Why waste time let's get it going - so what is everyone's thoughts on this game - will Newport be as prepared as they were for NewCath and will Scott be out for a win after dealing with Highlands?

I think if Newport can stop Reyes,they might have a chance but I don't think they will. Newport needs to get Short the ball he needs at least 15 to 20 touchs in this game. If Collins O line gives him time he will get the ball to his play makers. I don't think Newport wins but I think it will be a good game.

Scott has looked very lethargic the past two weeks against Grant Co and Highlands.

 

With that being said though, I think they get back on track against Newport and I look for Reyes to have a big night.

Scott better win this one. They are letting to many games get away that they should have won. ( Holmes, Grant) If they lose this game the season will be a bust other than team moral what have they improved on from last years team. 07 team play-offs, 08 team ? a chance but a slim one now to make the play-offs. 07 team more explosive on offense with more weapons. 08 team offensively has 2 main weapons need to utilize more kids on offense. 08 team does have a solid defense.

 

I will give these new coaches the benefit of the doubt and hope they succeed within the next couple of years.

Scott has been known the last couple years to let games get a way that shouldn't. I think Newport may be a better team than the eagles this year. Is this game at Newport.

 

Im still not sure why you compare last years team to this years team, when you lose just under 50 percent of your roster and probably 2/3 of your starters there is going to be a drop off, especially at a School like Scott. Let us not forget last years team wasn't great, they weren't even .500. granted 4-6 was good at a school like Scott. You have to put it in Context. Scott still might go 4-6 and win as many games at last years team did in the playoffs.

 

Ill pick Newport, Scott has not played well the last two weeks.

You are right Scott still might go 4-6 or even 5-5 but they still won't make the play-offs or have a win in the district unless they beat Dixie which is unlikely. I guess my biggest gripe was with the way the Coaching staff from last year was let go it was mainly because they lost to Dayton which was 10 times better last year than this year but I guess the Coach this year is ok because he beat Dayton. lol

 

Say what you want about the Eagles this year but in no way do they compare to last years team even if they do get 4 or 5 wins on the season.

Newport played a tough game against NewCath last week so this may help them be more prepared. As far as for Scott has had some opportunities to win some games that in the end they lost. Basically which ever team decides to show will win - so in all reality which Newport team and which Scott will be there.
