Belfry 24 Pikeville 20

Featured Replies

I honestly never thought the gap was that big anyway. Back to game though. I not sure Pikeville gift wrapped one for us. Like Ive stated earlier, both teams made mistakes. Remember, Belfry did give Pikeville a short field on a fumble in the second half. All in all, Ill take the W anyway we get it. Pikeville is a quality team and this game will go a long way in helping both teams come playoff time. This may be Pikeville's last true test until the playoffs and I believe it would fair to say they passed with flying colors.

We lined up off sides on D 8 times tonight thats 40 yards. You cant give a team like Belfry that many yards in penalties and expect to beat them. Not to mention the all the personal fouls and false starts.

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. Nothing wrong with that. Take away Belfry's fumbles and mental mistakes and Pikeville's penalties and mistakes and I still feel like Belfry is still the better team. Just barely but still a little better.

The personal fouls were mental mistakes by one player.. enough said!

All jokes aside, it was a much better game than I thought it would be. Pikeville killed themselves with poor conduct and Belfry turned the ball over 3-4 times.

Overall, great atmosphere, great game, and I'm happy.

Yeah Belfry was r unning loose and had Pikeville wore down in the second half but just kept loosing the ball and they lost them in close to give Pikeville some good field position. As far as Pikeville goes they were better but I will say I was disapointed in them. They have always represented themself with class and they didnt tonight. Any time you send two guys everyplay to try and tke out a qb that isnt right.

The radio said Pikeville played their best game of the year tonight but Belfry was to much and that was true. As far as the penalties I seen a few more that could be personal fouls and a player or two really should have been tossed.

Belrys crowd was louder and we was all smashed in together and we was rowdy. A large part of that was due to taunting of our crowd by players and coaches which isnt smart of them.

But I do believe the better team won this game by about how much they are better not much but some. Saying we would have won if it wasnt for this mistake and that mistake is useless because neither team has played a mistake free game.

Belfry needs to tackle better we was in their backfield alot but we got to learn to get low. And we need to hold onto that ball. Were going to be fine this year though.

I listened to this game on the netcast. Here are my takes on it. This game could have gone either way but I thought Belfrey was just a little bit better. Belfrey did one think that impressed the heck out of me. In the 4TH when Pikeville took the lead Belfrey never lost their composure and took the kickoff and marched to the endzone. They could have easily became rattled but they did just the opposite

The Belfry Pirates never get rattled, thats for sure! They have confidence and they have fan base behind them that won't let that happen, Success breeds Success. The Pond Creek Nation was in FULL force tonight!

This team is very sound emotionaly we walk with a swagger we dont come out jumping and all that but we come out mentally ready to play. And we stay that way the whole game. When we was down 8 late in the game against Ashland we did the same thing we drove right down on them and punched it in and got the 2 point conversion.

Alot of people dont agree but this team is improving alot and by the end of the season were going to be sucha force to recon with. We have alot of Sophmores on the field and as Coach Haywood said they arent were they want to be yet but they are getting there.

Way to go Pirates:flame: Our boys are going to have to work on their blocking, but still a well played game. I was really disappointed in the Panthers tonight. When McNamee was coach, you would never have seen the players act like they did tonight. Congrats Pirates, keep working hard.:dancingpa

There was no poor conduct in this game. No unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

If anyone from Belfry got their feelings hurt, I'm sure it was unintentional.

My feeling weren't hurt, I felt pretty good when I walked out of the stadium tonight.

Then why all the whining?

Billy they was alot of warnings and alot of cheap stuff. Even Pikevilles Coach really got after a couple players hard on a couple different times for acting that way. He chewed them hard a couple times, why would you chew them out like that if they wasnt any. Its an emotional game but in order to wina game like this you have to keep your head cool and play smart. Pikeville is very talented but they let their emotion get to them and it did hur them alot this game. But both teams have a bright future ahead of them.

this game was a joke.

CONGRATS PIRATES!!!!!! :flame:

This is ridiculous!!! I could then say the same about Belfry FANS too. Taunting our boys, etc....I don't know about the Belfry team, they were on the other side. But as for the statement above, you have no clue what you are talking about...:irked:
