  1. Goal tending call on Western was terrible. Huge call.
  2. Iroquois lost to Butler, Desales, and Doss in the regular season. Heard Butler players got Two T's late.
  3. Fairdale rallies from a 20 pt deficit in the third quarter to defeat Desales at Desales on Senior day. Cory Thomas hits the game winning three with 1.2 seconds left. Congrats to Fairdale's Caleb Longacre for scoring his 1000th career point.
  4. Coaches also have to be paid members of the KABC to be eligible to vote and receive awards. Often times the best players are left off because the coach is not a paid member of the KABC. It only cost $20 to be a member and a $100 for a school up to 5 or 6 coaches. You woud be surprised many coaches are not members.
  5. Not sure what district but Butler, Western, Doss, Desales & Iroquois this year is as tough as any.
  6. If he played he shouldn't be eligible. But I don't know all the rules. Seems like its too easy to transfer.
  7. Havent seen Desales play yet but they are tough at home in that crackerbox Gym. Gonna make this one.
  8. Huge District game tonight. If Desales wins at home could give them the top Seed in district. They already have a win over Iroquois. Doss/Iroquois rescheduled for Saturday night. Tough district when you add Butler and a really good Western Team. Doss loss tonight could put them in same bracket with Iroquois. One of them will not make the region. This will be a district to watch with make-up games to see how its seeded.
  9. I agree. Saw him at KOB Showcase. Really solid player and has another year. Just don't see him playing a lot at major D1 schools.
  10. Doss tries to run with Ballard. Thats a mistake.
  11. Caleb Longacre led the way with 28 pts, 6 assist, 5 steals. Cory Thomas had 23 despite foul trouble. Longacre took control early attacking to the basket. Honestly Fairdale was in control of this game throughout. Was up 73-51 before both teams subbed. East made some runs early in the 3rd and 4th but Fairdale answered each time. One of the Troutmans Rhett was limited due to ankle injury but on this night dont think it would have mattered. Fairdale was much quicker and seemed to really bother East with their defensive pressure. Fairdale has played a tough schedule. They have had a chance in every game. Tonight they put it all together and finished. Tough schedule paid off tonight. East will be fine. However, Their district will be tough. Not sure what seed they are but in same district as J-Town and Ferncreek.
  12. Teams were invited last year. Moore was expecting to have a solid year with one fo the best players in the 6th region returning in Jailen Sanford. Then the Coach left for Taylor Co. and Sanford transferred to Doss were he has not played due to ACL injuries. Most events will pull the contract from a team that loses their best player. The KOB organizers chose to honor the contract and not replace Moore.
  13. Allatoona High school from Ga is undefeated at 21-0. Will play Fairdale and Iroquois.
  14. I agree. They have played a killer schedule. Have had a chance to win every game they have lost. Size in side hurts them down the stretch late in games.
  15. Final. Caleb Longacre led Fairdale with 25 pts and 9 assist. Cory Thomas added 19 pts, 6 assist, and 5 rebs. Fairdale will host ST.X Tomorrow night.
  16. Cory Thomas has been as good as anybody in the state this year.
  17. True. Mostly due to cost of tuition. A lot of girls leave the catholic system for the traditional programs especially to Butler. Very few public school kids leave after middle school to go to catholic high schools unless they are athletes. Just sayin..
  18. Could careless where kids go or how they get there. Not the point. You made the point that Trinity is winning against public schools. They are winning with a lot public school kids. The public schools take kids from each other every year. Throw Trinity into and it hurts some schools even more.
  19. Trinity is more like a public school anyway. Half of their team are public school kids. Weakens some of the public school teams. PRP would sure like to have Trey Ivory where his dad was an all state player.
  20. Thats the excuse that they use for the Seth rankings. No way to put a ranking on out of state teams. Thats Oscar Mayer Bologna. You can use Max preps to get a national ranking. Ballard beat Riverside from NOLA a top ranked team in their state and Shaker Heights from Ohio a top team from their state. The KOB only invites top out of state teams. Ballard played in the Whataburger Classic that is invite only and pays all expenses. Those teams are gonna be good. Fairdale's record deserved a 12 seed but they also played Shaker Heights, East Jefferson La #1 team in NOLA, and Christian Life top ranked team from Baton Rouge. If they win any of those they would have got no points. I guess Louisville schools should stay home and not take kids to New Orleans or Dallas so they can get a better SETH ranking. No system is perfect. However, JCPS has said they will adjust it accordingly but they havent.
  21. I don't agree with the seeding either. However, PRP will not walk to the finals. Last nights game with Fairdale was tied with 2 minutes left and Fairdale missed a two footer to go ahead. I don't think St. X is the 4th best team in Louisville but they are according to the Seth rankings they are. No ranking system will make everyone happy. The LIT is a great tournament. However the best team will win. It will be either Ballard or Trinity.
  22. Again why does Petrino get the blame? He had very little issues when he was the coach. Kragthorpe is the one who had no discipline. As mentioned earlier, you cant be laid back in college football. I think at the time Jurich was deflecting the pressure on Krags to blame petrino. Petrino also left Krags with 19 starters off a Orange bowl team.
  23. True he did. But Krags was struggling and I think it was an effort to take the pressure off of Krags put plame on Petrino. Krags had issues the whole time he was there with players. Lets be honest when you have 100 or so kids to look after you better be tough on them. Discipline issues are gonna happen at every school. I just dont think you win the way he does without discipline. When fired from Arkansas I believe they were pre-season top 10. John L Destroyed them in one year. Another coach who has a cavalier approach to discipline. My biggest concern with Petrino is can he win and graduate kids like Strong did.
  24. Why does Petrino get blamed for The discipline problems after he left? Petrino had very little issues while he was the coach. Just tells me how bad Kragthorpe was. He came in and said he was a laid back coach. In college football you cant be laid back. You have to be on top of things. Petrino left Krags with 19 starters back off an orange bowl team and he destroyed it. I havent read all the other post but I think its a good hire for UofL from a coaching stand point. Its well documented that Petrino has character flaws. Hopefully he has changed that. Time will tell. If UofL is looking for someone to stay I actually believe He is the best choice. He has already tested the NFL and he has already been in the SEC so he has had a shot at the big time. If you continue to hire mid level coaches or O/C & D/C from top programs they are not gonna stay. If they have any success they are gonna leave as soon as a major job is open. These coaches do not see UofL as major stop. If you hire the O/C from Clemson realistically how long would he stay if he wins. Petrino has a lot to prove and I think that will motivate him to make it right. I dont think Jurich would hire him and put his reputation on the line if he didnt think Petrino would do it the right way.
