Scott has been known the last couple years to let games get a way that shouldn't. I think Newport may be a better team than the eagles this year. Is this game at Newport.

 

Im still not sure why you compare last years team to this years team, when you lose just under 50 percent of your roster and probably 2/3 of your starters there is going to be a drop off, especially at a School like Scott. Let us not forget last years team wasn't great, they weren't even .500. granted 4-6 was good at a school like Scott. You have to put it in Context. Scott still might go 4-6 and win as many games at last years team did in the playoffs.

 

Ill pick Newport, Scott has not played well the last two weeks.

You are right Scott still might go 4-6 or even 5-5 but they still won't make the play-offs or have a win in the district unless they beat Dixie which is unlikely. I guess my biggest gripe was with the way the Coaching staff from last year was let go it was mainly because they lost to Dayton which was 10 times better last year than this year but I guess the Coach this year is ok because he beat Dayton. lol

Talent wise Scott is also 10 times better, but they may when 4 or 5 games with the same schedule as last year. As far as your gripe with the way the coaching change was handled, I could not agree more.

This thread alone says what was wrong with Scott in the past. We actually have people happy about a team going 4-6 and making the playoffs in a 5 team district only to know you are going to lose in the first round, no matter who you play. That is the culture that Coach Campbell is trying to and will change. The expectations are changing, its going to take more than one year. This program is headed in the right direction.

Sounds like Newport there is a lot of people that have high expectations but they just can't get in together. I think it could be some or all of- Couchs -parent support- fans-great athlets that won't come out and play,so what do you do.

Its really a shame at Newport. I'm a Newport grad. There are many problems with the Newport football program. Been to a game lately? You won't have trouble finding a seat. Didn't use to be that way. Some undisciplined kids with talent who can't stay on the team, won't stay on the team or to lazy to be part of the team. Not the coaches fault, it goes beyond them. I really hope things change soon.

I guess your right big things are going to happen in Taylor Mill they will be widening the road in the future. As far as Scott football it looks like the Freshman team will not win a game this year either so that really bodes well for the Varsity program to have back to back no win season teams coming up in the ranks.

 

I just hope I am around long enough to see Scott Football win at least 6 games in a season.:ylsuper::ylsuper:

Yeah you would have people happy with going 4-6 when the school hasn't done that much in school history so nothing wrong with be happy with it.

There was TOO much disrespect by members of the team last year shown to the coaches last year especially. That staff allowed it! This staff will not. As far as morale goes it is not just better, it has even shown through out the entire school. Not to be rude but it seems that to you its personal, I assume your a grown up so I am a little confused by your negative attitude toward this progam. Always negative? We must not continue to look at the past only to the future. No matter how many games they win or lose they feel like a team, no bullies talking back to the coaches this year. Respect for others starts with respect for yourself. I hope being an alumni your attitude with the coaches, last years team, old coaching staff, and especially the comment about "just because they painted an eagle on the floor didnt mean they were going to be any better improves". Its frustrating to see our "support team" doesnt have any faith, and keeps feeling the need to compare previous years. Relax and give Campbell a chance, these kids like him and most of all RESPECT him. That is how it should be. Isnt discipline the most important part of any program? Team mates behaving like team mates, win or lose. Sorry if someone has rubbed you the wrong way, but this coaching staff will make a huge difference. The kids can feel it, no disrespect but thats what really matters, how the boys feel THIS year.

Sorry but I had to get that off my chest, its frustrating that people who say they were the biggest supporters seem to be the biggest buzz kills just because the coaches were let go. Believing in this team, each and every one of them is what all of us especially alumni, should be pushing, that is true support. Positive comments, positive motivation, postive fans!

Also didn't the freshman team lose their starting quarterback at the begining of the year to Rotator Cuff Surgury. It is nice to see them having 8th graders already in the program.
