Too much Mason County speed, too much Jeremy Thompson and too many Magoffin County turnovers in this one. The Royals jumped out 20-0 after 1 and 48-6 at halftime. Left starters in for the first series of the second half to get to the running clock; by the end there were numbers on the Royals' backs that I haven't seen all year. Pretty nice game by Thompson, who had 241 yards and 6 TDs on 19 carries. The 6 TDs ties a school record (I believe that would be Dustin Grutza vs, Ashland a few years back, but I could be mistaken).

 

Congrats to the Hornets for playing tough the whole way.

8-16 for 141 yards and a TD, no INTs. 4 rushes for 42 yards. Good, solid game playiing one series past halftime.

 

Actually, the first play of the game looked to be a sure TD pass, but the ball was dropped. Might have padded the stats just a bit.

I like this young man a lot. Good future (would rather see him commit to football, but that won't happen in MC:thumb:)

A solid effort by Mason County. The defense shut Magoffin Co. down even though Mason subbed a lot throughout the game on defense. Thompson had 5 touchdowns and 212 yards by half time.
