I think they gave him the T because he actually spun on the rim. You can see that the ball is almost on the floor but he is still on the rim. What a display; I felt like I was watching a dunk contest. I know Scott's game is pressing but it sure help unleash the Bulldog Aerial Assault. Wow! Very Impressive and fun to watch.

After they went down big, he really didn't do much yelling or coaching. I bet he does next practice.

Sorry, what do you mean by the other team isolated her. I saw that in your Boone post the other day and wasn't sure what that meant. (Sorry, not a coach, more of a fan.) Also, when you say double teamed do you mean they were face guarding her with two players all over the floor?

My thoughts on the game; *Stowers had a good game plan by slowing the ball down. They got away from their game plan at times and it usually cost them a turnover. To answer your question Panda, there was one stretch towards the end of the first quarter that Stephenson dribbled the ball near the mid-court line for nearly two minutes. I heard Nell say, “oh just let her stand out there and dribble.” *Boone jumped out to a 10-2 lead but SK came back with threes from Stephenson to go up 13-10. *Nell was noticeably frustrated by this game tonight; at one point during a timeout argument with a ref, she pointed her index finger in the air and waved in it in a circular motion as the ref walked away. *Boone had way more basketball talent than SK; maybe athletes as well but SK was right there. Although final score was a lead by 14, the game was closer than the final; at least in my opinion. *The difference in the game was a stretch in the third quarter when SK made four straight turnovers after Boone pressure and then Boone went up by double digits to stay. Why in the world Boone didn’t pressure SK earlier in the game didn’t make sense to me. *SK got the ball into Pace one time and Moss didn’t even challenge her; would have liked to have seen them try this a little more for that other scoring option Panda mentioned. *Blevins and Pace played a solid game of defense on Moss. I think it was the third where Pace had two steals when they tried to get it into Moss. Maybe it was the SK defense but it seemed like Moss hit the go button when she wanted to; only thing she wasn’t pushing it every time down the floor. *Finally, very fun game to watch. I was thinking without Wainscott that it could be a long night for SK. Congrats to both teams who are my faves to win their regions again.

I expected a closer game. Scott was better on both ends of the floor. CC struggled in their offense, especially when they needed to score quickly in the second half. Jolly never really got going Very strong game from Keylo tonight. Block Agree, Scott much stronger inside.

Why do you say he was "outcoached" in this game? I didn't see the game but on paper, I didn't think the game would have been that close as I believe Scott has a more talented team this year.

They face guarded him with two even when thy inbounded: Held his jersey.... ..and hacked him. and he still scored.

Regarding defense; SK is going to bring man to man regardless of their opponent. I actually thought they did a better job of putting pressure on Tibbs in the first half but they went with a smaller line-up in the second half that didn't seem to work. Are you suggesting they should have gone zone? Scott didn't take many three's but the ones they shot seemed to fall. The technical wasn't in the first three minutes of the game; it was with Scott up 28-23 in the third. Scott would go on a 12-2 run to close the quarter. Sometimes T's go in your favor, sometimes they don't. In this case, safe to say MO went to Scott. Scott's overall size (not just Tibbs) just seemed to affect SK. The outside shot wasn't going for SK and it just didn't work going inside. SK had too many shots adjusted due to Scott's size once they tried to drive.

The 15-0 start certainly set the tone and the multiple players in doubld figures was a welcome site. SK boys "into this game" on a much different level than at the Boone game. Patience on offensive end resulted in some easy buckets. My compliments on the new lighting in the gym. Very nice.

Was it me or was this game just boring and uninspiring. I looked across the gym at one point and I could see 10 people at one time yawning. Simon couldn't make shots, made too many turnovers and had their lack of size exploited on the inside. A pretty good crowd on hand but you would have never known. I don't know, maybe just me?

Does Williamstown have a Dixon as well?

Rebounding was a challenge for SK during the first few games this season but as you mentioned above and the quote, Pace is really coming on in the post role. She didn't get as many varsity minutes last year because she was playing behind Smith and one of the Figgins twins. However, as she keeps getting experience this year, I look for her to be a huge contributor as the season wears on since she is by far the tallest on the team and can play physical.

It may be more than that! Some of them have been playing varsity since the 6th grade if I am not mistaken. Sounds like W-town had this game until it got down to charity stripe time.

Didn't get that either; when Stowers put his first group on the bench, you would have thought the other coach would have done the same. I was glad to see Stowers resisted putting the first group back in although the foul attrition kind of took care of that to a certain extent. Notice though that SK took a few TO's down the stretch...hmmmm. How many coaches has Oldham gone through in the last 5 years?

Hand Checks and Forearm shivers? SK's defense "pushes" you where they want you to go. Hand checks? Not sure about that, IMO, more of in your face not giving you room to breathe or dribble. There is no such thing as a step off and if you see them play enough, you will hear ball pressure and gap all night long. The other thing is they play man to man probably 95% of the time. That's their system and it isn't going to change no matter who they play. I enjoy watching their defense because they get after it. I have read in paper that they work on D about 80% in practice and it shows. They can take their opponent's high powered offense and frustrate them which is why they have been successful. They want to hold a team in the mid-30's and score one more point, they aren't concerned about scoring a ton.

Two things doomed SK; 1. the Colerain's quickness and use of press and 2. Colerain's offensive rebounding or SK's lack of defensive rebounding. SK was outsized but just didn't body up enough on the glass as Colerain got second and third chances in the paint.
