My question for those who believe in God, and who even believe in the God of the Bible... "How is it you are able to believe in a supernatural being capable of forming and putting into motion something as infinitessimally complex as our universe, but cannot believe that He is also capable of rendering something so relatively simple as a "first hand" account of how He did it through selected members of His creation?" As much as many want to slam and discredit it, the Bible is the most accurate ancient text known in regard to "scientific accuracy" from the earth being a sphere suspended in space, to the moon reflecting sunlight rather than generating its own light, to the unique "speciation" of plants and animals, and so on.

I haven't seen a lot of SC games this season, but this is the first game I've seen SC come out with a fire in their belly and take care of business in the first quarter. They didn't fool around and let the Defenders hang with them and gain confidence. The last lead the Defenders enjoyed was 6-3 about a minute and a half into the first quarter. Then the Cards went on a roll to finish the 1st Q with a 25-8 lead. The Defenders never had a chance to recover. This is a very different SC team than the one I saw play Holmes in early December. If they continue this style of play, I do like them at the top of the polls. :thumb: Richie Phares was a beast. He was dominant with 25 points and 8 rebounds in 2 1/2 quarters until he took a bad fall on a dunk and had to sit the rest of the game. He was on course to score 40 and pull down 13.

I thought Johnny Cash had something with his song "A Boy Named Sue". Can you imagine the first day of public school for these kids?

SC has a habit of playing just as good as they need to play for any given opponent. This is a problem against good teams. If they played four quarters the way they typically play their third quarter, (after they've allowed a weaker team to hang in with them for the first half and they need to come out and put them away) there aren't many teams in the state that would truly compete with them. If Coach Hicks can get his guys to this level of four quarter team play, I really like SC Saturday night in Rupp. If not, there's a lot of teams with less individual talent that will give the Cards fits. SC could win this game by 20, but are more likely to squeak out an ugly 10.

By "all their players" you must mean Ralph Beard, Michael Bush, Larry O'Bannon, Winston Bennett and Darrell Griffith in addiditon to the kids on the floor tonight. Male may get another crack at SC in January at the Toyota Classic... or they can win the 7th and maybe meet up with them in March.

I'm not a paid spokesman for the family. If so, they could do a lot better than me. :lol: As far as minimal playing time at Boone, I don't know where that's coming from. Flannery started often and played significant minutes throughout the season. I know for a fact that he started against Rose Hill and put up a solid performance. In regard to dad's job, he doesn't just work in Richmond, he does a lot of work in Eastern KY accessed by I-64. During tax season from January through March, he's in Campton almost every day... currently a 280 mile roundtrip. From that standpoint Georgetown and Richmond are nearly equidistant. If mom will still be working in Boone County, a residence in Scott County is the better choice for her. Who truly knows? The bottom line is why does it matter the reasons a family moves to a new county as long as no recruiting by the school is involved?

No doubt that East and Elliott would be good choices, but why do you say that the one team Barber will help is Fairview?

At the time of this posting, the poll is 44 -11 in favor of Rose Hill winning tonight. This 8 out of 10 ratio is about what should happen if Rose Hill and Ashland played 10 times. Rose Hill should win 8 of 10. The problem for RH tonight is that even though that "TOMCATS" logo on those maroon jerseys may not be all that intimidating to the Rose Hill boys, it will be a big motivator for the Ashland boys. 80 years of pride and tradition is a lot to shoulder at tournament time. If the Hill comes out and takes care of business early, this one could be over halfway through the 3rd quarter. If RH comes in with low intensity, this one could go to the wire.

Cody brings a lot to the table for the Tomcats. It's great he's bounced back so quickly... (although I'm sure it didn't seem so quick for him.) He's a great kid. The 007 crew wish him the very best. :thumb:

Rowe is a good kid who's faced some difficult circumstances in his young life. This is unfortunate for him.

I watched the Rose Hill / Moss Point broadcast on Wazoo Sports in the Nissan Shoot Out last weekend. According to the broadcast, three RH players carded double figures and three MS players had double figures. Euton and Jackson delivered as billed, but the big surprise was how the unbilled supporting cast stepped up against the #2 team from MS. The Davis kid was something like 4-4 inside on dishes and putbacks. The Barber kid knocked down three threes, but made some nice moves at the basket and hit 2's inside and out. He's more versatile than I was led to believe. Arthur and Bush are irritating defenders for opposing players. The shooters for RH averaged 50% from the field, inside or out. They don't waste a lot of shots. Coming into the game I think they said the Rascoe kid from MS was averaging 23+ ppg. RH held him to something like 11 pts. I do remember that no one on the MS team scored over 14, the same number recorded by the #2 scorer for RH. Ashland has no answer for Euton, and Thomas will have his hands full with Jackson. I don't think this is the same team that lost to Bath County. Ashland will have their hands full period. RH 68- ASH 54

May be... but he'd better be one of the best magicians in the state if he plans on staying in Ashland very long... :lol: Sad thing is, it won't be his fault. Matt Thomas is an outstanding athlete, but Ashland needs another one or two of him to succeed this season.

