  1. Way to stay positive!
  2. Is there a reward?
  3. Cov Cath 49 Holmes 0
  4. Never quite know what the future holds, but I think Coach Campbell will be around for quite awhile. He's got a lot of really good things coming up in the next couple of years that he has been working on that I doubt he would leave anytime soon. I don't know how much is public about what is upcoming, so I can't say, but I can say as an Eagle supporter that I am VERY EXCITED!!! Look for some drastic changes in the very near future!
  5. For some consolation for the Eagles fans, the jv beat Newport in 3ot 14-8...
  6. SK has a new qb? What is his name?
  7. Ugly game for the Eagles. Newport recovered a fumble for a td early and returned a pick deep in the red zone and quickly scored from that. Down early, Scott never recovered. Reyes scored the late td for the Eagles.
  8. Grant County 42 Ludlow 7
  9. :thumb:Nothing to add to that... well said.
  10. Scott hasn't given up it's theme song. They still play it several times per game. The new song is just an addition.
  11. I have only seen HHS a two or three times in the last two years, so I might be wrong about this, but it seems like on KOR they are always setting up or at least hinting at a reverse on KOR. Even if you kick away from him, isn't their always the possibilty that he could still easily be returning the kick?
  12. Might seem like long odds, but what if Scott beats Dixie, CCH beats Holmes and Holmes, Scott, and Dixie all have 1-3 records in the district? Who would be the odd team out?
  13. So many td's it was hard to keep up. A Scott penalty after a td and HHS got the 2pt conversion. From what I recall, the kicker missed alot of xp's. I just thought it was fatigue setting in from kicking so much.
  14. Congrats to the Bluebirds. They were as good if not better than advertised.
  15. Impressive! Quite a big day for the Dixie football program.
  16. If the predictions are correct, and it has historically been the case, won't the jv for HHS get a great deal of playing time Friday night? Didn't the Freshman just play a game vs Dixie last night? The bulk of Scott's team should be getting reps on Friday night as well. I don't think anybody is really being left out in this deal.
  17. They did cancel some jv games in the past due to numbers, vs. Holmes 2007 comes immediately to mind, and that was a numbers issue because they couldn't get the Freshman organized quickly enough to join the team. Last year they brought up alot of Freshman to try to fill the void for the remainder of the jv season. The numbers for '07 and '08 are roughly about the same, not too bad considering the large class from '07 graduated at least 19 players. Not too bad after inheriting a really small senior class this year, especially when about 40% of this senior team are first year Eagles (namely Bruner, Campbell, Wilson, etc.). As all teams go down the stretch in the later half of the year injuries become a factor. Scott is no different in this regard. Younger players are getting more playing time as a result getting valuable varsity experience. As a result, there aren't enough players to field a functioning jv team. I don't think a lopsided game is a concern as much as fielding a team with barely a dozen kids. I don't think it is as conspiratorial as much as you might think. I think it was a fairly simple logical decision...
  18. Friday night will be the 28th meeting between the two schools. Highlands has won all 27 meetings between the two schools. Series was played every year from 1979 - 2002. Series stopped for 5 years until both teams were redistricted into 5A in 2007. Scott has been outscored in the series 1,097 to 197, or an average score of 40-7. Competitive? Only once in all these matchups has the final score been less than double digits, with Scott losing 14-7 in 1986.
  19. Scott is 1-2 losing to CCH 0-53, Grant County 20-26, and beating Holmes 8-6. I'm hearing the HHS game for Saturday morning will not be played, but I can't confirm that yet.
  20. Freshman Final. Total domination. Beechwood poured it on early and coasted. Could have been alot worse for Scott. Scott didn't score until final seconds of the game.
  21. Wow! Impressive. Great win for Conner.
  22. Dixie coming back strong! So, a win over Scott will give them a #3 seed and a rematch with CCH, correct?
