I would say Pikeville and Belfry over here in our neck of the woods.

I can tell you that Ashland has replaced one of them and the other from what Ive heard is just as tough but the name hasnt been released yet. Youll have teams that schedule cupcakes as always but that wouldve happened anyway. The programs that choose to play the tough non district schedule WILL be a better football team than they would have been under the 4 class format.

From the perspective of Pikeville we play in a weak district with a few exceptions. So fewer district games mean more non-distrct games against tougher opponents which in-turn will make us better for down the road.

The silence from P-burg is deafening.

Yeah youd think but my guess is the real reason they didnt want to play is because they didnt wanna get theyre tails kicked by us twice in four days after the smackdown our varsity give them.

I havent got to write about this since it happened on tuesday(work). P-Burg and Pikeville were scheduled to play a JV football game this past tuesday at P-burg. Someone from P-burg called the school on tuesday morning to say that they had to cancel the JV game because "the field was in too bad of shape because of the rain". Granted this is second hand info but from an extremely reliable source. If this is true it is a sad commentary on what P-burg football has become, and might explain why the players dont play with any fire about them like some of the P-burg fans themselves have said on here. If the P-burg coaching staff is afriad of theyre players getting dirty then sorry guys but you might want to get a new coaching staff or just kill the football program and start getting ready for b-ball if you cant do any better than that!

I was at the game and the O looked better and the D looked stout, they only allowed 20 yards rushing and put pressure on the P-burg QB all night. Good job Panthers!

These three are going to be great before its all said and done.

Now whether we like it or not we may as well get used to it cause its here to stay for at least the forseable future.

I respect Coach J and support him 100% but ive never liked this offense.

The way we hung with a 4a school last night Id like to see Pikeville play JC. This was just Matney playing the "No Respect" card to fire his boys up.

According to players Mayo was responding to Dr. Shockey on the sideline.

Actually it was 14-0 at the half and we were driving half way through the 3rd quarter to cut the lead to a touchdown and stalled. Mitch did ok got in on some tackles on defense. Chaz rolled his ankle but hes gonna be alright. And yes we are for real we were physically stronger up front than they were too bad the offense we run doesnt show that but we will get better.

Our Boys have nothing to hang theyre heads about. Hope all the ones that got hurt are OK. This is something to build on considering the final score is what most thought the score at halftime was going to be. Theyre is no such thing as a good loss but I feel alot better about our season than I did a year ago after the NCC game.

I was there as well and this was just what I expected. A hard hitting game. I saw some real kill shots out there tonight. Congrats to the Pirates. Lets just hope my Panthers can make it a Pike County sweep tomorrow night!

Pikeville had quite a few starters out but theyre were some young ones that got quite a bit of experience.

It was originally rumored he was done for the year so this is great news.

Talked to big Tibbs yesturday he said the doctor told him 3-4 weeks.
