Big fumble inside the Belfry 10 late in the first half really hurt Pikeville as well...

 

Great atmosphere...Pikeville crowd actually bigger and louder than Belfry crowd, which hardly ever happens anywhere...

All I can say is I am proud to be a Belfry Pirate!! , I dont agree with the crowd statement, Belfry crowd was LOUD! And BillyRay, Belfry ran the ball on Pikeville, quite well. Harman is a stud, but Belfry was the tougher team, Pikeville lost thier composhere (sp) way too much. And it really cost them. Especially thier coach. Belfry was calm from the beginning and it showed, I told my dad I said watch Pikeville they are pumped for this game and are a little cocky acting, and then I look over at the Pirates and they are walking in with thier normal swagger and they take care of business! This was an awesome game and I do give Pikeville a lot of credit, but Belfry was the best team tonight!

^^^I'm not going to argue with anyone over this game...Belfry got two touchdowns in the first half without driving the ball...a drive from Pikeville's 35 aided by 5 or six penalties and the KO return. Belfry gets a field goal in the second half (aided by two 15-yard penalties) and their last drive. No way Belfry was the tougher team, so let's just agree to disagree. Pikeville ran the ball on Belfry pretty much all night, and Belfry basically had one drive for a TD, which hats off to them, it was when they had to have it.

Belfry ran the ball all night as well, no matter how it comes they were scores, May had like 91, Chapman with like 120 something, there arew a few more things I can say about this game but won't. I am just Proud to be a Pirate and I know Belfry pulled this out because the team and thier coach have "mental" toughness.. enough said!

Neither team played to their true potential. Both teams made mistakes at the wrong times. Mistakes that have to be corrected in the near future. This game came out about like I expected. I predicted Belfry in a close game and Ive stated all along that Pikeville is a good team. This game could have went either way. Im just glad it went our way.

All Im sayin is Christmas came early on Pond Creek tonight cause we gift wrapped one for them. Penalties absolutley killed us tonight. Congrats to the Pirates. The one bright spot of this game and even the Belfry fans will have to agree that the gap has been closed.

Spite the loss it sounds like pikeville played a good tough game. I was being kept updated while i was at somerset

I honestly never thought the gap was that big anyway. Back to game though. I not sure Pikeville gift wrapped one for us. Like Ive stated earlier, both teams made mistakes. Remember, Belfry did give Pikeville a short field on a fumble in the second half. All in all, Ill take the W anyway we get it. Pikeville is a quality team and this game will go a long way in helping both teams come playoff time. This may be Pikeville's last true test until the playoffs and I believe it would fair to say they passed with flying colors.
