  1. I don't presume to know how the District with Bracken, Pendleton, Augusta, and Deming would vote, but I know Mason Co. will host it when their time comes to vote. And I would hope that Bracken and the rest would vote for the Fieldhouse too.
  2. Could you envision the the 39th District as Mason, Fleming, Nicholas and St. Pat, and the 40th District as Augusta, Bracken, Pendelton, and Deming (the old 38th District reincarnated) with Harrison Co. being moved out to the 11th Region, or 8th Region being that they are close to both regions geographically? That would make the 10th Region more of a northern Kentucky region. And with this alignment Mason Co. could concievably host the regional tournament 2 out of 4 years and keep people somewhat happy.
  3. I have been a Mason Co. fan all my life and only known The Fieldhouse to put on the 10th Regional Tournament all except for the year at Clark Co., and though we will all agree BOK did not have the same feel and atmosphere this year,(can you imagine the bands, the students, the fans packed on top of each other?) I can understand the other schools reasons for not wanting to hold it at Mason Co. except for money. I knew going in to the BOK that the traffic was going to bad, the food more expensive, and the atmosphere was not going to be the same. Evolution sometimes is not percieved as a good thing at times, and as I get older and more mature and think with my head more than my heart, I realize times change and in this case for the better. I enjoyed the game, had a good seat, good parking place, missed the tip-off, but got to see 99 percent of the game, got out in half the time as it got to get in, didn't buy any food and enjoyed a nice meal at Barleycorn's after the game and was home by 10. I say we should be thankfull to host the region 2 out of 4 years and count our blessings. We had good run at the Fieldhouse, made alot of money for the 10th Region, but times change, and we as fans of basketball in general need to change our way of thinking too!
  4. Could we see Harrison Co. go with Clark, Bourbon, Paris to the 11th, or move to the 8th Region with Scott Co.? They would be on the border of both regions and in close proximity to both.
  5. If they get in Satan will have to get his ice skates out. Besides So. Cal. just knocked somebody out. I say NIT and be happy for that.
  6. Another thing to remember is when Mason Co. moved up to class AAA in football they were in that gray area where they could go either way move up or stay and their enrollment hasn't really increased since then. Remember 1981 when Mason Co. and Simon Kenton were the smallest schools in the state tournament. Mason County as far population and enrollment hasn't grown as much as what people think.
  7. 1981 State Tournament week. Mason Co. fans everywhere, the party Clyde Barbour put on at the Continental Inn, the record setting crowds, it was the best!
  8. I agree with sumoroyal, but the Scott Co. move to the 10th Region makes things work out for putting the old 38th District back together. 37th District would be Campbell Co., Bishop Brossart, Scott High, Calvary Christian, and Silver Grove. The 38th District would be Bracken Co., Pendleton Co., Augusta, and Deming. The 39th District would be mad up of Mason Co., St. Patrick, Fleming Co., and Nicholas Co. and the 40th District will be Scott Co., Bourbon Co., Paris, and Harrison Co.
  9. Get Smart had guns, but Gilligan had the Professor who seemed to be amazing with palm trees and plenty of cocoanuts.
  10. I wish they would follow a missed shot insteasd of just falling back on defense.
  11. I heard Montgomery to the 16th (I don't know why), Fleming back to the 10th, and Clark to the 11th. And Gold some of us don't want you to leave the 10th, it just wouldn't be the same without the Cards in the 10th.
  12. Congratulations! Another state title for 10th Region would be nice!:dancingpa
  13. Since this is an open question, "who would you like to see coach UK?" and if BCG is terminated after this year or next, I would like to see Mitch Barnhart get a list of candidates together and and do some interveiwing of at least 5 people on the list before making a choice. Now lets try to be logical about this, Coach K, Roy Williams, Pitino, and Ben Howland aren't going anywhere. So being that we are UK and deserve the best, lets put together a list of candidates with proven skills at a Top 20 school. These are in no particular order by the way, Calipari, Few, Izzo, Self, Donavon, Barnes, Wright, Miller at Xavier. Pelphrey and Ford aren't on the list because they haven't proven themselves, like it or not, it's true, at this point and time. There is a difference in winning and recruiting at Jacksonville St. and EKU and doing it at Kentucky. Just my opinion, but I tried to do whats best for UK and not my heart.
  14. I called the high school(I wasn't thinking before I posted) and an announcement will be made in a day or two.
  15. If they would have played the 10th Region finals at Mason Co. we would have had enough seats to hold the crowd. Some of the crowd at the first game was Boone Co. and Holmes fans who would not have been at the fieldhouse. That being said, it would have been a packed house and the band and crowd noise would have had the place rockin', but I enjoyed myself better at NKU because I was more comfortable.
  16. Mason Co. might surprise some people. They did last night!:dancingpa
  17. The parking garage on the top level should be one way only, cars going both ways on top made navigating a little dangerous. Like I said on another thread, until they remodel the fieldhouse and put chair backs in lower seating bowl, they should have it at NKU. An 2 hours drive (hour each way), is worth the wear and tear on my back and bottom for about an hour and half worth of sports entertainment.:thumb:
  18. Just listened to the noon news and there was nothing on the radio, any announcements been made on ticket sales to season ticket holders? What day, what time?
  19. It would have been nice to show player introductions, replays, and halftime ceremonies. Not complaining or anything like that, just saying. Maybe next time?
  20. Iknow, I know, you are surprised to hear a Mason Co, fan say that but after years of sitting on unforgiving bleachers, a nice cushioned seat is a relief on my back and bottom. These younger fans in their 20's and 30's might change their minds too when they reach 50.:thumb:
  21. I went Monday and Tuesday, it is an excellent facility. Being raised in the 10th Region and knowing only The Fieldhouse and the great games their and atmosphere, I am probably going against tradition, but I wouldn't mind seeing it played every year at NKU. The comfort of the seats as I get older, far outweigh the bleachers at the fieldhouse. Until they remodel the fieldhouse and get chair back seats in lower section, I say have it at NKU.
  22. You did a wonderful job as far I could tell and I have a technical question for you, does the daktronics boards at the bottom of the scoreboard are they video capable like showing replays and such or are they meerly for advertising purposes only, just wondered?
