They won't be playing CovCath in the first round, they changed the format.

Wow! I'm surprised at the final score. Can anyone give some details? Sticky were you there?

I left in the middle of the second quarter with Dixie leading I believe 18 or 19-0.

 

It was clear from the opening drive thought that it was going to be a long night for Holmes. Dixie drove right down the field first drive in about 6 plays and punched it in with Klei (sp?).

 

After that it was all downhill. Defensively Dixie was really frustrating the Holmes O by sending blitzes from everywhere and keeping 8 men in the box to force Holmes to throw. QB Charlie Riley was clearly frustrated as he had no time to do anything.

 

Something to be noted though is that Dixie benefitted from a short field all night. I don't think they had to go more than 60 yards on their first 3 td's.

WOW! I saw both of these teams play against Highlands and thought this was going to be an evenly matched game. Based on this, CovCath should have no problem in two weeks. I thought that one was going to be a dogfight for the #2 spot, but it looks like someone forgot to let the dogs in on the secret.

Now where does this put Dixie in the playoff picture? What are the pairings for the first couple rounds? Do you play out your own district first? Please help.

In the first two rounds of the playoffs District 5 plays District 6. 1st plays 3rd. and 2nd. plays 4th...Then the winners of those games play each other..I also believe our district travels this year..

This surprised me. Congrats Dixie for the big win. The Colonels must have played and coached a heck of a game. Well done.
