  1. Good maybe teams can actually play basketball now. Some teams in Louisville get away with murder each night. Physical teams dominate the area cause of the no calls
  2. Maybe if they all grow and continue to develop over four years. Often times kids dominate their age group in AAU. They play on superstar teams. When they get to high school coaches prepare for you. There are some excellent coaches in the 6th and 7th region.. When these kids dont continue to grow others catch up to them. Too many kids get larger then life aau reps and never pan out. Alot of these kids get frustrated and want to transfer. See Waggener. Hopefully this wont happen at FernCreek and they become a special group. As long a coach Mabrey is at PRP there wont be a power shift. He has dominated this region for over 30 years. They know how to win big games.
  3. Seems like there is more to the story than just home sick. Mom seemed to be on a mission to promote him. As Good a Georgetown is, WKU is much bigger and has more prestiege. Hard to believe she would want him to go there. Just a thought. Hope wherever he ends up he is happy.
  4. Wasnt his mom on the reality show following kids and their recruitment. She was really involved with him. I saw her at the KY/OHIO allstar game and she stood out the whole night. Most fans at allstar games dont get into it but she did. She even admitted on the show that she was kicked out of some games. Hate to hear that the kid is homsick for leaving. If thats the case where will he play. Lexington and Bowling Green are not that far away.
  5. Levitch has been the Villes coach all along. Coaching his kids David and Jax from grade school up. Wiley Brown has helped coach also. He stated after Nationals this was the last year. He evidently has lots of $$ and funds the Ville. A really legit aau program but he no longer will have kids in it.
  6. St. X like Trinity prolly has a tough time filling their schedule with local/Ky teams. Need a home game to sell the tickets. Some teams are willing to play for the money.
  7. David Levitch. Son Jax, Thienneman, and Spaulding. Former Trinity players Quick, Foster, Hicks, and Jason Hatcher played for the Ville. I think there is another Trinity player on their roster this year. This was the last year for the Ville since Levitch son is a Sr.The Ville is a quality run program.
  8. Just about all of the ville team is at Trinity. Been playing with them for years. Darryl Hicks also went to Trinity and played with the ville. A lot of aau teams that take older kids don't. But coaches who have younger kids do. Saw Fern Creek coach on the end of the bench during Gators run at State aau.
  9. Lost one to central and another to Fern Creek..
  10. I think some coaches care. Waggener got most of the Louisville Legends two years ago and this year most of the Ky Gators 14u went to Fern Creek. They will send there kids to the schools that help them or let them use facilities. AAU caoches have strong influence on where kids go and most families liesten to them.
  11. Bill evidently had been fighting cancer. Kercher led Eastern to back to back 6th region titles in middle 80's. I think they were back to back. He coached former Louisville players Herbert Crook and Felton Spencer.
  12. Doss strting point guard tore his ACL at State aau. There season could depend on his successful return.
  13. Why would Dow leave Ballard for Mercer Co? If parents got a job no problem. Highly doubt that. Two Louisville kids moving to Taylor Co. I guess jobs are just opening up everywhere. Hey if they are legit so be it. Moving in with coaches and players families to me are not legit. aau seems to be causing this more. Just so happens Dow played on the same aau team as a Mercer Co. kid. Be surprised if he is not living with his family.
  14. Iam seeing a lot of kids from Louisville transferring to County schools. These just dont seem legit. Jeremiah Bell- Butler to Boyle Co Brandon Berry-Ballard To Taylor Co Maliek Dow-Ballard to Mercer co
  15. A friend of mine lives in Scott Co. and kids attend public school there. She said that they will be building a new school in Two years. Scott Co. is over crowded. Any one heard this. If so how does this effect Athletics. I would think it would be an attractive job.
  16. This is the problem. It's ashame parents don't do their research before sending their kids off with this guy. Rumor is he gets paid to deliver these kids. The KHSAA needs to investigate him. Coaches who sell their souls to these people get what they earn. You see what happened at Thomas Nelson with him involved.
  17. Why did it take so long for this to happen. Some of the violations occurred in 2010. Everyone knew something was going on there when a school suddenly becomes a powerhouse from nothing. The ones who will get punished are the ones left behind to clean it up
  18. Brown was back to back state tournament MVP. Originally signed with UT. Played two years and finished at Georgetown college. Morris was a two time member of all tournament team, played two years at Sullivan Jr. College and finished at Southern Miss. Turner made the most of a second chance and played and graduated from Jesuit college. I think it's in West Virginia. The 94 team was lead by Rashawn Morris and Eric Martin a kid no one has mentioned. These two led Sullivan Jr. College to a national championship. Martin signed with Oklahoma and led the Big 8. In three point shooting his senior year. He has played pro ball in Mexico and is now coaching a pro team there.
  19. 1990-1991 Maurice Morris-Fairdale Jermaine Brown-Fairdale Carlos Turner-Fairdale Darren Horn-Tate's Creek 1994 Rayshawn Morris-Fairdale
  20. Cosmetics and style only. Anything the NBA does filters down to the college and high school level. I'm surprised the National Federation has not banned them all together. Used to be called the Allen Iverson rules. Anything he wore would be immediately banned in HS. If the pros quit wearing them so would high school. I bet there are very few if any high school players that have a note to wear sleeves from a legit sports Dr. Usually let go as long as they match the uniform color. Amazing all the sudden we have all these elbow injuries in basketball. Me personally could care less if worn, but they are not worn for medical reasons.
  21. Couldn't stand Rozier and Brandon Bender. Scooter McCray makes my list as as coach. He was a terrible recruiter. About as lazy as they get. Used to work B/C all stars camp. Scooter would come and sign in talk to a few coaches then bolt to the hotel. Never ever saw him evaluating players.
  22. My most hated Wildcat off all time is Eddie Sutton. Was a complete drunk and left the program in shambles. He got off scot free while others got severely punished. He was in charge and should have been held accountable. Sutton was forgiven in the business and allowed to coach again. I saw someone mention Casey. I will always believe he was the scapegoat. Glad he's done well for himself at the NBA level.
  23. Well after three games of aau there have been about 10 kids with college offers. Some after one game.
  24. Great points especially #3. I would also add to the problem of social media and the constant reports from the so called expert bloggers. These guys mean well but are a big problem with inflating expectations. If you follow twitter you will see, "congrats to so and so on getting his first D-1 offer." Or Congrats to "for being invited to elite 100 camp and visiting this school or that." these will be about kids at all ages. If you believe these guys you would think KY is loaded with D-1 talent. But at the end of the day, I think KY only had 5 D-1 signees this year. I also have argued against playing down in age or playing in your own age group when your talent should have you playing up. These kids get larger than life reputations dominating at lower levels. However, as they get older and either don't grow anymore, get better, or other kids catch up Physically the blaming game begins between aau coach, parents, and High school coach. Another reason kids are going to prep school after HS. The offers they are getting are not what they expected. Three top players from Louisville going to prep school. I bet if you search last years twitter post they had all kinds of D-1 offers.
  25. Agreed but it goes both ways. AAU coaches have no problems going after other teams players and offering more benefits.
