I agree an excellent idea! But when did the KHSAA listen to good ideas from the fans who support the schools and tournaments anyway.:ylsuper:

Hopefully the price of gas will stay below $2 a gallon and some fans that have to make a decision to use much needed expendable cash for important things like food, gas, bills, etc. will have that little bit left to make the trip and follow their respective teams. But still, if anyone connected with this years upcomming tournament please tell us what kind of finanacial deal has been made with the BoK Arena and the schools as far as gate reciepts being split, cost of tickets (I think the older thread had guesses instead of a true cost), cost of concessions ( Greater's and Mont.Inn are great, but in these times can a family of 4 or more traveling and hour plus afford this?) for a high school game. I won't even disscuss passes and a hospitality room, leave that for another thread. We the fans that support our teams and our regions need to know up front before the season starts not the middle of February.

If I saw right yesterday on the KHSAA site Belfry and Mason Co. were both 5-0 in the region and 4-0 in district play. I take it that Belfry would get home field advantage due to them being undefeated if they were to meet in a few weeks. Or do they play on a neutral field, say Morehead or Eastern KY, and would a neutral field be better for all teams playing for a regional title. Not trying to stir up anything, just asking a question.

I think he is about 6'4", but the point I was trying to make with my earlier post was, we've never had an abundance of players year in and year out 6'7" or better. Usually the teams had 2 to 4 players out of 15 that went maybe 6'3" to 6'5" at best. I can remember plenty of years we had 1 or 2 players at 6'2" or 6'3" at best having to play center.

What about Mason Co.? I don't believe they have anyone over 6'4" or 6"5" and then only 3 or 4 maybe this year that will see valuable time.

Through last nights game Jeremy Thompson has rushed for 1287 yrds. and 24 TD's.

The Thompson kid from Mason Co. has rushed great all year. I know of one game this year where he rushed for 3 TD's and 200 plus yrds.

I forgot, you have to players and talent. Also the ability to organize the lower grades to develop that talent and player pool to keep your pipeline full of players wanting to play for that coach and school and not transfer later on.

Yes he can, if the players and parents and administration buy into his philosophies about how to play the game. Also if politics and personal interference from disgruntled parents are kept under wraps and to a minimum and the coach gets the support from the school when he has to make tough decisions that some powerfull people don't agree with, then if that coach has knowledge, skill, and respect, then he will be successfull.

Wouldn't Mason Co. be considered 3A if using just some, not all of the football parameters? When they moved to 3A from 2A they were in the gray area enrollment wise and had the option a few yrs. later to go back to 2A the attendance hasn't grown that much to be a jump to 4A I don't think.

I agree with you. I am tride and true Royals fan but I have to let my head over rule my heart here. A top 10 team at this time, NO, a top 20 team at this time, YES.

I checked the La Tech web site, he is not on the roster and couldn't find any press releases stating that he is not a part of the program. I know schools cannot really state why a player is not a part of the program due to grades and privacy but couldn't find anything at all from their local press.

From reading the posts on here, there are some who know some of the financial details already,(exact prices on tickets, concessions, and the rent on the arena, etc.). The big drawing card of this years tournament is holding 2 regionals at one location and cashing in on twice as many fans and such. The 39th and 40th Districts are not going to vote to hold it at NKU and the District with Harrison Co. & Deming may not vote to hold it at NKU so if thats the case will it be financially feasible to hold it at NKU once every 4 years and will it be financially beneficial for just the 9th Region boys and girls to be their on their own when the 10th Region is played in Maysville or Mt. Sterling? I know the 9th region could seat only 3500 at most if I remember right before the new arena, but all in all after this year, is this going to be as profitable to the schools like they hope, probablly not, with the economy the way it is right now. I will go to NKU if my schedule allows and will be excited to be their and support the Royals and I hope it will be a successfull tournament, but the main success is holding the two regionals together year in and year out and that will never happen.

Pressrow would know better than myself, but from what little I saw of her last year she has decent size, but speed, quickness and footwork need improvement along with a little self-confidence that will probably come with her getting older and hopefully being in stilled by the coach.

Yes, Beth Queen, sorry about that got the first name mixed up with the girl that played at Rose Hill I believe. I wish the girls nothing but the best this year. Hopefully, Coach Butcher can rebuild the program up to where there is a consistant mix of seniors, juniors and sophmores somewhat year in and year out.

Keller Menke and Kaitlin Smith will probably be the main players that will be asked to pick-up the scoring. Emily Queen and Hillary Doyle will probably be the girls down low asked to most of the rebounding unless there are some younger kids coming up.

They need to get a year or two older and taller if that is anyway possible. Also they need to be better prepared defensively and fundamentally with an emphasis on bench development. Also the new coach is going to have to develop some type of team unity and chemistry that is going to filter down through the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades where the girls will want to continue with basketball once they get to high school.

He is a UK verbal signee, he is a sophmore I believe and is a 6'8" forward.:thumb:
