believe LuvthemRaiders has called it accurately that Ryle and Dixie are going to play in back-to-back weeks. Assuming Dixie holds on against CC, Boone will be 1. CC will be 4.
