  1. First time I got to see them in person, and they looked pretty good. 54 percent from the free throw line won't get it done against the likes of Elliot Co., Bryan Station, and Clark Co. come regional tournament time.
  2. Not unless she starts and plays varsity from the 6th grade on, and then she has to be a major player, not just a 5th starter.
  3. All schools get transfers, but because basketball has become so important to this state becuase of web sites like this, UK and UL, and the sport in general it has evolved into something bigger than "an extracirricular activity". What makes Scott Co. such a great school over Lex.Cath., Holmes, Bryan Station, Mason Co., or a whole slew of others. Do they have superior educators than other schools, is their AAU program better than all the rest, their facillites are nice but there are others nicer or as nice, they have good coach-but other programs do to. They have Toyota and a few other places to work at, but so does Covington, Louisville, Lexington and even Maysville has few places to work. So the question has to be asked "Why is Scott Co. getting transfers or getting an unusual amount of transfers?" I am not complaining, just trying to understand the situation.
  4. Not according to Danny on WFTM, he said there was contact. But, it shouldn't have mattered, let a ten point 4th qtr. lead slip away and again free throws down the stretch could have won it.
  5. I collect them, not what's in them. Use to collect what's in them until I had a bad "REACTION" to the contents a long time ago.
  6. I can't speak for the other teams, but Phil Barner even though he is a valuable asset is not as valuable as some of the other names and Mason Co. would not be as effected as some other teams.
  7. Not to take anything away from the other schools, but sounds like the Lady Indians are gearing up for another regional title.
  8. Might as well have been, Bill D. turned them down, and he hired the next name on the list.
  9. I would have liked to seen more than one candidate interviewed and a decision made within a week. Recruiting and the team as a whole could have waited 3 or 5 days. I am not saying BCG would not be my choice, but you give yourself options. I think Barnhart jumped the gun by hiring the first guy he interviewed. We all see what jumping the gun gets you, just look at Tom Jurich at Louisville and Kragthorpe.
  10. I'll go out on a limb here and say Mason Co. in the 39th.
  11. All of these are classic puke inducers, but my all-time number 1 pick is "Mandy" by Barry Manilow.:ylsuper:
  12. Life, Cherrios, Corn Chex are my favorites.
  13. Mason Co. by 15 plus, unless they come out cold and have problems at the free throw line again.
  14. I agree that the KHSAA should mandate all districts should either blind draw or seed, make everyone start out on level slate or so to speak. But to say the top teams get punished during a blind drawis totally false. The smaller, weaker teams are the ones getting punished by having to play the stronger teams first crack out of the box. If the top 2 teams in a region happen to be in the same district so be it, let them play a first round game and one of them go home. Also it allows the weaker teams the opportunity to at least play a regional game every now and then. In my opinion, they should do away with the seeding and go to all blind draw. Besides that, if they seed then instead playing every team in the district once or not at all, you will be required to play every team in your district twice, home and away, and you will lose a possible 3 or 4 home games, or a tournament with guaranteed games because of the games played rule. The 3 or 4 home games lost could be big games on the schedule against top competion from around the state that translate into bigger gate reciepts than that of just playing a district foe that turns into just a few fans showing up. Besides, seeding just leads up to having a class system anyway.
  15. Kudos to The Boss, put on a great 12 minute show.
  16. Good win for Shelby Valley. Come March, if they make the tornament, they could give Mason Co. or Clark Co. a tough row to hoe if not beat them. It could be real interesting if Mason Co. and Shelby Valley meet up and it comes down to shooting free throws, both teams need vast improvement in that department if they expect to go anywhere in March.:thumb:
  17. Saw a sign at Bob Evans tonight that they were closing at 7pm Super Bowl Sunday.
  18. Where is Whitfield Acadmey located at, I never heard of them. How long have they been in existance?
  19. The lower bracket is tough, but remember there are always 2 or 3 teams that upset the regionals and crash the big dance.
  20. Are there REALLY any cakewalks in the sweet 16?
  21. Looks good to me, just wonder what the folks at the KHSAA think about it?:thumb:
  22. Yes, they are and they ought to compete for a regional in about 2 or 3 years!
