  1. I'm pretty sure these are right, too. 1993 Belfry 34 - Pikeville 16 1994 Pikeville 36 - Belfry 14 1995 Belfry 7 - Pikeville 6 1996 Belfry 26 - Pikeville 20 1997 Belfry 42 - Pikeville 7 1998 Pikeville 35, Belfry 19 1999 Pikeville 26, Belfry 8 2000 Pikeville 31, Belfry 14 2001 Belfry 28 - Pikeville 7 2002 Belfry 20 - Pikeville 12 2003 Belfry 28 - Pikeville 12 2004 Belfry 30 - Pikeville 0 2005 Belfry 36 - Pikeville 7
  2. Class???? How about saying, "you know what, you guys have beaten us the last 5 years, and maybe we'll change that Friday night"? Instead, your only remarks are that it is classless for us to bring up the record during the last 5 years. If stating the obvious, the truth, the record, the bottom line, or any of the above is classless, then so be it. But I think its childish if you can't take a little ribbing about the team's records this century, or Belfry's overall lead in the series. If you can't, what's the use in calling the Belfry vs Pikeville game a heated rivalry anyway?
  3. But I will say that I love this POST!!!!!!!:thumb:
  4. You know, I was going to say a mouthful, but I'll let Belfry's team echo my statements on Friday.
  5. Every game the last 5 years.
  6. Johnson Central will keep on rolling!!
  7. Doug Beaumont & Vic Anderson are still the most explosive players in the state, if that is what you are looing for.
  8. I was referring to Pikeville's line getting pushed around by Belfry's line because they are so small. And just because Pikeville fans say their linemen have gotten stronger, it doesn't mean they are strong enough. Watch and see...Belfry's line will dominate...and it will be really noticeable in the 2nd half.
  9. Maybe, but they still don't weigh as much as typical Pikeville lines of the past, or as much as this years Belfry line.
  10. Sounds legit to me.......Sounded like a good idea, too. Good luck to ya Coach.......It really should be a dandy of a game.
  11. A little uptight are we???? A win is a win, but if NCC were 4-1 as opposed to 1-4 the Belfry win over NCC would be more impressive.
  12. I really think Belfry will dominate. Belfry 28 - Pikeville 7
  13. Has anyone else here been in attendance to a Kerry Coombs (Colerain head coach) coaching conference? I really, really like the guy and his coaching perspective is awesome, IMO.
  14. First I had heard of that reason, but in some cases that may have been the point. Personally, in the region I follow, the playoff "showdowns" are looked forward to as much as any district rivalry. And it cuts out the upset factor in the sense that "region 1 #3 seed beating the region 2 #1 seed", for example.
  15. I feel really safe in saying that Belfry's openig day win is less significant as NCC's season marches on.:sssh: And I really thought at first that it was a great step for the Belfry program. Don't get me wrong, a win over NCC is good no matter how you cut it. But it is looking less and less like a statement.
  16. Word......Haven't heard that in a while have ya?? The new playoff structure is ridiculous, to say the least. BUT......Gas prices dictated a huge amount of the decisions about the new playoff format, and financially I understand the move. Do I like it.........NO Do I understand it.......SOMEWHAT
  17. Who is our "area" State Champion? And where is this Super Bowl playoff?
  18. Coach Matney will take another step toward the district title.
  19. The Devils will win rather easily, the same will go for the rest of their season.
  20. Nevermind, I didn't see 5wide's post.
  21. Is Breathitt Co. back and ready to do battle with Belfry, Middlesboro, and Russell this year?
  22. :thumb: :thumb: Smaller districts can mean better, more competitive scheduling in a lot of areas. The team I root for can upgrade their schedule somewhat and get better prepared for playoff time.
  23. If Preston went to tailback that would make Belfry as deep as they have been there in quite sometime ('92- Mark Carroll, Kevin Varney, Danny Oliver, or '95 Hobie Dotson, Josh Stacy, Adam Eastwood, Micah Caudill). Personally, I like would like to see that move.
