  1. Lot of teams not submitting stats. 2013/14 KY Boys Basketball Stat Leaders
  2. Sounds like not all Texas boosters are happy with Strong. One of the biggest Red McCombs says its a Kick in the face to hire strong. He better win fast. He doesnt like the media obligations and his interview was terrible. I just hope he didnt make a mistake. I really think he should have waited one more year for the Florida job to open up. Texas booster calls Charlie Strong hire a 'kick in the face' | The Courier-Journal | courier-journal.com
  3. 1. Bobby Petrino 2. Kirby Smart 3. Jay Gruden Cant see Jurich hiring Tressel. He should never get another job.
  4. It the second year in a row that the Seth Rankings have been used instead of LIT ratings. You don't get any points or very little for playing out of state teams. Better off playing in smaller Ky tournaments and getting wins.
  5. Fairdale falls in New Orleans to #1 East Jefferson 84-73. Fairdale fought hard. 4 pt game with 2 minutes left. East Jeff had two 6'8 kids. Fairdale's tallest kid is 6'2. Cory Thomas with a career High 40pts and Caleb Longacre added 21. Thomas is averaging 31ppg. Fairdale will play Christian Life in consolation round tomorrow at 5pm.
  6. They were a train wreck at the KOB. House divided cannot stand. The Transfers not happy and the local kids not happy. Lots of arguing going on during the tournament.
  7. Thomas and Longacre are way underrated. Thomas with 38 and Longacre with 33 and 10 rebs. Really impressed with Hall.
  8. PC really struggled when Heights went with full court pressure. Heights was sluggish possibly due to travel. Their principal would not let them leave til Noon today.
  9. I think some of the players may be a bit overrated. This was not even a game. THomas Nelson passes the look test and thats it.
  10. Give credit to Johnson. Gutty performance with the Flu. Threw up several times at half time and during the game.
  11. Just doesnt seem right. I understand contracts. But isnt a scholarship a one year contract. Coaches can leave during a season and take another job without penalty. Leaving players he recruited behind. A player transfers and that coach has the power to block the transfer causing the player to have to sit out two years. Why cant the NCAA put in a rule saying you cannot be hired or interviewed until after your season is complete? I love college football right up until post season. Then its a mess. Coaches leaving not even coaching a bowl game.
  12. A little off the subject but Jay Bilas has been tweeting about this and the hipocracy of the NCAA. @JayBilas, "A school hires another coach in season from the same conference but no tampering, no sitting out..thats only for the players."
  13. Cards are a pressing team. When you cant be physical in the press it allows teams to beat it easier. Should have never pressed Carolina anyway. They loved to push it up the floor but thats another topic.
  14. No. Learn to play defense without fouling. Maybe why Louisville's defense was so bad yesterday. Not used to playing with hands off.
  15. I just dont like the pace of the offense. Would love to see Teddy in no huddle. We take too long and allow Defenses to get set. Our schedule would have never let us be in national title picture even if we were still undefeated. However, It would have been nice for Teddy to have a real Heisman chance. Could still be the first player taken in draft or at least first QB and wont be in NewYork. That says volumes about the offense. It killed any consideration for it.
  16. Looked Clean to me but those are judgement calls that happen fast. Officials can always hide behind the hand is part of the ball defense. Randle still needs to keep the ball higher an easy fix. Its pretty obvious he is gonna draw lots of attention in the post
  17. I like Parker's size and ability to play inside or out. Randle is a physical speciman and will be tough at the college level. However, didnt show he can should from 15 ft or go right. Got the ball stripped several times going to his right. Also needs to keep the ball higher so guards cant strip him. When UK develops a solid point guard who can create Randle will benefit from his man having to help.
  18. It was during the spring just before AAU season started. Did not play at all this summer. When Coach left Moore for Taylor Co. he transferred to Doss. I dont understand how all these transfers are allowed but they are. Doss will be solid. Montrelle Little in my opinion when he plays under controll is the best post player in the region. He had a great summer.
  19. KHSAA seems to be back pedaling a bit. Taking a beating on social media over this. Saying its not a directive but Prescribed. Not sure of the difference. However, If schools participate and something happens schools or individuals could be fined $1000. Not sure its worth the risk.
  20. Sanford is now at Doss which may make them the top team in the region if he comes back healthy from ACL surgery. Not sure how a Jr. to be in Bell is ranked above Fairdale's Thomas. He may be the regions top returning scorer at 18.7 pts.
  21. Per the directive issued below by the KHSAA, postgame handshaking is over. Effective immediately. Please read. Several sports have “traditions” regarding post game handshakes, etc. by team members, but none of them have such action dictated by playing rules. While it is an obvious sign of sportsmanship and civility, many incidents have occurred both in Kentucky and throughout the country, where fights and conflicts have broken out. And this is not restricted to specific sports. In our state alone, incidents in soccer, football and volleyball have occurred this fall. Unfortunately, the adrenaline and effort required to participate in the sport sometimes seems to deplete the supply of judgment available to participants. After consultation with the Board of Control at its last meeting, the Commissioner is issuing the following directives and recommendations to the schools and officials regarding post game: Following the contests, officials are to quickly and efficiently leave the playing facility following all rules mandated duties and ensure that the rules book mandated jurisdiction ends promptly. There is no need for officials to secure the game balls, shake hands with the coaches or players, or stick around the playing area for any other reason. Officials have no role in what goes on in post game, including handshakes, etc. after jurisdiction has ended. Officials choosing to involve themselves in post game activities will be penalized appropriately; Game management and the administration of the participating team(s) are solely responsible for what happens after the contest is concluded. It is directed that teams and individuals do not participate in organized post game handshake beyond that interaction that is required by the NFHS playing rules (i.e. the awarding of a bout winner in wrestling); The coaches and administration of the teams are responsible for the individual conduct of the members of the team following the contest and shall be held accountable for such; and If the decision is made to ignore this directive and participate in some form of postgame handshake against this recommendation, it is the expressed responsibility of game management and the coaches and administration of the teams to supervise the activity, to report to the KHSAA any incidents that occur. Henceforth, any incidents by an individual squad member (including coaches) or group of squad members that results in unsporting acts immediately following the contest will result in a fine against the member school athletic program, and additional penalties against the individuals or schools as deemed appropriate following investigation. It is disappointing that this action has become necessary, but enough incidents have occurred both in our state and in others, that the necessity has arrived.
  22. Not exactly sure why. I think it has to do with college women evaluation times. Dont Quote me on that. The KHSAA allows for a 1 week exemption during the fall that allows girls to attend camps.
  23. There are soccer kids in Louisville that are playing club ball and a local AD told me it was okay to do both. I understand about baseball and that is my point. Why are they allowed to play during the school year before there season starts and basketball kids cannot. Why is this a rule?
  24. Their are kids playing club soccer right now that are playing on HS teams. Baseball teams are playing also. They may be under a youth league disguise but they are playing as a team with a coach not on staff. There are fall ball baseball games being played at PRP now.
