Who will be some of the top returning players on each team for the 2008 and 2009 Basketball season. I know Elliott County returns all 5 starters,

With Ferguson, Both Faulkner's and the Knipps they will be strong again.

 

How about the other teams, Bath, East Carter, and the rest of the 16th region?

Raceland returns Tyler Boyles and Cody Barker. After them there is not alot of experience.

Lewis Co. returns Frankie Witten, Terrence Smith, and Kurt Cropper. This will be a very inexperienced group with probably 70% of the shots coming from Witten and Smith.

 

I think Fleming Co. returns most of their players, seems like there entire starting 5 was sophmores. Dont really know if any of them can be considered as the top players, dont really know enough about this team to stay.

 

It seems that East has some good players returning, the 6'6 center who was a sophmore this year. Rose Hill will have some young players returning, will have to develop some of there young talent.

Are you sure?? I thought Frankie was a senior this year

Russell has a good group of Juniors coming back and with a softer schedule should get to 10-12 wins next year and 16-18 by their Sr year. Everyone knew last year that Russell would not compete for the region until this class' senior year. Good luck to the Devils and the new coach.:devil:

New coach or not unless someone transfer in. They will be lucky to win 6 games. Maybe in a couple of years though. Good luck to the new coach.

East carter will return a strong starting five for Brandon Bakers club. They return top post player Colt Barnhill, along with Kyle Bair and Tyler Jackson, and much improved Devin Kawada

Yes Tyler Jackson will be a Senior next year, look for him and Colt to have great years without Johnson there to lead them in scoring

What Johnson are you referring to at East Carter?

East also has 6'6 freshmen Colin Kennedy and 6'4 freshmen Tyler Clay, both should play quality minutes next year.

Mike Davis, Scott Gambill, Alex Malloy, Nate Quackenbush, Johnny Bush are returning from Rose Hill. There is also some very talented 8th graders who should give Rose Hill some quality minutes next year.

After seeing the Faulkner's and Jonathan Ferguson play the last two years and seeing them twice with the Derek Smith All-Stars in the past few weeks, they are among three of the best players in the entire state (All 3 have a legitimate shot at making the KY All-Star team next April in the annual KY-Indiana All-Star Series). Timmy Knipp has a chance to be one of the best players in the region as a sophomore next year. Depends on how hard he works this summer and improves his overall game. And he might grow an inch or two you never can tell. Certainly being 6'8" and adding a few pounds would also help out his progress.

 

NOTE: Ferg is leading a talented All-Star team that includes Richie Phares and Leonard Macon in scoring at 18ppg. Ethan Faulkner and Evan Faulkner are also starting for that team and playing great ball. Ethan will be the top point guard in the state next year and is running this All-Star team to perfection. Evan is playing great defense just like he did on Euton in the regional and Miller in the State tourney and hitting his open shot opportunities.

From what I have seen Knipp is definitly the best prospect on Elliott Co's team. I was very impressed with how well he moved when I have seen him play.
