I'm looking for an old football coach/teacher of mine. His name is Eugene Johnson. He came to Covington Public Schools back around 1970-72 from Louisville Shawnee (or could have been Iroquois). After a few years, I believe he went back to Shawnee. He was a great football coach who of course taught me the game but more importantly taught me about life. Anyone have any info?

When busing started in Jefferson County, JCPS moved him to Pleasure Ridge Park HS. He was my 8th grade Science Teacher... That was the 1975-6 school year.

 

He was coaching track at Shawnee, I believe, when the school system "bused" him, so to speak. I recall he wasn't real happy about it...

Understood. Just being silly. I went through the same situation you are going through with this my old coach about two years ago. It took awhile, but it was worth the effort trying to get hold of him. Was great to see he was doing well and hadn't changed much in 20 years. Good luck in your search!

Thanks for info ColonelMike. I remember him admitting one time he missed being at Shawnee. Man, he sure liked to run us at practice in 1971!