Take your ball and go home already Willie. We've said all along this proposal would not bear up under legal scrutiny. It didn't, and you are still whining about "a level playing field". if you haven't noticed, life in the real world isn't always "fair". You are demanding the legalization of "segregation" except this time it's not so much about the color of a kid's skin, as it is the kind of school/students (some you and your buddies can't manipulate and control,) that you want to discriminate against. Another phrase for "level playing field" is "legally assured mediocrity." If we can't win on our own merits, we'll just water down the competition to the point no one is truly excellent. You might as well attempt to pass legislation mandating that all post season competion cease, and champions will be determined by a statewide lottery. No actual games. Just a big tumbling barrel with ping pong balls representing each school. That way, everyone has an equal and "fair" chance to win every year. Maybe we could get somebody in a big purple dinosaur suit to turn the crank and pull the names, just to make sure everyone "feels" good about it. It's people and thinking like yours that turn kids into a bunch of spoiled little wussies. No wonder the Japanese kicked our backsides in the 70s and 80s. While they were pushing their kids to become the best they could be, and cranking out better cars and motorcycles and electronics than we were making, we were trying to figure out how to avoid hurting our kid's feelings with bad grades, only giving winning teams trophies, and trying to make sure that all workers received equal pay for the "kind" of job they had instead of the "quality and effort" of their work. How about the arrogance of trying to cram a broken plan intended to oppress thousands of Kentucky student athletes down everyone's throats? How about the arrogance of claiming the moral high ground in a debate intended to level the playing field? How about the arrogance of refusing to get down off your high horse, after you've been told by unanimous assent that your little scheme is no good? How about the arrogance of calling others arrogant just because they don't agree with you? Maybe the arrogant display wasn't so much toward "public educators" as it was toward a really stupid idea that just happened to be forwarded by some public educators. A legally screened, law abiding, morally grounded citizen with a firearm is foolish to go waving it around in any situation until it is absolutely time to reveal it and pull the trigger. To advertise that one is packing heat, only serves to ensure that a criminal will stack the odds further in their own favor by setting an ambush or firing first. All this firing a warning shot, or getting the drop on someone is a bunch of John Wayne, Hollywood mumbo jumbo. It's the best way to get killed or injured really fast. I own many guns. I have never used one in anger, self-defense, or even pointed one at another person for that matter, and I have had knives pulled on me twice, and a gun pointed at me on three separate occasions. All were resolved without injury to myself, or the death of the idiot threatening me. I know I would and could pull the trigger if someone were seriously threatening my wife, children or another innocent potential victim. The potential victim has done nothing to deserve being beaten, raped or killed. Anyone who chooses to commit such a violent act against a victim has already made the decision whether the trigger should be pulled. The biggest problem with guns is that we've lived in a society protected by those trained to use guns on our behalf for so long, too many don't understand their proper use or true value.

You then shifted gears by appealing to the extreme by stating: I never said anything about the majority of Americans… you did. I never once said anything about, “Rush and friends represent(ing) the majority of folks.” I simply refuted your assertion that “Talk radio does not represent American views.” Conservative talk radio does represent the views of more Americans than Air America does, or Air America would be thriving and Rush and the boys would be sucking air. Are you an authority on American views? If so, I have to ask how you obtained your credentials. :lol: :lol: :lol: If Rush and company did not represent American views, how do you explain how they manage to stay on the air on commercially supported stations without being artificially supported by PBS or American Public Radio? I actually agree with much of what Rush, Hannity, Glenn Beck, G. Gordon Liddy, Boortz and others have to say. They make far more sense than many other voices in the media.

Let me see if I can get this and several other recent threads straight... The Bible is nothing more than a quaint storybook. Muslims are the peaceful victims of the real radical terrorists in the world who happen to be American Christians. Nazis, the KKK, gay killers, abortion clinic bombers and Fred Phelps are Christians, Saddam Hussein really wasn't all that bad and talk radio is the root of all our troubles. The end is in sight...
