  1. Basically Coach Williams had his team ready tonight and Wheat did not. Valley played with little effort and their coach pointed that out. Valley has not played since Dec. 22 so that plays into it. However, given the fact that the two coaches were teammates at UofL and it was a big 6th region game at home Valley should have been fired up. They played little to no defense and Doss controlled the game from the start. Valley has the talent to beat anyone just not sure they will be consistent. Basically a very lazy effort on the Vikings in this game.
  2. Doss looked really good last night. Valley played with no effort. Coach said that in the article. Valley is very talented with Lewis and George but wasn't ready to play. Coach Williams had his team read Wheat did not. Valley hasn't played since Dec 22. Im sure that has something to do with it, but giving the fact that both coaches were teammates and this was a big regional game at home the effort should have been there. Valley plays little to no defense. Honestly just a lazy effort in a big game by Valley.
  3. OC/DC's. Did Herman coach Houston before leaving for Texas? You think they would have stayed if not for the possibility of a national title?
  4. Couldn't agree more. We don't make a big deal when a coach leaves his team for a higher paying job and skips on a bowl game, then it shouldn't be a big deal when a senior that will probably be drafted does the same thing.
  5. Big win for East at PRP. Coach Mabrey doesn't lose many at home. This is the first time they have agreed to play each other in the regular season. Cant figure PRP out. I have heard they have some injuries.
  6. Im hearing this. Has anyone else? Charlie would bring instant credibility but I think his style is boring. Would like for WKU to stay with an offensive minded coach.
  7. None of those Jobs are worth leaving WKU except maybe Cincy. Even though that Job is in a smaller conference past head coaches that had success got jobs at schools that can win (UT, Mich.St.). Purdue in my opinion is a career killer. Brohm will be Petrino's OC in 3/4 years. Some place you just cant win at. He will be recruiting against Mich, MSU, OSU, ND, and IU for players. Baylor would be like Strong at Texas. Go in clean up the culture be 6-6,5-7, and be replaced for the next hot coach. The lure of big money gets them every time. Im not sure he will make a whole lot more at Purdue than WKU. With all that said, Good luck to coach Brohm. He is a class coach. Hope he proves me wrong
  8. KOB Jamboree at Fairdale High School November 19 Varsity Games (Large Gym) 10:30 a.m. Beth Haven vs. Whitefield 12:00 p.m. Male vs. South Oldham 1:30 p.m. Hopkinsville vs. Boyd Co. 3:00 p.m. Fairdale vs. Daviess Co. 4:30 p.m. Holy Cross vs. Spencer Co. 6:00 p.m. Iroquois vs. Marion Co. 7:30 p.m. Manual vs. North Oldham
  9. Lots of blame going on about this one. No coach has told him what's in his best interest just what's best for their program. Parents have listened to these coaches and have made their decisions. I am not for all the transfers and glad to see the KHSAA sticking to the rules. However, I still feel this is a kid doing what adults have told him what's in his best interest.
  10. Would he have been eligible at his Home school? Hard for me to believe that Ballard is his home school and they couldn't get him eligible with a move. Ballard coach was right. A lot of adults making decisions for this young man for their own personal gain and he is suffering the consequences. You can put blame on him if you want but he was a 14/15 year old kid being told where to go.
  11. New redbook requirements limit coaches being in charge of finances. Coaches raise money through approved fundraising and are trusted to follow procedures in turning monies in to the schools book keeper. Coaches cannot just right checks out of school funds without approval from an administrator. Lots of ways a coach can mishandle money knowingly and unknowingly
  12. Where does the money come from when they have to pay?
  13. Hearing JCPS will not hire Ellis Myles. Im hearing former UofL great Dujaun Wheat
  14. For me its not really a big deal it just the principle of it. The KHSAA will get something of it but schools wont. They made no effort to inform schools that they may be switching. I would say the balls are around $50 each. What if your school just purchased 12 or 15 new ones? A lot of coaches will not want to use a different brand than switch to Spaulding during post season. In the grand scheme of things its not, but athletic budgets are being cut and teams are forced to fundraise for everything. Another $500 out of your account starts adding up
  15. My exact thoughts. The KHSAA gets another kick back and all the teams that have purchased Rawlings balls are screwed at least when post season starts.
  16. UK recruit explains to ESPN why she bolted Mitchell’s program | Lexington Herald-Leader “Initially, they were making a culture change,” Corsaro told ESPNW, “and girls who didn’t fall in line with that culture left.” I will go with my original thoughts.
  17. I mentioned early that I was told there was problems with inner dating on this team but was told it was not the case. I believe this was the issue. Just realizing he's a jerk after 9 years and having massive defections don't add up. If it was abuse of players it would have already came out. Just what I was told no proof.
  18. Take away his first two years at UK and coach Mitchell has averaged 26 wins over the last 7 seasons, and this group just realizes he is a jerk. Most successful woman's coaches are tough on kids. All you have to do is read "Reach for the Summit" and "Geno" and you will see why they have won 18 national championships. They are not easy coaches to play for. Whatever the reason I hope Coach Mitchel gets it right. He has taken the program to a different level.
  19. Ive heard Coach Lee is taking an AP job t the school and the girls coach is applying for the boys job. Didn't know about the other openings. Could be a good job in the near future. Bullitt Co is proposing a district change that would effect the enrollment at Bullitt East forcing students to one of the other two high schools.
  20. They are not going to admit it and probably shouldn't. But from where I heard it I think it has some truth to it.
  21. Maybe not this with the coach, but Im hearing its because of problems with inter dating among the players. Issue that causes lots of problems in Woman's programs. Not going to come out and say it.
  22. I agree that he didn't really show a lot. But NBA scouts see that athletic ability and say, "what could he be if he wasn't playing behind those other kids." They really don't know what he can or cant do just potential. That is what gets the NBA every time. They are so scared of losing the next Kobe Bryant and they will take a Marcus Lee over a senior. I don't see how NBA GM's keep their jobs. How many power forwards is the Sixers going to draft before they realize that's not the answer(Noel, Emblid, Okafor, Simmons?). They Have Skal in the top 10 Really. All Lee did was give them time to evaluate him and realize he cant play in NBA.
  23. Should have left after his freshman year when the NBA scouts saw his talent and potential. That's what they draft on. He played himself out of the league by staying in school. Would have been a late first round draft choice after his Freshman year
  24. Again this is my argument with the red book. The middle section used to be almost full. Now it is not. The casual fan comes when they want to see a good game and buys those seats from the original owner or scalper, or follow their team that is participating in the tournament. The middle section is bought mostly by schools for their coaches and administrators. This used to be a perk for coaches, AD's, and administrator's. It was paid for and they got professional days to attend. Now that hasn't completely stopped but it has definitely cut back.
