  1. Nothing against Shelby Valley, but I would have liked for Belfry to schedule Southwestern, Bell, South Laurel, Rockcastle, or someone like that for a two-year contract, and then re-schedule Shelby Valley after they have progressed under Saunders for a couple of more years. I like the idea of a 4-game district schedule because it would have allowed Belfry to play games that would better prepare them for the playoffs. I guess what I mean is, I figured Prestonsburg would still be on the schedule and Shelby Valley wouldn't. So now the schedule looks something like this: Belfry vs. PCB Opponent (always tough) Belfry vs Ashland (good) Belfry vs Lawrence Co. (good) Belfry vs East Ridge Belfry vs Magoffin Co. Belfry vs Pikeville (Rivalry) Belfry vs Pike Central Belfry vs ????? (hopefully Johnson Central) Belfry vs Sheldon Clark (good) Belfry vs Shelby Valley Bold print denotes district games.
  2. Stepped on the center's back - penalty, unless he is lying face down on the ground. Any other player it would probably be legal.
  3. Alright, I have to ask. Who dropped who??
  4. Touche', touche'.
  5. Never heard of this rule in my life. The play looked legal to me, I couldn't tell if the player actually touched the center or not.
  6. I can understand the yards McCoy got against Shelby Valley. The score was neck-n-neck and he got those yards during the course of a competitive ballgame. But against Williamson and Tug Valley, it's just uncalled for.
  7. ^ I've had college papers that weren't that long.
  8. Yes, it was last year in the playoffs, and the kid ran for 5 TDs and threw for 5 TDs. The score wasn't 60-0, I think it was about a 2-3 TD game. Totally different than the WV back running all over an obviously weak team.
  9. Thank God it still plays, and we still pray at my alma mater.
  10. I agree. I've been waiting for a guy like Demiling to cover this area and not charge me $125 dollars a year for membership, like rivals or scout. Good move by the C-J.
  11. Did you have that right at your fingertips or what?
  12. Since you've never heard of him, this will really throw you for a loop. He IS only a SOPHOMORE.
  13. Not quite a grand, I think.
  14. Hey, I'm not mad, I could care less. But I call it like it is, and the administration at Mercer Co. did what they did because it gave them a great opportunity at a State Chamionship, period. You said that one of the schools was in a bad financial situation, correct? Well, there is no better way to bring money into a school than by having a championship caliber football team. I understand & I'm OK with that. As long as it is within KHSAA rules, no one really has a gripe. But to say it's fair to the schools in 2A with actual 2A enrollement isn't exactly right. With that being said, I am of the opinion that the KHSAA should not have allowed them to merge. But they did allow it, and I understand that you can't just go changing rules as soon as somebody figures out how to bend them. However, I'd be willing to bet we never see a situation like this in KY again.
  15. There are one million answers on this in various threads, but to make a long story short here it is the way I understand it. Mercer Co. and Harrodsburg will have a new school built in the near future. But the schools' administration decided to go ahead and combine schools, have classes on both the Mercer Co. & Harrodsburg campus, thus enabling them to field a 3A/5A school that will compete this year alone in 2A football. Needless to say, academics was at the top of the administration's priority list.
  16. He may be the best in the mountains this year, IMO. Anybody know his 40 time? Not that it matters, but I have been curious about it since seeing him play.
  17. That's not a great YPC for a KY high school back, but it is better than average. It sounds to me like Coach Mitchell is riding his horse (Roskopf) as much as he can. Good luck to the kid......I hope he doesn't wear down before the playoffs.
  18. LOL.....I knew that would be said before it was all said & done.
  19. I hope it is true, but ultimately it won't matter. Some other Islamic nut in the middle east will take his place and could be as bad or worse as Bin Laden. I really don't believe it will tear the Al Quaeda organization apart or anything like that, but it would be great if it did.
  20. Whatever:rolleyes: Good luck in the playoffs.
  21. I've only heard one Panther supporter (mojo68) man-up and say the only thing that needs to be said: Belfry 24 - Pikeville 20.....Yes, it is 6 in a row and we hate, but we'll try to end the streak next year. But then again, I really didn't expect many of the Pikeville supporters on this site to reply any differently.
  22. The Pirates had ZERO unsportsman-like conduct penalties, too.
  23. I couldn't agree more.....nice post!
