10 Good
  1. With some teams in the 16th having changes at the head coaching position, the question is, "Can a new coach make a difference?"
  2. With a new head coach, assistant coaches and the departure of some very talented and outstanding young ladies, the question is, "What is the immediate thoughts of this team that is in flux?"
  3. Not evey game, but it is a start. You can have the best talent, but if they are not prepared properly, they will slip-up when it counts.
  4. I to agree that Kidwell will do a good job as long as he remembers the follwoing: Preparation-Preparation-Preparation Execution-Execution-Execution Adjustments-Adjustments-Adjustments.
  5. That assistant coach that lead RHCS to the Sweet Sixteen is now the head coach of the Lady Royals, the other jumped ship.
  6. A team feeds off their coach. If the coach is unsure, the team will be unsure. Russell was beaten before the ball was thrown-up in the circle and that was the coach's fault. Besides RHCS had a pretty good asst. coach on the bench that made game changes that offset everything Russell tied to do.
  7. Two years ago they had only 2 D1 players and as a team had only 3 girls that would have had any playing time on his teams, which at that time went 8-9 deep. Coaching is not just about your antics on the side-line, but how you adjust to the ebb and flow of the game. I remember walking into MSU just before the game against RHCS, coach was as white as a sheet and sweating as if he had just ran 20 miles. Not saying he was beginning to chock, but if you were at that game review it in your head and you will conclude that RHCS should not have had that easy of a time winning that game.
  8. They need coaching. The new coach couldn't take a superior talent girls team out of the region 2years ago, so how can you expect him to do anything with a team that does not have much talent and with little talent coming up.
  9. Things right come very easy for Chad ; so much so he has a tendecy to be lazy and not push his self. This country is full of 6'4" athletic players and those who seperate themselves from the rest are the ones who push and demand more of themselves in every situation; be it basketball or life.
  10. Rose Hill will be better than last year's edition! Mike Yerry is the best freshman in the state and will be a load for anyone to guard, Kyle Bush will before the year is out prove to to be the best point guard in the 16th, Gambill will have big year because he will not be subjected to an offense that just revolves aound 2 players, 16th region you better guard this boy from the outside. Ryan W., Malloy and the rest of these very talented underclassmen will improve through out the year and will be a force to deal with come tournament time.
  11. You got to be kidding me, the Euton kid has light years to go before he will dominate a game against an athletic, quick 6'6" post player. Foot speed, side-to-side movement just aren't there for him and may never be there. Granted, if you give him an inch from the 3pt line, he will make you pay. But, worrying about him driving by his defensive man, won't happen. Jackson is a different story. Has all the tools, but he needs to put the time and effort to become the player he could be. To date he has not shown that temperment.
  12. Then: Coaching staff had no idea of what coaching girls is about. Had no idea how to motivate, teach the game, and game preparation. They were not committed to every girl on the team, and when they did coach (teaching) and if it became tough, just gave-up. Last year's staff made excuses, cancelled game and had weeks when there would be no scheduled practices or games. Now: Coaching staff who are committed to all the girls and not to just those that are in the 7-12 grades or to those who lived and ate basketball, but from the lower elementary to high school (building a program that will last a generation). Won't make excuses when things get tough, will look for ways to motivate and teach those who are not totally commited or just does not understand the commitment it takes and making the less talented players feel a part of the TEAM. Things are being done differently at RHCS and it will be for the better.
  13. Parent is out on the street preaching this lie or to anyone who will listen.
  14. Contrary to what a desperate conniving parent has been saying, Rose Hill will have a girls program and I predict within three years the girls will be going back to WKY for the state tournament. I can not fathom why this parent will not leave peacefully and be thankful for how God blessed him and his family while he was coaching at Rose Hill.
