Rose Hill is talented but young. They ran into a well coached team at home and then had an off night on top of that. Give all the credit to Johnson and his staff and players. They executed a great game plan. Elliott County was just too quick and ready for a little revenge after the earlier upset. The Lions have a shot at winning a game or two in Richmond and i wish them the best.

The Cubster is right again!! The only change I would make is Boyd and Rowan. The Boyd win over Russell is high quality. Elliott is playing so well right now they may have a case for #1. Isee where cantrell has them at #1, but he is usually so far off I don't pay much attention to that.

I think when this rivalry is involved you can throw everything out. Morgan has a great coach and I am certain he will have some type of gameplan to slow down Elliott. However, he may choose to not show his card until the District. Elliott by 15.

Should be a great game. I give Ashland the nod due to home court and experience, but a Rose Hill win would not surprise me at all.

Great win due to hard play by Elliott. Ferguson has been virtually unstoppable this year. Excellent defense and ball movement. Keep up the good work and thanks for the support on here from some classy Raceland fans,

Hate it at high school level and hope it never happens. Most teams can't hold the ball that longwithout a turnover anyway.

The problem is obvious to me from the stat line. Faulkner gets 15 shots and Queen and Terry a combined 21. The ball has to be in those two player's hands if Rose hIll wants to win. It doesn't really matter how it gets there. Raceland must have palyed a great defensive game. The Hill missess Kayla Faulkner. She made them go last year and got the ball to the right places. The problem of youth can't be solved. This happens at all small schools. Sometimes the players just aren't there or are not ready yet. If it takes terry bringing the ball up the floor, then let her do it. If you are lucky enough to have 2 players like Queen and Terry, put hthe ball in their hands and see what happens. The younger kids will grow mature and will get better, but this year let the stars handle the game and I think the results will improve.

Perry is a good coach and they will be competitive again. We should remember that great players make great coaches and Morgan County is a little lean in the talent area this year. That won't last.

Elliott has been on a roll, but Raceland will be ready at home and Johnson will once again have a plan to slow the Lions pace down. Look for a close, physical defensive game. Elliott will be looking for a little revenge after the season opening loss, but Elliott seems to be a completely different team now. Should be a good game, but probably a little on the ugly side.

It has turned into a joke and I hate it for the players involved. I know at least now we can watch the ballgame. With Hicks on the bench you hated to look away from him, you might miss something. His classless behavior turned him into the show and it took away from the game. He makes Knight look calm. Still, I have to admit his kids were always prepared and played well.

Congrats to Raceland. Most of us knew Johnson would have them ready to play but I don't think anybody thought either team would dominate. I was looking forward to Rose Hill v. Elliott matchup just to watch the young players bang heads. Elliott-Raceland will be a defensive war. It will be physical and Raceland already laid one on the Lions in Raceland this year. I predict a slower tempo game. Raceland and Elliott almost always play a tough close game and this should be no different.

No doubt the best teams are playing in the semi's, but congrats to Elliott County and their improvement. It is amazing to me that they have come far enough to win those first two games and get to the finals. The new coaching staff has worked wonders and now at least the lady lions are competetive in most games, even though that probably will not be the case in the finals.

The loss of Jackson hurts Rose Hill and that can only help Raceland, but noone has said he is not playing and a kid with his competitive nature will make every effort to be on the floor.

If Raceland controls tempo and shoots well, they win. Rose Hill will be hurting without the speed of Jackson, but kids have a way of getting better to play in big games. Johnson will have Raceland ready but if Rose Hill is at full strength they should win in a close game.

As another outsider, I have to say that the proposed schedule appears to be unnecessary, confusing, and just plain stupid.

Sounds like some from the Hill are starting a little spin. Don't worry, Elliott's kids know what type of team the Royals are and they will try to give those tall, talented youngsters a good game.:thumb:

Run it up? They only played about a half. Most coaches will let their starters see they much time just to keep sharp. The problem was Elliott was hot offensively and defensively, including thier bench and Menifee just kept trying to push the pace for some reason and they just were not ready for what hit them. Now if Rose Hill can take care of business the finals will be a great game. I do not discount Raceland playing at home. They did bounce Elliott earlier this season and Johnson always seems to have his teams ready for a big game.

I think Menifee County will be lucky to stay within 25 the way Elliott is playing right now. They are hitting on all cylinders offensively and defensively.

Elliott was impressive on both ends of the floor. The defense created turnovers that led to a few highlight reel fast breaks. I was impressed by the way they passed the ball as well. 8th grader Timmy Knipp had another solid game off the bench, scoring in double figures with a couple of nice blocks. If Elliott and Rose Hill continue to take care of business, Saturday night will be extremely entertaining. Alex Barker was impressive for Fairview but he cannot do it alone.

A very deserving young man. He as worked his tail off since the third grade in the gym and it shows. His brother won't be far behind. I think it is amazing the way the brothers and team show no selfishness as they work to accomplish team goals.

Congratulations to a great kid and player. This is one observer that would be very surprised if he ever left Rose Hill, and I have no doubt there will be "opportunities" to go elsewhere.

Elliott hosts Fairview tonight in a first round game. Could be the first time the Lady Lions have been a favorite in any tournament game in a long time. I still can't see anyone beating Rose Hill for the title. Way too much talent at three different positions. No other Class A school has that in the 16th.

Probably closer to 6-4. Coaches tend to inflate height for some reason. It doesn't matter. I agree that he will grow much taller. I also think the time he is spending as a perimeter player is going to make him a much better player as he gets older and stronger.
