  1. I also agree on the Double Decker Taco. Great deal and very tasty. I also enjoy the original chicken quesadilla there. Give me one of those and some mild sauce and I'm good to go.
  2. Congrats to Walls. Always enjoyed watching him play.
  3. I also love Kenny Mayne on the movie "BASEketball."
  4. Just a quick note, Saihou Jassey plays at D-1 Bradley University now.
  5. This is a very good junior college for basketball. They produce many good players and teams every year. Good luck Austin Hill!
  6. Who all is trying out for the Ky All-Stars this year? I know that 16 of them that won their respected POY awards get invited. Is there a list anywhere?
  7. Yes I do. At a school like Ashland, Coach Biggs has the potential to take them far in postseason play every year. In only his first season there, they won the district and made the regional finals.
  8. Ten collegiate signees in five seasons is pretty amazing when you think about it. There aren't too many high school FOOTBALL teams that do this. What's truly amazing is that 9 of the 10 were on the 2005 "Sweet 16" team. Also, all ten of these players played at least one season under current Ashland head coach Buddy Biggs.
  9. If you want to be good, then YES it's a year round sport.
  10. 1. Stephen Elrod-Georgetown College(2003) 2. Joey Verax-Transylvania(2005) 3. Mason O'Hara-Thomas More(2005) 4. Keaton Belcher-Belmont(2005) 5. Tyler Mains-North Greenville(2006) 6. Pat Elliott-Berea(2006) 7. Jon Elrod-Georgetown College(2006) 8. Terry Davis-Union College(2006) 9. Abe Crozier-Kentucky Christian(2007) 10. Kane Belcher-Pikeville(2007)
  11. Congrats to Pettigrew on this outstanding achievement!
  12. I had the privilege of playing against Knowles in his early years at GRC. He was good then and you could tell that he had the opportunity to be a big time player in the future. Congrats to him. U of L got a good one.
  13. Congrats to Abe! That makes the 10th PC player to sign a letter of intent to play college basketball in the last five years. Good luck to this young man.
  14. It's actually an Asics logo. I believe the Wildcats were sponsored by Asics one or two years. That might have been a Sutton thing.
  15. I don't know any stats, and I can't remember all of the names. Here are some... West-Regions 1-8 Matt Fraliex Caldwell County Jarrrod Crowder Henderson County Jeff Brooks Doss Thomas Coleman Jeffersontown East-Regions 9-16 Todd Jacobs Covington Catholic Kane Belcher Pendleton County Matthew Daniel Rowan County Jamie McCarty Johnson Central Justin Hicks Hazard Jamie Case Belfry There were some on the roster that did not play. They were... Stephon Pettigrew Elizabethtown Preston Knowles Clark County Austin Hill Holmes Jon Vanhoose Russell Ty Profit South Laurel Jordan Hammonds South Laurel Matt Walls Scott County Twany Beckham Ballard Jeremy Anderson Warren Central
  16. The West won by a margin of about 20-25 points. Jeff Brooks from Doss was named MVP for the West. Jamie McCarty from Johnson Central was named MVP for the East. Many college coaches were in attendance.
  17. And Cov Cath's Mike Listerman is an assistant for the East squad.
  18. Bart Rison should do an interview for the Kentucky opening.
  19. I can't agree with you more. I go to college outside the state of Kentucky and I told some of my friends at school that I was heading up to Lexington for the Boys Sweet 16. They were like, "Why, is your high school playing?" I told them "no." Then they looked at me like I had 3 eyes or something. They don't understand the tradition of this event. They don't call it "The Greatest Show in Hoops" for nothing. I was glad to be apart of it, and even more happy to have the chance to go and watch every single year. The pre-game ceremony for the title game also sends chills up and down my spine.
  20. Some thoughts: 1) Congrats to Scott County for an unbelievable season! You deserved to win the state title and you all should enjoy every moment. 2) Bud Mackey was huge in the finals despite playing through early foul trouble. I now can see why Indiana wanted him so bad. He provides heady skills, with athleticism, he can play "D" and score at will. He'll have a great senior year. 3) Both teams played extremely hard and I really appreciated that. There is nothing like seeing two tough teams battling out for 32 minutes for a state crown. 4) Congrats to Billy Hicks and Scott Hundley for winning their 2nd state championship. They both deserve it! 5) Twany Beckham only had 2 points. This was huge for Scott County. If he would have had his normal 16-18 points, Ballard probably would have won. 6) Matt Walls is an absolute warrior despite having a horrid shooting night(4-20). I believe that he is better than Brandon Stockton and Josh Carrier. He'll either win Mr. Basketball or be Runner-Up. 7) Lastly, I had a blast this week. It's always one of my favorite weeks of the year. I really, really enjoy the pre-game ceremony on Saturday night before the game. When they play "My Old Kentucky Home," I literally get goosebumps. 8) My first cousin and former assistant coach said it best on Saturday morning, "I wish the State Tournament lasted 7 days....."
  21. Elliott County will be good having 5 juniors and a freshman as their legit top 6, it will be very difficult to make it out of the 16th two years in a row. However they will be very competitive and should be a force the next two years. Good luck to Elliott County! It was fun watching them play this week. I thought it was unique that the 5 starters' numbers were 1-2-3-4-5.
  22. Like Gold Sunrise, I met and talked to many BGPer's at Rupp this weekend. I always meeting new people who love to talk hoops!
  23. After Adair County beat Lincoln County in the opening game I didn't think I would have a chance because I picked Lincoln. I ended up tied for 1st and lost by time in the tiebreaker. Oh well....maybe next year. Congrats el gato!!
